If I could give an extra star I would hands down! My AAA driver recommend Freddys to have my 95 Jeep Wrangler towed to. I knew I already needed some work to be done before it died on me. Got to say the Freddy auto electric was able to install my fog light when I bought the whole set but the problem was right side fog light could not able to adjust there was a defect when I bought it on Amazon but they able to modified it and adjust the aiming of the fog light. And after they finish everything to the car I was very satisfied with the auto electric guys they did a awesome job. Big shout out to Carlos! I bought a bigger battery to crank the cold-blooded diesel in my 4Runner up in Tahoe, and while the battery fit fine, the post configuration made it so the positive terminal wouldn't quite reach. After scouring the internet, hitting up Autozone, O'Reilly's and another mechanic, it just seemed that I was SOL as no one wanted to deal with the headache. "Just take the battery back" they said. Then I called Freddy's and spoke to Carlos. He agreed to take a look at it and see if there was anything he could do. "We never turn away an electrical problem" he told me. Same day, no hassle, no fuss no muss. I pulled into the shop and after looking it over, said he'd figure something out. Worst case, he'd re-wire the cable. Charged me a fair price, called me in an hour, and was all done. His "jury rig" was cleaner than the original wiring. By the way, you ought to see the SWEET custom Ford truck they were working on in the shop and how unbelievably clean the wiring job was on that thing! Hell, the entire build was TV Reality Show worthy. These guys care about their craft, and are fair and a pleasure to deal with to boot. They earned my highest recommendation today. read more

Called to ask about having some electric work done on an older car (1980's). Person at the shop told me they no longer work on cars earlier then 1997. Just writing this to let others know if your looking to have some work done on anything earlier. Was disappointed to hear that even a fully focused automotive electrical shop has gone the way of AutoZone and unless the job is plug and play they can't help you. Sign of the times. read more

Not bad. We had a car Honda civic 1998 with after market auto alarm installed which always act up and difficult to control. We did not install that alarm. We bought it used with that alarm already installed. One day that stupid alarm simnply shut off the engine and does not allow me to start my car. So we had the car towed to Freddy's and they removed that stupid alarm for $165 including tax. Not bad. To me that stuff is really complicated and I thought nobody can remove it. But they removed it. I think this is also the same shop that helped me install a new alternator in my 69 Rolls Royce 10 years ago. read more

The battery in our Ford Explorer kept dying on us. I had AAA come out half a dozen times. They had installed the battery last year and it showed it was still good but discharging. So this place seemed to be the best in the City for problem automotive electrical work. I took it in and explained that something must be draining the battery since it would die so quickly. They kept it 2 days and when I picked it up they said there was nothing wrong with it. They also charged me $300. I went home and in 3 day the battery discharged to half according to my tester. I charged it again. Four days later it was nearly dead but I got it to crank. I've been checking it every 3 days and after charging or running it it would show full charge. Two to three days later it was at half or less. Something is draining the battery and these guys couldn't figure it out despite the fact they had it for 2 days and charged me $300! Wish I could find a place that could figure this out. read more

wanted to like this place and went because of some good reviews, but I am quite disappointed. for 250$ I would expect a thorough diagnosis like e.g. part x in system y needs replacement. but if for this amount of money you just get a quote to basically exchange every piece that is somewhat linked to the error, that is quite frustrating. yes, likely this solves the problem and I have no doubt that they will do a great job fixing it, but it is extremely uneconomic - at least for the customer and the environment. basically a quote like this means: we haven't specifically diagnosed, so let's just replace everything to be on the safe side the issue is fixed and cash out everything possible. in my case: why not for example offering to start with replacing the wiring, given that the mechanical output of other parts had been fine? would probably reduce estimated cost by ~80%. so unforetunately, i have to agree with some of the negative reviews here, if you look clueless, they will try to max cost. update: i was offered full refund, so that's at least fair. nevertheless, don't treat your customers that way in first place. read more

Needed some serious work done on my car!, car is overheating and runs like s#%*!. I know what needs to be done, being an engineer, I already asked a lot of my co-workers that knows a lot about cars and came up to the conclusion that it needs a complete work on the cylinder head, gaskets, seals, hoses ect. Brought it to Freddy's and talk to Carlos, after I told him what was going on with the car, he already knew what he is going to do, and I know that this testing is what is needed to be done to confirm my cars problem. Had talked to the owner Freddy and we set a price for the work to be done on my car. Left my car and when I got back his son Carlos was very rude and told me he had to run some test on my car. ( without my consent ) and he told me I had to get repairs that will cost me over $900 when I told him I did not want to do this repairs he then told me I had to pay $240 for the diagnostic which I did not agreed on and did not sign for. He refused to give me my car keys when I told him I was not going to pay. He finally made me pay $150 because he was getting aggressive and I did not want to get into a confrontation with a man. I knew exactly the piece to change, the time to do it, and I offered them 2h labor saying that if they need more they call me first. But the guy refused, because he knew he would not be able to add extra charges and I would check what he did... Freddy was super nice and took a minute to test the unit to confirm it was working properly and give me an explanation as to why the turning resistance I was feeling was normal. I was referred to Freddy's by Larkins Brothers Tires. My window was broken and wouldn't go up or down. I got it replaced three months ago at another mechanic who charged me $300 and used crap aftermarket parts. Carlos exceeded my expectations by getting the repair done earlier than promised; charging me only $250 and giving me back the old crap part so I could send it back to the other mechanic for warranty reimbursement.
