I wanted to reserve a storage unit but no one was at the front desk on site, so I called Public Storage's number on its Web site. Luis connected me to the branch manager, who was onsite at the facility but making her rounds. A few minutes later, she met me at the front desk & I was able to pay for the unit I needed after touring it. The app made entry & exiting both the gated parking lot & the building very easy...not once did I have to use the keypad! The facility was very clean & staff was helpful & friendly. The only thing I disliked was that the walls between the units don't reach the ceiling. This may be more convenient for fire sprinkler systems but it's also a way that these facilities seem to cut corners. I say this because I read reviews for other nearby locations & some customers complained that their units had been ransacked & robbed because people could go through the walls between units. I'm a return customer who, last time, had a break-in. Then I reported a family living in a unit. This company couldn't have cared less at the time and told ME to call the police. So I did, they came (I waited) and coudn't do anything because the property manager was not on site. So, stupidly, I came back here because I need temporary storage, only this time, I am returning as a handicapped person moving things myself. When I asked both customer service and the location for an accommodation of a lateral move, a different unit within the same building for the same size, which would (for various reasons help me out A LOT), they refused. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE, from both Stella the district manager and Brad, the guy at the location who just HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME. They have no sense of customer loyalty and, if you ask me, no sympathy for handicapped people. SHAME ON THEM. read more

l've had a great experience at the Studio City CA site at 10830 Ventura Blvd. I was downsizing units to save money and Sailboat (yes, that's this name) worked tirelessly to find me the best sized unit for me at the best rate. He was also extremely personable, took his time, and kept thinking of different ways to save me money. Who does that anymore! Do not make the mistake of renting a storage unit from any of these franchises they will hike your storage unit price at a ridiculous amount, charge fees that they never revealed before you rented and failed to be in the office when they say they are going to be. Decent storage units that don't cost a ridiculous amount are hard to find- this though is one of the worst. They have hiked the price up for a very small storage unit over the past three years, during the pandemic no less, over $100 from the move in price. Almost 100%. I have stored my items in Public Storage for 3 1/2 years at the 10830 Ventura Blvd. Studio City, CA location facility and my experience has been great. Erika has been great and so kind over the past 3 years. She has worked with me especially when I was late with my payments. I am a senior and she has always been so understanding. I praise all of the staff at Public Storage. Everyone has been so kind over the years. Brad has also been so helpful as well. Grace, Jasmine, Jorge and others have been so helpful over the years. I just hope and pray that my new storage facility will provide me with the same excellent customer service I have received at the 10830 Ventura Blvd, Studio City. Very friendly front desk staff, welcoming and knowledgeable. Safe location. Lots of parking.

Terrible security. No security cameras inside, and no one cared when my cubicle was robbed for over $100,000. Fortunately, I was self insured, because the terrible insurance that they offered fought tooth and nail trying to not pay off $2500. A Cubicle renter would come in at night after they closed, rob many, many other units, and store the goods in his space, then leave or hide out in his cubicle. Police finally caught him. No acknowledgement by management about what happened, nor notice to any other unit holders to be on the lookout for missing items. They just didn't care. Other storage facilities that I've used always had multiple cameras inside/outside to scare off any attempted burglary. Not Public Storage. They just don't care. read more

I'm ready to move, and I am at the store and no one is here at the desk, the sign on the store says "we're open". I called the customer support number on the door, There is no one to help. I text the number that they give me to start a text conversation and I am texting with a robot that cannot help me. I'm very frustrated with this location. This facility is old and dirty with wood floors and smells...there are people also maybe using storage units as a place to live or sleep. Don't feel safe going into my unit after the office is closed or have my wife or kids go there alone. Being an older Public Storage facility, they don't have secure elevator access, just the entry gate has the key pad...that means anyone can access any floor. One of the guys walked by my unit when I was inside and he seems to be checking out what I have inside. When I informed the office about these guys...they knew who I was talking about. I entered the facility at 6am...I even was early before I could enter myself, so no one could have entered before I did. The office said that they must have walked in as soon as they were allowed at 6am, but I know no one walked into the facility while I drove in. read more

Storage facilities aren't that exciting to review but a woman named Erika works here and she has been the nicest person since I moved my stuff in a year ago. I moved everything I own into storage to go traveling and knowing such a upfront, considerate person was watching the property and walking the halls all the time was a great comfort. Every time I went there she was monitoring the whole property. Sometimes it's more than the property and company and more about the employees and this is one of those cases. The only bummer about this place is the hours, they should be open later. read more

Worst experience ever! No costumer service at all- the person in charge of managing this place has the least intention to make their clients happy or even just respect clients. I came in a month ago to rent a space, I waited more than an hour and their computer wasn't working, was told to come back because computer/ printer weren't working. (But the next day realized they'd actually charged my credit card even though I didn't rent -I didn't sign anything . To this day I haven't been able to get reimbursed my $175. The rates constantly go up. I was there for 6 months and the rate was increased 3 different times. The place is clean, the staff is friendly at first (as they beg you to do a yelp review) and then get nasty. Hours changed and are not convenient. I write reviews maybe once a year if that but I'm extremely upset about my experience at this location. I have used Public Storage in the past and had a pleasant experience and now I closed my account early and just want my money back. I was blocked in the other day by a Mack truck and when I asked them kindly me to move, they called me a b*tch! I asked your employees for help in moving them and she told me to "scoot" around them, I have the world's smallest car and would know if I could "scoot" around them or not. They also blocked me from getting things in and out of the elevator and were there for hours. After I went back in and asked for a dolly to use, she stated they were all being used, when I asked when one would be available she told me she didn't know and to use my hands and carry my stuff down the two flights, which I ended up having to do. I know it's the holidays but that's just horrible customer service, I'm a bartender and would know about good customer service. I took all of my stuff out when I was planning on being there for another month or so, I will never return to this location or use Public Storage again unless something is done about this. I had to take mt stuff and store it elsewhere in the rain just to get out of there, y'all should look at who is the face of your company when people come in. read more

I've been at this facility for a few years and am going today to find another place to store my goods. They just raised the rent "again" and this time raised it $38 and I just moved into this unit in Feb. Plus I've noticed that people tend to sleep in these storage units. In addition, my unit got burglarized back in February with a bunch of other units. They only had one security camera and it was pointed at the gate - so no way to identify the people who loaded all my stuff into their car. I would caution anyone from using Public Storage if you can help it. They're greedy with their CONSTANT price increases and their security is a joke. You've been warned.... read more

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE and OVERPRICED! They are nice until they have your money and then they treat you like garbage. BEWARE! They also add on hidden fees and they don't even have insurance so they make you "buy your own insurance". Who knows where that extra money REALLY goes? Beware of their scam! I went to rent a 5x5 unit as it was advertised and a $20 lock that I was told the price after we purchased the lock and no refunds by the way even if you just bought it and haven't even access the gate. I was told it's not mandatory to buy their lock especially since I already owned one, same brand and everything from another public storage location. They just blow you off in a upmost rude way as if they are taught to be A holes and tell you to call district management that you will have to hunt down. Because they don't feel the need to return voice messages. Forget having the Onsite manager for help. They apparently can't call them when you are at the storage facility. They just want you out of their face. They advertise 5x5 units and they are actually 5x4 then after you already paid they won't refund your money. They keep the admin fee($25) and the mandatory insurance($11) and lock fee($20). And will return you the one dollar for first month rent($50+ total they will keep for lying). They tell you the sizes are approximate and then tell you to call district management. They claim to have no 5x4 units yet other locations offer 5x4 and 5x5. But since it's approximate they feel it's okay to be off over a foot and charge you for a 5x5. they don't give any crap about their customers as long as they pay up. Don't bother asking for a Onsite manager they have as much power as a store clerk. When you do harass the store clerk oh I mean "manager" to get district management on the phone. They tell you the same thing and refuse any refund besides the $1. Then they tell you well call another district management person. Is that how all other scams work... read more

I am very pleased to use this storage place! Years ago I had stopped by when I needed something for one of my clients and the location was across the Valley. I had forgotten my wallet and that would have caused me a great deal of lost time and my client was not the most pleasant person. I saw the Public Storage building and thought I'd at least give it a try to see if they had a couple of used boxes that I could have. I'd already tried the Ralph's across the street from them but they had nothing for me. I went into the office and the wonderful Erica was not sure that they had anything left although they sold boxes. I really didn't expect her to go out of her way but she did. She found 2 boxes in very good condition and gave them to me. It was one of those situations that really was extremely stressful due to my client's truly abusive attitude and unrealistic expectations. At any rate, I never passed by that Public Storage location without thanking the lovely woman who helped me immensely. I told myself if I ever needed a storage space again, I'd use them. My boyfriend and I just came into public storage. Rafik just helped us ! We needed a unit fast since we had to be out of our apartment today. He was very nice and accommodating. He showed us the units and explained all the rules clearly. He ended up giving us a bigger unit for a reasonable price. I was very satisfied with the customer service . Great parking lot that made moving things into the unit super easy.

I rented briefly here. Besides being much more expensive than it's competitors, I encountered several problems. My unit was tampered with so I got my stuff out immediately. It likely had much to do with the homeless people and addicts sneaking through the gates behind cars going in. In addition, I saw one guy on the inside parking lot behind the dumpster area (where cameras could not see him) dealing drugs to people on the other side of the fence to the street area. But the final straw was that I had to give my driver license each time I wanted to use the dolly cart. I went in that day and gave my driver license and without notice by the guy working the desk (I'm sure he and his buddy dealing drugs were friends) leaves the premises. I went back 25 mins after placing things in my storage unit and was stranded there for an additional 40 mins at 4:10 in the afternoon well beyond the posted lunch hours for the office staff. I could leave because he had my drivers license. I found this to be very unprofessional and therefore I will never recommend or use this company. read more

I have had the worst customer service at this public storage. I work for a production company and pick up my supplies regularly. I have been here for 2 years and the older foreign man at the counter parks his van next to my container. Making it impossible to back my truck near the gate. (24 ft cube truck) when I ask him to move it. He argues with me the entire time stating that he isn't in my way and it's against public storage policy to have the trucks rear close to the bin. Now I am the very last container with no intersecting roads just a fence on the other side. There is no possible way I am in anyone's way but his. Just a month ago he comes outside as I leave to tell me he is charging the company for trash disposal. I had come to pick up a tent for casting and had not thrown anything out. He didn't want to hear it and began to argue with me. I told him to look at the cameras and prove it. He then warned me if he ever catches me throwing anything out he will charge me for both times. We have been very loyal customers for years and to be treated this way from staff is completely unacceptable. read more

My storage unit that I pay $240 a month for was broken into at this location. They managed to get in my unit without actually breaking the lock (that public storage forces you to buy from them and use) or damaging the roll up door. Without force of entry it's very hard to collect an insurance claim. This location only has four cameras, all of them outside the building! I lost thousands of dollars in power tools. Public storage claims no responsibility, they tell you to try to collect insurance ($3,000 limit) must have original receipts. I def don't recommend this location. I've never had a problem with self storage before this, now my entire livelihood is compromised. Learn from me ((((((RUN AWAY)))) Employees are very kind and helpful. Errrr read more
