This place is a national treasure. Best burger in the world. Coldest beer in the state.

Great local favorite that has been around for ages! This is a full bar that serves up the best prices in town! Get in here for cold beer and great prices and don't be shy! Try the food too, Terry and his crew will hook you up, proper! You can play some pool or watch a game on one of the tvs. Darts and jukebox are inside too. Remember to bring quarters for the pool table and don't forget to bring a few friends!!!

This is a very cool hidden bar! Me and the bestie came last night since we both had a hard week, and were in need of fried food and ice cold drinks. We got a pitcher of IPA to share, as well as a few shots. I love that they serve your beer in a chilled mug! The shots were tasty, had the Starburst and lemon drop. Food was very good, and so cheap! We had the fried pickles, fried Mac and cheese, mozzarella sticks, and fish and chips. The service was as good as it could be for being a busy Friday night, and only 1 server working. Will definitely be coming back !

Nice lil hidden dive bar.. ice cold beer on tap just like I love it! Got a little sampler basket with fried poppers, mushroom, rolled taquitos and gator tots it was ok as bar food gets, but I would definitely be back for my cold dos xx on draft and the nice service ...

This is my go-to place for cheap beer and the burgers are very good too. It is a dive bar, so don't mind the layer of dust on the blinds lol

Just right. Really good dive bar. The cheese burger and two drinks for $11.00! Not fancy but nice and good service.

Good neighborhood spot for a burger and a beer. The patty melt is awesome. Both drink prices and food prices are very reasonable.

    When does the kitchen close?

The grill closes at midnight, which is one of the latest food options that you will find in a bar in the area. Having said that, don't come in at 12:01 and expect them to cook because that usually won't happen. To be safe, I would make sure that I… Read more

Chupacabra was open, was a three-minute drive, and had excellent reviews. So my decision was made. I parked on the street for free a minute away on foot. Ambiance (3.5/5): Pretty much your typical beer bar. Relatively small inside, but they also have a patio out front with picnic style seating. Casual. My type of bar. My only complaint? I hate picnic style seating because it doesn't give you back support. Which made me want to avoid the patio. Service (5/5): Super friendly service. The guy working the bar did a great job. I ordered one beer and called it a night. A seamless experience from beginning to end. They also have complimentary water in a water cooler, which is always a nice ou Food (N/A): I read they have food trucks, but I didn't see any when I visited. I had dinner prior anyway. Drinks (4.5/5): I love trying new beers and Chupacabra has an excellent selection. They have a rotating screen above the bar. Some interesting brews, ranging from local craft brews to quality European beers. This is not the type of place that has your typical assortment of mediocre beers. You'll find a lot better here. Overall, a cool spot in downtown Mesa. I'd definitely return the next time I'm in the neighborhood!

My first pint was a Hefeweizen. It had a slight waxy mouthfeel. My second pint was an oatmeal stout. At 7.3% ABV it was a tad strong, but it went down very smoothly. There are so many breweries and pubs around here that there's pretty tough competition. As other reviewers have stated, their duck fat fries are great! So crispy and the herbs really elevate it. They can be a little heavy handed with the salt to the point where you may see salt piles on your fries, but at least the salt granules are larger and can be easily swept off. Although their fries are great on their own, they unfortunately struggle to strand up when loaded. I'm not sure how they do it, but we've been to places where fries can remain crispy even when loaded with toppings. Their poutine is still tasty though if you don't mind your fries soggy. Their burgers have great beefy flavor, but after trying a few of their burger options, my partner and I also feel that some other places do their unique burger stylings a bit better. A lot of the toppings overwhelm rather than contribute to the overall burger. There's plenty of searing both indoors and out. You have bar top, high table, and regular table style seating for indoors. There's plenty of 4 person tables outdoors under shade and also with misters on if it's hot out. Indoor seating offers plenty of viewing for sports. Service is also pleasant. Due to how they source their ingredients, the overall menu is on the pricier side. Although my partner and I prefer other breweries more, we do think it's still worth it to try visiting Arizona Wilderness Brewing at least once.
