Been here 2x. The staff are really nice. It does get busy quick but they clean the tables fast once people leave. My first time here they said it was too busy so they made my order to go. I was still able to get a table and table number they just put my order in to go boxes with utensils. The outdoor patio is nice. It's hidden and a lot of people overlook it but I think it's nice. It's less noisy than inside too. It does get sunny outside though if you don't get a shaded spot. I had the salmon wrap. I never had a wrap before, but it was delicious! I've had the smoothie too. Thank God that the Corner bakery closed at South Coast and instead this place opened. It is such a cute bakery and cafe. We opted for latte and a drip coffee and a cinnamon pastry. The person at the register just handed us the pastry w/o asking if we wanted it warmed up. The drip coffee came out right away but my latte didn't. After waiting good 15 mins, I went to the counter and saw that a latte is just sitting on the counter. I told the employee if that is under my name and he was like "oh yeh sorry, it has been sitting here for a while but we didn't know who it belonged to"..... Ummm, seriously?? You give table numbers first of all. Second of all, I have been sitting on at my table and waiting. What a great addition to South Coast Plaza! Pura Vida is a chain from Miami that values delicious and healthy food that you would feel good about nourishing your body with. Yes it's expensive but worth it in my opinion to nourish your body with real and whole foods. The chocolate croissant was actually really good--flaky on the outside, soft inside, and the chocolate wasn't overly sweet. It felt fresh and light, not greasy like some pastries can be. The protein bar was solid too. Didn't have that super artificial taste a lot of protein snacks have. It was filling without feeling heavy, which fits the whole clean/healthy vibe they're going for. I've been wanting to check this spot out and glad to do so today! Very busy for lunch but ended up getting a table eventually. The service is the star of the show! Miguel was wonderful! We ordered the empanada trio (one of each: chicken, beef and spinach). Chicken was the best, beef was our least fave. Walnut chocolate chip cookie was not from the freshly made counter, but packaged, however, it was excellent. The pesto chicken sandwich was excellent as well. I think price points are a little high, but it's worth it. Ive heard about the opening of this new spot which offers healthy options. Located next to bloomingdales on the first floor. We stopped by for a quick bite around dinner time and there was no line. We got the protein pancakes which came with eggs and some berries. Surprisingly it was really good! The protein pancakes were light and fluffy and just a hint of sweetness. I got the Caesar salad wrap which was nice and refreshing! I was happy that the chicken was warm and not cold. Really nice with the dressing on the side. When I heard that Pura Vida Miami was opening up at my fav South Coast plaza mall, I HAD to come and experience it for myself ~ to see if it lived up to its hype. Anddd..I'm impressed. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but it gets pretty crowded, so you will need to keep an eye out & grab a table ~ the second it becomes available. I stopped by on a Friday afternoon, around noon ~ to meet up w/ my sissy and a friend for lunch. The line wasn't too bad to order and moved quite efficiently. While I expected more "wow" decor & aesthetics (esp. compared to their OG Miami location), this shop was bright, open and modernly decorated. Known for their health & wellness mission, they had a delicious & healthy looking menu selection. I opt'd to share the signature acai bowl and empanada trio (chicken, beef, and spinach & cheese ~ served w/ a spicy aioli and green tahini sauces) with my sister. My eyes were definitely more hungry than my tummy cuz I also caved and ordered the fresh banana nut loaf & walnut chocolate chip cookie too (both were vegan, not that it mattered to me)! The acai bowl was good & filling. I just wished it had a drizzle of agave/honey..which would have made it perfect. Heads up..the acai stained/turned our lips purple/red ~ which was unexpected. It would be helpful to have them while you wait in line so you know what to order when you get up to the register. The girl at the register was not very friendly at all, but we did order. Another suggestion is that you should tell the customers not to save seats seats until they order. That would help the people who actually have ordered. Be able to sit down and enjoy their meals. They might be done, by the time the people who are saving seats get there. The restrooms also didn't have seat paper, which I thought was required in California, I did think that was odd. We finally were able to get a table, and then we had to wait for people to clear the tables. They might be a little shortstaffed, not sure. When it's during busy hours. Overall, I really enjoyed my salad, though a little on the pricey side. $26 for a salad with a chicken protein. The dressing I thought was a little weak, so I had to use a lot of it in order to get the flavor. But I really did enjoy my salad. I would come again once in a while. Been wanting to try this place since I saw buzz online with its grand opening--sparked my interest. They are in a great spot, across from Sephora and Bloomingdale's with close by parking. It's small with decent seating in and outside, but probably won't be enough for busier times. They open at 9am. My friend and I arrived around 9:20am and completed order by 9:34am. They had customers, but wasn't busy/crowded and plenty of open seating. Let's talk about the food: I ordered veggie omelette plate, chai tea latte with pistachio milk to dine in and my friend also got the same and also their croissant. Overall, it looked fresh and beautifully presented. It was a rolled up omelette style they are trying to go for, but it was too dry and overcooked for my taste. Chai tea latte was really good and the chai is strong, which is what I like. Pistachio milk gave a nutty flavor, but subtle. My second order was for takeout: I ordered perfect egg sandwich along with two slices of banana bread to go. Total for my order was about $70 with a 15% tip for staff. My take out order was brought out to me and I assumed my items were all there. I got to it later on in the day; two slices of banana bread were missing. Extremely frustrating. I get it if they were busy and backed up, but they weren't and had a decent amount of staff on hand. This isn't some small mom and pop shop. It's a whole entity/brand, so I expected more. I reached out to them-- I'll give them credit that their customer service responded quickly. They asked to give me store credit, but I don't want it. I wanted my money back, so I'll give it a few days for my refund to show up. The on the floor staff were extremely nice and attentive though, but I'm on the fence about coming back, tbh. Coffee and iced drinks were refreshing. We ordered croissant and banana nut bread to satisfy our sweet tooth and they were both delicious. I loved the banana nut bread because it had big chucks of banana and nuts. We also ordered salmon avocado bowls and tuna poke wraps, and they were tasty, healthy and clean. My only callout would be that the sauces were too heavy and creamy for these fish dishes and needed to be more citrusy. Also, the spicy aioli sauce can be very spicy and is not ideal for those with acid reflux issues. Service was great. The entire staff was very attentive and came around to check on us and other patrons often. They were also quick. I would come back to try other foods and drinks when I'm in the area. I have been waiting for this location to open since I've seen their sign up right outside Bloomingdales for several months now. So glad to see it open. The line was long and wrapped around the store.
