This place is dirty and not well kept, I canceled my reservation after just seeing the area and how bad the walls and floors where so dirty.

warning*warning* do not use this facility. i had my things in a 10 x10 3 weeks and it was broken into from the empty unit behind me. the grounds are not secured. they let anyone through the gate and once on the property its fair game. the staff was not cooperative. they still charged me for the month and refused to give me credit. the staff told me the locks they use on empty units is easily picked by the thieves. do not use this facility. this is so frustrating and public storage managers do nothing. also several units have been broken into also. crappy cameras and poor lighting. please spread the word do not use this facility. they units have sheetrock for walls and is worthless. i'm still dealing with these morons. you've been warned. read more

This has been the worst experience that I personally had to experience and I have never heard of any of my clients experience anything close to what I am about to tell you. I rented a unit for $1 and I left within my one month and because I did not cancel the autopay I was charged over $300 for the empty unit. Clearly I felt this was a mistake. It could have been my fault too. However, when speaking with Dawn the District Manager and her Supervisor Ken it was made clear that their policy does not REFUND. Not only was that made clear to me but also their customer service and attitude was hurtful. I would give them the benefit of the doubt that this is a policy and there was a contract that needs to be honored. However, when their own trained property manager specifies different and all parties have proof then there should be an exception to contract or a simply penalty fee. Instead, it is clear that public storage upper management do not care for their customers rather their bottom line. They insisted to repeat the same phrase which I do not have word for word, however, it was told to me by several different representatives that they DO NOT REFUND AUTOPAY. So I paid over $300 for a storage that I closed properly within my one month $1 period and they will most likely rent out. Not to mention this was the worst maintained public storage. The property manager was super nice and it has nothing to do with her. Unfortunately, she does not have the resources and most likely upper management does not care to make the right choices. As a realtor, I have already started spreading the word to fellow realtors and to my clients to NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH PUBLIC STORAGE. I plan to contact the Better Business Bureau and spend countless hours making sure my money that was taking for NO SERVICES will be the worth every penny to myself. I hope that this gets out to the hire-ups and they change their policy or everyone who is charge of running this unethical practice decides to do the right thing and make a change. read more

I was contacted by a higher up in regards to this review. I appreciate the effort they put forth but the message was they couldn't do anything. I recommended to re-evaluate the market in this area because down the street it was the same price as when i checked 3 years ago. Oddly on my first day to move out all the locks on the rows of the units were missing but my row and the next one and the lock had been changed. I was never alerted to this and wasted hours waiting for someone to show up or return a call. The next day i followed up (no one returned my call) and got the new combo. The response i got was that i should have been alerted.....but i wasn't. so long. read more

Think twice about using Public Storage if you are wanting a long term solution. They exploit the fact you don't want to move your stuff and raise your rent annually. Here we are in a recession and they have raised my rent each year. I am now paying 22% more than when I first started. So don't get roped in on the $1 first month special. Energy cost and salaries and taxes aren't up 22% so the only conclusion you can reach is gouging the customer. I am hoping my situation changes and I can move my stuff before my rent is up 33%. read more

NO STARS REVIEW.....People this place is disgusting, Trashy, Homeless People, probably living or just hanging around all day in storages and hallways. Inside storages walls or drywall have cracks, like opposite side of storages try to break in. Storages are dirty inside, with rat droppings . I was backing up my car and ran over a big rat. It was really disgusting. My Sister rented a storage here online without knowing how terrible these storages are kept. I do not RECOMMEND this storage site...Please go and see, before you rent space. Many items that I stored in the storage were stolen. This place is dirty with rodents, which bite to many boxes. This public storage should be worth no star. I wish that I can leave the comment with no star. The office doesn't help when our belongings were stolen. We rent their space for fee and they doesn't have any responsibility to the space. This is a worst location ever. Got moved in a week, the storage was robbed. Put in a call to speak to a manager for almost 2 weeks. Finally got a call from Dawn phone# 707-595-8472, one of the manager at Public Storage, all she can say that to file a police report, and get reimbursed from the insurance company, and there is nothing they can do to compensate for the loss, even for the reimbursement for the monthly rent. What kind of management is this? Please watch out for this location and is the worst manager that I have dealt with. read more

Public storage is such a shady company! They will raise the rent on you for no reason. Be sure that if you are moving out, you leave towards the end of the month. They will charge you a full month no matter what day you move out. Tried many times to get a hold of the "district manager" and no answer. Asked for his email address and nothing. Public storage corporate won't help you out either. They just refer you to the "district manager." This location is invested with rats. Terrible experience. I removed my stuff out of the unit April 25th which was a Sunday in Pembroke Pines Florida location and told to ladies of the Unit number and they told me just take my lock and leave it open and that be the way they know it's closed account. Oh that was crap, because 3 days later on a Wednesday I check my Public Storage account and bill generated so I said maybe this was in error so I called and got answering service and left a voice mail with a detail message and as suspected no one called. So I did a chat the representative tells me oh I need a 24-48 hours notice to close my account. Now mind you I spoke two women and one supposedly was supervisor or manager and not one time anyone said this me. Then the representative on chat to continues to say that I can set that request up but to call and confirm it went through at my location before May 1st because I will not get my refund. I'm like okay well I'm off the next day anyway so I do this but very inconvenient because I had call additional 3 times and no response. I don't live close so I'm like this ridiculous. I drove to the location where there was a woman and I explained the situation and she said yes I see the canceled request but it was for April 27th and I'm like you what okay I take it. I get the email confirmation. So like great. I asked her about my refund which was for May because I had paid for already the lady tells me oh I don't see amount here for a refund and I'm madam hello its April 27th not May when will get the refund back. She goes and said oh I see it now wanted to me to sign on a iPad confirming a refund but when I look it said 0.00 dollars. Listen the point is its May 5th and no refund of over $200.00 and no one calls you back. I called corporate you can't even leave a message. What joke never will use Public Storage again. read more

A 10x10 unit is costing $178 a month!! Totally not worth it. There is a HUGE homeless issue with many of them just hanging out. It is very creepy to go there and try to move things in because they just stare and linger around your unit. As a female it is definitely nerve wracking to go alone. Also the prices went up from $150- $178! Why??? Just because you set down new pavement? I think not. Get rid of the homeless people camping out and selling stolen crap and then you can charge a fortune. By the way they do sell stuff right in front of you, and I am pretty sure it is all stolen items I doubt all those tools and tires are there's. read more

Walked in to rent a storage and Shery was very helpful I've rented here before but she did an excellent job helping me. She showed me the space and was letting me know what to do and not what to do and I thought it was going to be a hassle because all the paperwork that had to be filled out, but they updated their system and it was quicker to do. Overall I had a great experience coming in today and I definitely recommend this facility and Shery because she is so nice and wished me a happy late birthday. read more

I don't have a particular problem with this individual facility, but I do have a BIG problem with the Public Storage Company! I've been a tenant for over 15 years in this facility. Every year they increase the rent to the point that it's now completely unaffordable. My current rent is much, much higher than the rent at any other storage facility in the area!! I asked for a rate reduction more in line with the market rents and the corporation flat out refused to budge. They do NOT appreciate their long term tenants! So BEWARE - the starting rent might be okay but if you're planning on keeping the unit long term you might want to think about look elsewhere!!! read more

The office staff was extremely knowledgeable you don't run into it and do all the right questions to ask to make sure that I knew exactly what I was getting and was making sure that I was getting the right one. I used this facility for two years while stationed out of the area. During this time my unit (and others) were broken into, and ALL items of value were stolen. Military medals, documents, stereo, bike, etc... The staff knew of the multi-unit incident, however failed to inform me. After returning and seeing the items missing, I questioned the staff. They responded by accusing me of lying. Only after I called the police did they admit to a break-in at the property. According to them, "many of the units were broken into because..." I will not say the rest as it could endanger the current users goods. They refused to compensate me for the six plus months I paid for storing useless items amounting to some empty boxes and a broken bed frame. If I could give negative stars, I would. Came in at the end of last month for a unit that could hold a couple couches, fridge, and a bedroom set. We had no idea what size to get until we met Sherry the property manager. She was able to show us all the available units and the ones she recommended. We ended up going with the one that's in a hallway. Just felt a little more secure. Turns out she recommended the perfect size for us! Everything fit perfectly. We were also able to set payments to automatically draft our card so we won't have to worry about late charges. Storage got broken into! a bunch of sketchy looking people in and out of storage, put a different lock onto my storage. Took 4 days to get the manager to cut lock off. Cops said that unit has recently been broken into due to dust residue when they dusted for finger prints a different time. Just when I had thought there was no hope, I was wrong. The customer service here was Amazing and so helpful with what I needed and wanted. I loved the fact that they made sure that the size of room I needed was enough and making sure I wasn't wasting space and paying for more than I needed too. A most unbelievably rotten storage facility. They should be shut down for health violations. A filthy, dirty location. Rats infest the place as do the human rats know as burglars. Add to this the number of homeless who manage to enter the area, defecate and/or relieve themselves at will and ...well you can imagine what this place is like. Little to no security. The place is often broken into and the management has done nothing to provide better security. Rat droppings are everywhere and filth from the outside enters the the storage areas causing layers of dirt to cover your belongings. If you wish to rent here, do so at your own peril. The fact that the front office offers a friendly face does not offset the enormously bad issues pervading this storage facility. The parent company obviously never checks their facilities. There are many other, more secure and cleaner storage companies from which to choose. Go elsewhere. read more

Dropped by to get a rental near my home and found Veronica at this location! She helped me last time at another location! Wow this women is everywhere! She was so helpful with my rental it was smooth and easy! She knew what I already needed so there wasn't much wait time! And she remembered me too! Had my stuff here for about 4 years and received several rate increases. My unit was $87 when I moved in now its up to $135!!. I found a place down the street for half the price. When I left they asked me why I was leaving and I explained the rent increase. They said they could move me to a new unit for $87...I guess they expect everyone to keep accepting the rate increases since its too much work to move! read more

Due to this facility NOT being maintained properly my unit was infested with some kind of rodent, there was feces in every single sealed box I had in there (they chewed straight through plastic totes and boxes) as well as urine that coated and destroyed irreplaceable family heirlooms. Their solutions to this problem...file an insurance claim ... sounds simple enough right...nope the insurance you are required to purchase simply sends out an email asking for receipts and pictures of the items lost ...well how do I provide a receipt for my daughters kindergarten art work? My baptismal gown? The countless pictures of her growing up? Her clothes and toys that we were keeping to pass down to her children? etc. All things that I have no receipts for. So basically I paid for 2 years to have my cherished/irreplaceable items slowly destroyed due to the incompetence of this facility.. Then I got to spend 2 days with my daughter wearing masks and gloves going through what was left balling our eyes out as we had to throw away these important items. The office staff not only refused to help us sort through this bio-hazard of a unit at their facility but their only "help" was to offer us use of their trash cans to throw away things that where destroyed, and gave us the phone number of the "manger" of this unit that was out sick of course when we needed her and were told that was the only person to call for an emergency. Disappointed is an understatement. I am disgusted with this facility and its staff. This could have been easily avoided. read more
