Brown Butter Bourbon Bread Puddin' with Ice Cream
    Chinyere U.

Lawdddddddddddddddd! If you have even been to NOLA or SC for desserts honey go ahead and add this location in DC! Let me just say, I was NOT ready for all of the goodness and mercy packed inside of this cup! The bread pudding is soooo moist and flavorful! There is like a combo of vanilla, cinnamon, bourbon and bread in one cup and then they have the AUDACITY to top it with vanilla ice cream!!!!! Yall!!! I casually walked over to my friends with this cup, they took my spoon and took turns eating ALL of my bread pudding! When I say this is WORTH that extra gym session...trust me! The staff members are so kind and friendly. Also, you KNOW food is top tier when they let you sample it!!!! Chileeeeee go ahead and get a cup! Located in UNION MARKET, so prepare to park accordingly! I also love the pretty pink decor all throughout the booth! Well done!!!

The food was really good and definitely gave you that Louisiana flair. The gumbo had the right kick to it and was delicious. The bread pudding had a noticeable rum flavor, which I really enjoyed. The customer service was great, and they even let you try everything before purchasing. I really enjoyed this restaurant!.. when im back in DC will try it again.

I went to Union Market today to work. I was there late morning and it wasn't very busy so I decided to get Puddin' for an early lunch. I got the shrimp n grits with fried shrimp as recommended by the staff member who took my order. It was delicious. The parm grits are well seasoned and paired perfectly with the hot, crispy shrimp. Puddin' is great comfort food in a fast casual setting. I will definitely repeat this order.

Look for this sign in Union Market.

Delicious food, especially the Gumbo, shrimp and butter bourbon bread pudding. Workers were all kind, welcoming and respectful.

Had Mother's Day brunch with a friend and decided to walk to Union Market for dessert. We haven't been to Puddin' in a minute so we headed to that food stall. Immediately greeted when we walked up to place our order. Service was fast probably because they didn't have to cook anything. OMG, the Puddin's Famous Brown Butter Bourbon Bread Puddin' was so good. Not too sweet, perfect crumb to the bread with some crispy bits to bring it home, moist and the perfect amount of bourbon. Definitely worth more trips to Union Market.

This is a Louisiana based southern comfort food. The bread pudding was amazing but wait until you try the Etoufee or the Gumbo. It will bring you back to that Louisiana cooking. Servers are so pleasant and very happy providing free sample to make your decision easy. Make sure you order the sweet ice tea as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is located in Union Market so best for a take out or eat at the food court or outside seating area on a nice day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely casual place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Celebrate Black History month by supporting Black owned businesses! Join me Next up, Puddin' Black owned business Black woman owned This order was purchased through UberEats and I couldn't be more happier that I did. Well packaged as you can see and fresh. The shrimp po'boy was DELICIOUS! I'll breakdown the flavors starting with the bread. That was some of the most soft and fresh baked bread that I've ever had. Not sure if it's baked at the location but the level of freshness was amazing. Next, have you ever experienced a flavor collision dish? That's when the right flavors are paired together and your taste buds spirals into a collision lol deliciousness overload!!!!! It started with the shrimps, which I only wished were fried a little more to prevent the batter from slipping off because of the moisture surrounding it. Nonetheless, they were fresh, quite generous, and bursting with flavor. Also not overcooked. Paired with a sauce and another sauce from the coleslaw, this dish gave a little sweet and a little spicy at the same time-loved it. Great quality for the price. Definitely plan to visit in person.

I've been CRAVING some banging Southern food, and I found it here on a whim. Puddin used to be a food truck but is now a stall in Union Market. The staff are so sweet, I was originally tempted by the free samples, and wow... I really trust them because of their transparency, and I love how they literally let me try everything on the menu before ordering. That shows me also how they KNOW their food is good enough to make people wanna buy and try more!!! Étouffée has been on my list to try, and I'm so happy I got to try it here. I absolutely love Cajun and Southern food (gumbo and jambalaya are some of my favorites) so I was curious how the flavors here would live up to what I remember from New Orleans. The étouffée was creamy and incredibly flavorful. So rich!!! I ordered the stew served with rice instead of grits, and it had fragrant Cajun spices, deep seafood flavor, and a creamy roux. So delicious when warm. The fried shrimp on top were perfection too--juicy, plump shrimp!! EAT THE STEW WHEN IT'S STEAMING HOT AND FRESHLY POURED!! Also, get the iced tea. Like genuinely, it was so good. Better than an Arnold Palmer and better than any sweet tea I've ever had. Sweet but perfectly balanced with lemon, and it tasted so fresh. Gosh, I miss it already. I definitely wanted to order their famous brown bourbon bread pudding, but I needed a little sugar break after pastries in the morning lol. I will be back, and I will conquer that bread pudding. Believe me!!!!

Perfect. Service was exceptional--we were catered to and that enticed us to buy. Everything was delicious. I had never had bread pudding but wow was there's the perfect pairing with gumbo/et tuffe. I'm not sure if other bread pudding is this good but I know I love theirs here! The tea and lemonade was tasty. The pink, packaging, premade products, booth design, & owner story are all so attractive. So glad this was my first restaurant experience at Union Market. Go, enjoy!!!

When I saw I could get shrimp etouffee in Union Market, I knew I had to try it. When we arrived at the stand, they asked if we wanted to sample anything. I sampled the etouffee and it was incredible so I ordered it with steamed shrimp. It had so much flavor, I could have licked the cup after. It had a bit of a kick, but I didn't find it too spicy. The portion size was also good for the price. I also got an order of the bourbon bread pudding. The bread pudding was great, just be aware that the bourbon flavor is very strong. Union Market has great places to try, but I would highly recommend trying Puddin'.

My favorite place in union market! The food is delicious, I got their Shrimp Etouffee which was seasoned very well and had a nice spicy kick. Their bread pudding is also really good. The service was pretty quick!

I only go to Union Market solely for Puddin! Their bread pudding is really good and pairs nicely with vanilla ice cream and comes in three sizes! I usually get the medium and eat half there and save the rest (which is so hard to do because it's really good!) I also went to New Orleans recently and unfortunately couldn't not find great spots to eat but this storefront in Union market makes really good etoufee and po'boy shrimp sandwiches! Next beignets! But service is always friendly and efficient!

Another area for improvement was the frequency in which the waiter checked our table, especially since we had bottomless mimosas. It was such a great drink for the beautiful sunny day it was. Our server was Deja and she was wonderful. She was prompt and we saw her often, which was appreciated. The check is done via QR code which was very easy. We had a slight issue with our check not pulling up, but she quickly resolved. Again, the food doesn't really suit my preferences (heavy meat options), but I would definitely pop back for a drink.

The staff was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The only downside to our visit was the live band performing inside the restaurant. While the music added to the atmosphere, it was so loud that we couldn't comfortably hear the people at our table or have a conversation. Because of the noise level, we ultimately chose to move to the outdoor seating, where we were able to enjoy our meal and each other's company much more comfortably.

The outdoor area approaching was really nice and had a pleasant vibe, and the inside ambiance was cool too -- good atmosphere overall. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. We were told we couldn't be seated in a booth because of a section closure, but about 10 minutes later a family was seated in that same section. When we asked about it, we were told staff "thought the staff was leaving" -- which didn't really add up and felt like an inconsistent excuse. It also took about 20 minutes for anyone to greet our table, and another 10 minutes after that just to get water. Once we did order, there wasn't much guidance from staff -- no recommendations on best sellers or specifics about the entrees, just general "it's good" responses across the board. Food-wise, it was a mixed bag: Seafood egg rolls -- really good Stuffed shrimp -- really good Spinach dip -- not the best Lamb chops (my entree) -- two good ones, two very fatty chops that were not good around 8/10 they were seasoned well! Mashed potatoes -- not good Spinach side -- not good bland, needed seasoning Mac n cheese -- pretty good Overall the meat itself was underwhelming given the price point/expectations, seasoning was it! The food had some genuine highlights, but between the slow service, the seating mix-up, and a few misses on the sides, the overall experience didn't quite live up to expectations. Might give it another shot for the ambiance, but hoping for better service next time!

We had three different servers throughout the meal, which may have been due to staffing challenges. While everyone was pleasant, the experience lacked consistency. I also noticed the manager/general manager circulating through the dining room but never stopping by our table to greet us or check on our experience, which felt like a missed opportunity, especially as first-time guests celebrating a special occasion. For drinks, I ordered the Hurricane and my partner had the Sazerac. Both were enjoyable, although the Hurricane was served in a glass packed with ice, making it feel like I finished the actual cocktail in just a few minutes. We started with the Pommes Souffle. Unfortunately, they didn't meet expectations. Rather than being light, airy, and crispy, they were somewhat flat and soft, almost as if they had been sitting too long. For our entrees, I had the Blackened Catfish Creole and my partner ordered the Grilled Tuna au Poivre. Both dishes were flavorful and well-prepared. The catfish was especially enjoyable. The tuna tasted good as well, though we expected it to be sliced thin to better absorb the sauce and complement the dish. We also ordered a side of red beans and rice, which was a nice addition. Dessert was a highlight. The panna cotta and chocolate cheesecake with raspberry sorbet were both excellent and ended the meal on a strong note. Overall, I expected a bit more given the restaurant's Michelin recognition displayed at the hostess stand. While there were certainly some bright spots, particularly the entrees and desserts, the overall experience didn't quite live up to the anticipation.
