The most horrific Customer Service in ALL Departments it is inept. Totally untrained. Make you feel unwelcome, doesn't know their products nor where it is located. And REFUSE TO HELP YOU. The pharmacy hires who knows who and are ridiculous and at times breaks the law by holding scripts. There is a LAW in Florida that this activity by a Florida Pharmacy is illegal. The store itself is fine. Customer service, management, and inventory are grossly lacking. If you have deli employees tripled-up making subs while there are multiple customers collecting dust in line for the cold cuts & cheese section of the deli with one employee, allocate your people properly. Need help with that? The Deli Manager can actually step out of the office and supervise where support is needed, not to mention get off his lazy ass, put some gloves & a cap on, and serve the customers. Produce Manager, here's a novel idea: If you're going to have specials, you might want to consider stocking the shelves with those specials. It usually looks better than empty holes because the stock people blocked off sections to cover up what you should have ordered. Front Service Desk/Store Management: If there is a line at the service counter and only one employee, telling everyone waiting, "Someone will be right with you," doesn't quite cut it. Also, if a manager sees that the service counter is overwhelmed with a single employee, get behind the extra register and handle it. Don't ask a customer, "Have you been helped, yet?" If someone had helped us, we wouldn't still be standing in line waiting for management to step up and provide support. Get it together. read more

It's Publix, so things can't be too bad here. Publix is a pretty great grocery store as you can tell from other reviews from people who live out of state and wish they had a Publix in their city. This Publix is the closest one to where I live so I shop here quite frequently, but it's not my favorite Publix. The store itself is a bit older and dingy but other than that they carry great products and the service is good here. All the the things I love about Publix is the deli selections and how they let you sample the different meats and cheeses, the bakery is always pumping out delicious fresh breads, the sushi available is decent, and of course Publix subs always hit the spot. I also enjoy the fresh flowers available for purchase, and every now and then I catch a sample of a Publix recipe being offered. read more

It's absolutely annoying that I waited 15mins until it was my turn because Publix Deli is always understaffed.....they had one person working on online orders and the other attending the rest. Once it's my turn, I asked for a chickens tender sub. The young girl walks away to look for some and then informs me there's none for another 15mins. She didn't even offer any solutions which reflects her training and management is responsible for her poor customer service. What kind of management is this. I stopped doing online orders because they were wrong or never ready when I get there. Instead of having a pita chips display, why doesn't Publix add two more sandwich stations and more staff....But in all honestly, they should be communicating to each other if they ran out of food. Lotto line is ALWAYS delayed by a red headed lady, Kim. Just describing her so you know who it is. She's slow to count, always requires additional support, never very friendly. Not sure why they don't take her off these duties as she ties up the line and never seems to improve in the 2+ years of going to this location. I only go here because it is close, but with all the delays, her lack of training or lack of comprehending how to perform her job function, this is a deal killer. I could easily drive 15 miles away and be done in the same amount of time that it takes her to reconcile her multiple counts and have her coworkers solve her repeated missteps. (Loading register paper, lotto machine jamming, etc) fix this issue or just put her behind a register where no counting takes place and this location is easily three or four stars. Management, get with it and get Kim away from the little line, she's a mess! P.S. So after she acknowledges me, no remorse for the super long wait or the delay she is directly responsible for, she proceeds to help me with an unpleasant attitude, and then complains to her coworker that she is about to go on break. Listen, you are making people wait through your own lack of understanding of your job functions so if I have to wait, the least you could do is greet us kindly and also not complain about your break coming up. The issue is you're killing hours on the clock and causing customer displeasure. Not sure how she still has a job. read more

I wish Publix management taught their new hires how to treat their customers. In the past, you'd get at least a smile or acknowledgement that you'd made your transaction but not anymore. Today no word from cashier. I initiated a thank you and I received a dead pan stare from her. Last week same thing except the cashier said "yep" after I thanked her for ringing me up. At least she made clear her feelings about her job. This is yet another reason these kids are going to be the reason automaton takes over. No interpersonal skills whatsoever. Sad. Walked through this store as part of a business exercise, and while it's not one of the most updated ones I've seen pictures of, it's nice enough. I am absolutely a fan of this Publix. It's easy to get to for me, being a right turn off Fowler or an easy left turn off 53rd St. in Temple Terrace. Publix has a handful of familiar layouts so if you shop at Publix all the time you know the layouts of each store. It's easy to find what you're looking for. This is a nicer Publix without being a super fancy Publix. You'll know where everything is without getting confused like you might at the biggest fancy Publix's. For people who might live in South Temple Terrace or outside of Temple Terrace to the south, say 56th and Hillsborough or East Lake Park, let me say that this Publix is much nicer to visit than the Publix on the corner of 56th and Busch Blvd. Trust me, it is worth the extra 5 minutes to drive down to this Publix, where you have plenty of space in the store and a much more spacious parking lot. read more

I missed my Publix while away on a travel nurse assignment. I went to get a few things and spoke with Chris who was stocking the aisle. As I was trying to decide on an item, a woman and ~10y/o walked by without a mask. I said, "Whoa! Why aren't you wearing masks?" I was ignored and before I left the aisle, I asked Chris if people aren't required to wear masks. He said they couldn't enforce it since it was not a law. I said the company can make policies. He just shrugged. At checkout, I asked the cashier and bakery manager if it was true that didn't enforce mask wearing and was told the same thing. A manager made his way to my register (I didn't ask for him) and said that corporate has passed it down that they would not enforce mask wearing. He said that if someone came in without a mask they would offer them one but couldn't force anyone to wear one. I said that if someone refuses to wear a mask then you ask them to leave. I'm gonna be petty, and leave a review for this Publix. What I will say is that as far as the workers go, everyone is very nice, smiles, and is generally pleasant. With that being said, I generally only come here for fresh produce and things I can't get from Winn Dixie, because I'm not partial to Winn-Dixie's unpredictable produce selection. As far as price goes, stuff from Publix can low-key start to add up exponentially. If I got everything on my grocery list that I needed from here, I might as well go to Whole Foods or Fresh Market instead. Don't be fooled just because it's not a speciality store, depending on your selection stuff from Publix can add up quickly. I also don't think that the meat/fish selection warrants the prices that they charge you. Might as well go to Whole Foods, and spend a few more of your coins to get something better. Thank you, next. Today's visit was to buy my parents anniversary cake. The bakery has so many options I chose the fruit tart to celebrate this special event. The fruits were fresh and the tart itself was delicious. Do not have any prescriptions filled here. I am a nursing professional my daughter had her prescription transferred from Land O Lakes to this location due to moving. She was treated with such disrespect and judgement. The "pharmacy Tech" told her it was scary that she was trying to get her prescription filled early when she was just transferring it. This is a blatant example of prejudice and unprofessionalism on the part of this Publix location. Do yourself a favor and go some where else. There are those that need to be on controlled substances. I usually do most of my grocery shopping at Wal-mart and just get the few things that I can't find at Wal-Mart at whatever grocery store near. Going to this Publix was a pleasant surprise. This Publix is very different from the other ones I've shopped at, which is odd because I thought they all followed the same template when it comes to customer service and making shopping a pleasure and all that. It seems the staff-or at least a good portion of it-isn't so friendly at this store, especially at the deli/sub station. I will say that they consistently have the longest lines for Pub Subs at any given time of day but that's still no excuse. Knowing this, I decided to pre-order my sub online, thinking this would alleviate most of the inevitable waiting. Turns out-they never made it, along with the subs belonging to the other hangry people standing there who had also pre-ordered. One of them looked at me and said, "This happens all the time! Online ordering is a joke at this store!" So I grabbed a pre-made sub and left. If it's not the deli, it's the stock-people leaving a cart full of unpacked product in the aisles, which is also somewhat consistent with this store. Now when I have to shop, I make a game out of it and get in and out as fast as possible. I would shop somewhere else but it's too close and convenient not to shop here. I shop here pretty frequently and the service is always great. The employees are great and personable. The shelves are stocked and organized and they generally have what I need. When you get the bogo deal it is the best! They have them frequently and when they do it is worth it. The produce can be quite pricey from time to time. Something else to watch out for is the white stripes outside in the parking lot on the ground when it is raining. They can become rather slippery. read more

I love Publix. The people are great. Parking is easy. The variety is great. They have Boars Head at the deli. I could go on. But this Publix is particular is frustrating me more and more with the out of stocks on sale items. It's hard to plan shopping trips using the sales flyer when 6 out of 8 of the sale items I go in planning to buy are out of stock. I've tried going on different days and times yet I encounter the same problem. It's a pain to spend 10 minutes while my frozen food is melting to get rain checks for the out of stock items. I love this Publix so much. This was my regular Publix when I was a child and it still is the one I choose to shop in. Most of the staff is very helpful and friendly. If I ask where an item is located, instead of just telling me the aisle, they walk you there. The produce is very fresh and excellent quality. The weekly sales and Buy one Get one Sales are an added plus. This store has a decent organic section that includes produce, dairy, meat, and dry goods. The floral section is also very nice with many different bouquet and floral display options to choose from. I also love that this location has two separate entrances which helps with parking. The location of this Publix is great in reference to USF. I like that you can get to it from the back roads(50th street) and avoid the busy main roads like fowler and 56th street. I come here for the weekly 'bogos' or buy 1 get one free items. The friendly staff and clean store make me come back time after time. The fruits and veggies are in the back left corner when you walk in, so you have to walk through the entire store if you just need a tomato for a recipe. I always buy their vegetarian items like morning Star but find it frustrating that their vegetarian and vegan items are in two different locations.
