Instead of addressing the issue, we get, a patronizing "we'll tell our person". Why not mention why you charge to look at a brand new Kia purchased from another dealer? We ended up taking it back to the original dealer and they were great. They had a technician look over the engine and after 20 minutes told it was a loose wire connection, they tightened it, no cost, and we were on our way. We asked them what they would do if we brought it there from another dealer and he said they would have done the same thing as they did with us: they would try and diagnose the problem and not charge us hundreds to do so. Had a warranty recall so I schedule an appointment with Putnam Kia. I've never had any issues with my Kia Soul. Today, I had an issue turning the key so I reached my for manual & realize the worker(s) from this dealer repair shop took my Manuel & dump all my paperwork in the Zip-LOK bag the manual in. The manual came with my car. WHY? The workers have access to manuals so I don't understand why they felt the need to take my manual out my glove compartment. My rating is due to the great customer service SAMANTHA and JUDE gave. It was my first time at a dealership to get my own car, so I was really nervous. But the Putnam Kia Team was awesome! Everyone had a smile on their face, was super friendly, and the dealership itself was clean. While I was waiting to get my car detailed and some gas in the tank, I was able to watch how the other people in sales engaged with the other clients. It was really nice to see everyone being professional and ready to help! Samantha was incredibly sweet and knowledgeable about the car. I came in with my sister to initially test drive the 2026 Kia K5 GT-Line and ended up leaving with it due to her. Throughout the drive, it wasn't awkward at all-- as if I was merely driving around with a friend. That's how comfortable we felt! Jude, who's in finance (I believe the offices are shared with Toyota) was also awesome! The process for the paperwork was really smooth and didn't take long to finish at all. It wasn't as intimidating as it would seem thanks to his friendly personality and humor. Plus, the car itself is a 10/10! She's incredibly smooth and easy to drive. All the features are so incredible, especially that panoramic sunroof, and my family also likes this car. Especially my dog! Besides, the red leather seats are to die for. Imma keep it 100, I first went to another local kia to get my car serviced. They said it would take 5 days JUST to diagnose my car...thats unheard of. I needed a quick turnaround because I need my car and the other location wouldnt even offer a loaner while they would have my car for 5+ days. In comes Putnam Kia. I explained the situation to Marlon (the GOAT) and he not only was able to diagnose my car the same day, but it was fixed and picked up the same day as well. Ive only had this KIA for 3 months (purchased at another dealer) and to have an error with it is annoying, so having not only honest and friendly service from the start but to have my car back in such a quick fashion was really the breath of fresh air I needed after having such a bad experience at the previous service center. This is and forever will be my service center. Marlon is a great dude... professional, kind, personable, knowledgeable, and really cares for his profession as well as the customers. The only problem is I paid cash for it and it was refunded to my loan because whoever did the paperwork didn't do it correctly. Ok let's get real. This is just a service department for a multinational corporation. Or is it? My people, this place is where to go for your Kia fixes and maintenance. My peeps Patrick, Eric and Chris are just real people not some tow the line screw the owner robots. You'll be greeted in the office by three kind and patient professionals who do their bestest to provide excellent customer service. There are sooo many places to get service but these gentledudes have got the knowledge and understanding of how to fix according to Kia specs using Kia parts that are delivered to the service dept really quickly. I've used them multiple times for standard maintenance/software updates and a couple quirks on my 2024 EV9 and they've kept it in super shape, giving me the confidence to put over 18k miles on it in 6 months of use. Just remember - they are beholden to Kia corporate policy so they HAVE to offer different maintenance packages. It's their job. But they just want your car to run according the data of what works best from Kia itself. You make the call. They just love to fix things. Also three things of note: Putnam service provides a fricking video of what they are doing in service (and why - noice), give you two credits for Uber to get you home and back AND will give the car a wash afterwards. I can't begin to tell you how great my experience was to have my Kia serviced at Putnam. I was blown away! I bought my Kia in Georgia and had problems right away. The service department at Kia in Georgia was a nightmare, and the service department at Kia in South San Francisco was worse, not that I thought that was possible. I decided to give Kia one last chance and took my car to Putnam Kia in Burlingame. I have to admit I was expecting the worst. When I pulled into the service bay, I was amazed by how clean everything was and how friendly the staff was. They came out immediately, all with welcoming smiles. My service advisor was Eric Santagada. I immediately could tell he loved what he did and who he did it for, and that he had impeccable customer service skills. I explained to him the issues I was having with my car. I have a 2024 Kia Soul. He went over the factory warranty with me in complete detail. He explained the charges that might apply depending on the circumstances of the repairs needed. As it turned out, I needed to have the entire steering column replaced. He made sure that it would, in fact, be covered under the warranty. My car was there for six days. Eric communicated with me every day to keep me updated on the repair's status and when the part would be in. When I went to pick up my car yesterday, Eric had a big smile on his face like he was greeting an old friend. My car was washed, and he went over the invoice, and the factory warranty covered the entire repair. No matter how far I have to drive or how much it costs to have my car towed, I will only go to Putnam Kia for service and hope to have Eric as my advisor again. I worked for over twenty years in luxury hotels, and I know talent when I see it. Putnam Kia is extremely fortunate to have someone like Eric on their team. Terrible experience with John Elgelda. Came to test drive and was told to come back next day with an appointment even though they didn't look busy. Set an "appointment", which was just a verbal "anytime tomorrow". We came back the next day and were allowed to test drive like a quarter mile through the neighborhood only. He told us there was an accident on the freeway so we couldn't go on it but clearly there was no accident when we checked Google Maps. As soon as we got back to the dealership he got out of the car faster than us, not giving us time to ask questions. Total time he spent with us was 5 minutes max.
