Had the pizza and a salad Pizza was overly salty soggy crust. Bland other then salt flavor just no taste. Like gas station pizza. Maybe it's better in person but for $28 you would think it would be good or at least edible read more

I've driven past a number of times, but today I was in the area at dinner time, so I stopped and got a pizza to go. I'm a fan of all things anchovy, so the choice was obvious - a Calabrese Pizza! Their to-go process is really cool: you get a huge laminated number to stick under your car's rear windshield wiper and you go wait in the comfort of your car after you order and pay. The pizza was ready quickly and was quite tasty going down! read more

Pupatella - Calabrese pizza - Pizza Near Me - Reston, Virginia

Overall not bad, but very uneven in terms of quality across four different take-out visits over a three month period -- and expensive. First visit I got the "gold standard" for Neapolitan pizza; the Margherita DOC which was good, but not good enough for the price so next time tried the Classica DOC. It tasted pretty much the same -- to the point I wondered if they even used Mozzarella di Buffala for the Margherita. Next trip out I tried the Capricciosa and was extremely disappointed. Very bland and sauteed mushrooms on Neapolitan (or any) pizza? Come on! Third choice was the Meatball Pizza, and again, disappointed -- bland, even the meatballs -- and burnt. Not a few yummy charred dough blisters, but the entire crust looked like charcoal. Suspect that if this had been an eat-in order it never would have made it out of the kitchen. My son's pizza was basically raw in the middle so thinking they had their "B Team" on the oven that night. Also have tried the Arancini and Mozzarella Ball appetizers, and again, not bad but nothing special, certainly not for the price. And before saying "Well you just don't understand Neapolitan pizza," full disclosure: I lived in Campania for three years with a Water Buffalo pasture practically in my back yard, and bought fresh mozzarella from the guy that milked the buffalo that morning... Not to mention the number of pizzerias within walking distance from my house. read more

Pizza was great. Service was meh. The place was busy with curbside and take-out. Gelato was not a hit for me. I got to taste 4 different pizzas since there were 6 of us and we all ordered something different. I did the meat pizza with white sauce instead of red and it was a hit with everyone. I also loved the prosciutto and arugula one. The pesto pizza was fresh. The carmelized onion and sausage was my least favorite and it was okay. read more

Tombstone pizza is better than this place. This pizza had no flavor! I could have made a better pizza in my e-bake oven. This crap was cold and lifeless. It needed more than CPR.. it needed a new cook & new recipe and a prayer for hope. read more

The Food is very good is really too bad that the service is terrible the Arlington location is much better.

The 2 pizza we ordered for takeout with mint gelato as dessert was superb, excellent & awesome (I give 5 stars for good tasting food) I ordered the custom pizzas ( tomato sauce, Gruyere, Nonna's meatballs, sautéed onions, Roasted red peppers... It was yummy I recommend making your own pizza... Service was the reason I left a star out as well as the food was quite pricey $$$ I did curbside... I called & a gentleman came out fairly quickly after the call... but didn't have all that I ordered Started to walk away and had to stop him and tell him that not all of my order is not here.. he left with a quick nod of his head went back into the restaurant... saw him come back out but not back to me but instead started helping other customers I Waited a little bit long hoping he would remember me but didn't... so I called back and ask if they remembered to bring out the rest of my order... She apologized and another gentleman came out promptly and gave the rest of my order He apologized & I told him thank you for fixing the problem Overall not bad I Will definitely order again read more

This place must be under new management. I've seen several new people and not so much of the others. Spoke with Aaron today, and the service and food was great! Keep it up! read more

I first ate here when this restaurant first opened, and service was chaotic at best. However, we have gone there an average of once a month since then, and I'm very happy to say things have really turned around. Pizzas are made and delivered to tables quickly, they are quite tasty, and their lemonade is excellent as well. My husband is a fan of their beer selection. Although we haven't tried their house-made gelato, it always looks good. read more

Very slow service, took quite some time to be acknowledged at the entrance. After being seated, we were forgotten about until one of us mentioned it to a worker. The staff outnumbered the the people eating and many were standing around chatting with one another. Definitely will not be coming back seeing as I actually value my time. read more

The difference in service and competency between this location and the original Arlington location is incredible. I counted 14 employees, "working" which is a generous statement given that we waited nearly 40 minutes for three pies. Instead of worrying about masks, worry about service. To summarize, abysmal service is a compliment. read more

Absolutely awful. The customer service here is pitiful. I never yelp, but this place should close the doors. Order wasn't started when was ordered. Had to wait. Pizza came very undercooked to chewy and barely any cheese. We definitely were shorted on the meatballs on the pie. We decided against the tiramisu and the manger rolled his eyes at us as we were inconveniencing him. There were 10 employees in there, zero customers and they still screwed it up. This was my first time and last time there. Horrible. Wouldn't recommend if I was starving. However, the gelato was excellent, but when wanted to cancel the tiramisu it was already paid for. The manager or employee rolled his eyes and actually said it was a 2 dollar difference. He actually wanted to refund the tiramisu on my credit card and make us pay for the another pint of gelato. We already had purchased one. The manager literally put 2 scoops on a cup and said this about 7 dollars worth and handed it to us with no cover on it. Mind you it's 90 degrees out and it's a to go order. When asked for a lid he said " I don't have one". read more

The staff were really friendly, manager greeted our tables and service was over the roof ! pizza was amazing! I ordered the chorizo pizza. It was good. it's a very nice location. definitely would recommend read more

Meatballs literally tastes like we're out of a can. They were served cold too. Our salad had anchovies in it despite it not saying so in the menu. The anchovies were so fishy it was gross. The pizza was also only cut into four slices. Toppings literally slid off the pizza because there was too much sauce and it wasn't cooked enough. Seats and tables were also not wiped down. Grease stained with crumbs. Do not come here. read more

Absolutely fabulous and bulletproof. This was our 4th order from Pupatella Reston. We ordered the Chorizo, Eggplant & Red Pepper (added pepperoni), Buffala Bianca and a make your our pizza (pesto, italian sausage, spinach). Generous and very high quality toppings. Great that you can switch to buffalo mozzarella, which is rare. Pizzas are always well made and cooked (not under or over-cooked). Staff is great and friendly and pull-up/curbside pick-up works great. Best of all, they are consistently great. We are pizza nuts. We make dough from scratch and have our own wood-fired pizza oven. Pupatella is a great substitute when we don't fire up the oven. Highly recommended. A great addition to Reston restaurants! read more

Do me a favor and do a quick scroll down the 3 star or less reviews. Almost every single one is from someone who is like "I prefer thicker pizza" or "I didn't expect it to be so floppy!" Like, someone literally posted in their review that they had to search what Neapolitan-style pizza was and gave it less stars because they didn't expect that lol. Surprise to them! It's not a New York slice or deep dish. And for what it's supposed to be, it's perfect. I've gone to the Wilson Blvd location and now this one and I've never been disappointed. So fresh and delicious and light. I also really appreciate that they have BEEF pepperoni, a rarity at almost every pizza place in the area. Some tips: add arugula onto everything and try the EGGPLANT as a topping. We found our fave topping combo was eggplant, roasted garlic, and roasted tomatoes. I also love the fried mozzarella balls! read more

If you like traditional Neapolitan pizza, this is the place. My favorite is the Diavola is my favorite.

Fantastic service and delicious pizza. Especially want to call out Davonte for his amazing service.

Great Pizza ! But you have to eat it right there on the spot just out of the oven , The environment is great, nice Italian music, great staff, This pizza is not the franchise ones, that have preservatives and looks the same after many days You have to eat it right there, forget about delivery, enjoy life, and get out from the house... delicious pizza, i particularly like the crust. food was fresh and fast. crew were friendly

Very good pizza, not as good as the Neapolitan pizzas at Crust in Vienna, but pretty good. Eat it at the restaurant right out of the oven, inside or outside in nice weather. If you need to take it home, we recommend reheating, as instructed on the carryout box. BTW, on the way home, the carryout box should be placed on plastic since somethings will soak through. read more

Frightening experience at this location yesterday. After waiting 20+ minutes for drink refill, entered restaurant from outside seating. Stepped just inside entry, no mask. Two employees gasped as if they had seen the devil. (There were at least 12 people inside without masks.) Manager rushed over, told me to leave. Then he brought the refill--with a warning. "Do not enter my restaurant without a mask." I was barely inside, more than six feet away from other people. Told manager I was tired of waiting for service. His reply: "Next time you will have to wait longer." Odd that someone in the hospitality business would act this way. He could have asked me politically to don mask, but instead felt it necessary to threaten me. As for the pizza, soggy and tasteless. Ben F. read more

I was told of their pizza and that it was amazing, and something right out of Italy. Having lived in Italy for several years, I wanted to try it out. Ordered online on a Friday night. Must have been busy because the online order, placed at 6:35 told us pickup time was 8:05 PM. We weren't in a rush, so we placed the order. Arrived at 8:03, and we were told "Take this number and put it in the windshield". This wasn't a good sign. I went outside and saw 20 other cars parked with numbers in their windows. We sat and watched runners coming out with orders, taking forever, and going from car to car looking for the right number. There was no system or process they were following. At 8:25 I went inside and asked "where's the order, and what's the point of giving a time if you aren't going to have the order ready?" It was mass chaos with people running around, and the response was "we are doing the best we can". At 8:40, a girl came up to our car with the two pizzas and some appetizers and asked "James?". I said no, and said Bob. She said "Oh, sorry - this is yours, I was thinking of my boyfriend". The pizza was good, appetizers were good, but I drove 20 minutes to get there, waited another 35 minutes past the order time to get my order, and by the time we got home, had to heat it up again. 75 minutes round-trip is not worth it for a pizza that wasn't spectacular. We determined that because of the chaos and because of their inability to live up to their commitments, we are done, and will go with our local pizza shops that are just as good. read more

Updating my review and I'm basing this strictly on the quality of the pies. I'm going to cite two of my regular spots - Italian Store and Crust Pizzeria in Herndon. Both are bar none, top of their craft. In my opinion, the quality of the pies still don't live up to the standards of a true Neapolitan pizza. I appreciate the opportunity to return, but I don't see myself coming back ever. read more

Can't believe their is authentic Napoletana pizza in the DMV. When I first walked into the restaurant it felt like I was back in Rome or Sienna eating at a pizzeria. Amazing. The staff was super friendly and the manager came to our table to make sure we were happy. Highly recommended. read more

Pizza was good, once you get it. The two tables on either side of ours ordered 20-25 min after us and got their food 15 min before us. Almost a 50 minute wait for us. The Arancini with eggplant was good but dry and needed some kind of sauce, which cost an extra &1.06 for a small container. To their credit they gave us a coupon for a free pizza next time. read more

I had the worst customer experience at a restaurant in my life! The sad thing is that I was a regular customer. It all begin innocently enough with the staff monopolizing the restrooms. We waited for over 15 minutes and finally knocked on the door of one of two bathroom only to find that staff were hanging out in the restrooms. When we complained to the manager he quickly got defensive and escalated the situation. We will never return! read more

Without question the best pizza in NoVA. The crust and sauce are perfectly balanced. The beef pepperoni is fantastic and something one doesn't normally find on a pizza menu. If I had one criticism, and this is so very minor, it would be that their beer options are a bit underwhelming. Not a deal breaker by any means. read more

Omg my friend recommended I give pupatella a try and I was not disappointed!!!! I've tried 3 different pizzas from here and can tell you they're an amazing restaurant chain. The pizza is so authentic and refreshing. The only downside to pupatella is it can get SO busy that you have to make sure you order and reserve a time a couple hours before. The first time we tried them, we tried to order at 6 pm and they had nothing available till 8:30 pm. I showed up around 8:15 but the pizza wasn't done till exactly 8:30. So make sure you order way before. None the less would definitely recommend this place! read more

Ordered a Diavola pizza for takeout tonight and it was absolutely delicious. The BEST pizza I've had in a long time! Loved the chewy crust.

My party of three showed up at 6pm on a Saturday, were promptly seated in an empty section, and told that someone would come to take our order. We were then ignored for 15 minutes. No drink orders. No waters. They were not busy. We saw a few kitchen staff standing around idle but no wait staff. They seated two more tables around us. We left hungry and went elsewhere because it will only get worse during dinner rush. read more

It was an awesome, fun and safe experience. Great variety of pizza (My 2 friends and I ordered 4 different types). My favorite is the Smoked Salmon. The service is excellent, and the staff is doing a good job of ensuring COVID guidelines are adhered to.
