Over a great many years in three states, I've had to use storage facilities. All were fine enough but not very personable. All that changed when I went to Extra Storage in Burbank. Located conveniently off the 5 freeway, it turned out to be a storage facility that has a staff that actually cares about their customers. Yolanda is the site manager and this intelligent and kind person made sure my storage needs were met. Even when I was just looking the place over, she never tried the "hard sell" approach. Her warmth and willingness to work with me made the decision to locate here the easiest one I've ever made. Ben is the Assistant Mgr who is always on his feet, constantly in work mode. Each time I arrive, he greets me by name. How does he remember my name? Anyway, he is so proficient at his job, always checking to make sure everything is functional and up to par. Amjad is also a site manager and this gentlemen is always walking inside and out, greets me as he passes by my storage locker and makes sure I have everything I need. What a trio of competent people. This facility has giant garbage bins (a first for me as I've never seen a storage place that has any for customer use) and a clean washroom for customers. I wish I knew about this location sooner. Take my word for it, Extra Storage in Burbank has a great location, indoor and outdoor storage lockers and a staff that likes their customers. Amjad, the manager- has gone above & beyond to for my families peace of mind. Definitely a family vibe / mom & pop type of business. Such a rare gem in the Lavish LA! The prices were better than competitors... and they are right near the interstate. They've allowed me to upgrade my unit and even get 2 units when I had my college-aged nephew stay with me. Absolutely fantastic place. I got referred here from another place that did not have vacancy and it made all the difference. I was so stressed out but both Amjad and Yolanda were fantastic. I hadn't a clue as to what size unit I required and upon inquiring about my possessions, they recommended a 5x10 at a great price. I was a bit miffed about the unit being upstairs but Amjad reassured me I would have nothing to worry about. Sure enough he was right. They have plenty of heavy duty carts to use and the ramps were not steep that even the movers were astonished! I love how Security is a top priority for them and they keep this place locked down. But more importantly I love how friendly the managers are. I never go a trip without meeting with either of them. At one point they were repaving the driveway which I thought would be a hindrance but alas they think of everything and I was still able to access my unit with no inconvenience as Amjad made sure to show me a cut through. For the following days the managers apologized profusely for the inconvenience and I was so happy to have chosen this place because your comfort is their priority. They have bathrooms as well which is nice as I thought I'd have to leave to the gas station next door in the midst of rearranging all my stuff. I have been using this storage company for a number of years now, and I can not say enough good things about the service that you receive from the Burbank location. I know that this may sound crazy, I mean after all, you drive in load/unload, and may need to go to the office for whatever.......it's a storage facility. What makes this so much more, is Amjad and Yolanda,not only are they so willing to help you out, but you walk away with the feeling that my things are safe and secure here, because of these two individuals. When, I go to my units, I try to allow enough time for myself to go inside and say "hello". When I leave, I feel like my items are secure, and that I just got to spend time with 2 friends . Terrible service. My unit is full of dirt. Corporate office doesn't return phone calls. Management is worthless. I have been asking for 3 months now to cover the vent and they didn't. We love this storage place. It's the best we have ever used. We rented from them a few years back and then moved out of the area. Then a few months ago, we moved back and found we needed another storage unit. We did not hesitate to go right back to them. The care these people give to us is amazing. We were selling a refrigerator out of our storage unit and the person wanting to buy it was coming near closing time. We also needed to turn the refrigerator on so the prospective buyer would know it worked. The manager helped us connect to electricity and allowed us to finish the sale even after hours. I have use Extra Storage in Burbank three times, each time the staff Amjad & Yolanda have gone above & beyond. When I remodeled my house I needed 6 - 10 X 10 units to store everything. They worked it out so almost all of the unit were next to each other, by calling me when another one came up. This time, I sold the house and had to move in to 6 units again. We ran over the closing time at least 3 times, an Amjad did now complain at all. The facility is always clean, the only negative is there is no elevator. Amjad is a gentleman, wonderful father and always willing to help, it was so hot and humid during the last move, he even brought us water. 5 stars is not enough for the people. Great, safe, clean storage facility with affordable pricing and a super friendly staff! The business is ran by a family who will go the extra mile to take care of you. The facility is clean and very well kept. Haven't even seen a spider web. I am in the video production business so I store a bunch of expensive pro-gear there. I am a big time skeptic, so trust me I wouldn't keep the devices that provide for my livelihood there if there was even a shadow of a doubt in my mind that something can happen to them. Besides, if you want to be extra-sure that your stuff stays safe they offer insurance for very affordable rates. UPDATE: Yesterday my wife and I were selling stuff from our storage unit so we had to stay there for a little over an hour. It was an extremely hot and dry day and we were dying. The manager came up to us and offered us a bottle of ice cold water each, no charge. This place is very exceptional - they will treat you like family. read more

Be careful if you plan to store your items longer than 30 days. I stored my items in one of the interior storage units thinking they would be safer, not so. The place was invested with rats and most of my items were destroyed. The rats eat and urinated on all my items including clothing. When I approached the manager regarding the situation, and asked him to help pay for some of the damage he refused. He said I should have insured the items. He was correct I should have gotten insurance; but I felt it was clean and safe, and I was paying a hefty rent, on time, monthly. Big mistake think twice about storing your items there or get insurance in case this happens to you. read more

Calling what I thought was 'that other' storage place in Burbank I had driven by I figured, why not go check it out. The good vibes began then and there. Extra Storage, Yolanda and Amjad truly are exactly what one hopes for in terms of honesty, fair price, top service. What makes them head and shoulders is their effortlessness in going beyond what anyone might expect in accommodations and kindness. Space is clean, easy to access and you pay quoted cost, period. I just set up a storage unit here in April, and the people who run this place (especially the man, though his name escapes me) are SUPER friendly and helpful. I got a great deal (don't know if it's still going) where I paid a nominal fee that covered the first 3 months, and then my monthly bill starts in July, and it's for a reasonable price. Clean facility, security, and any things you might need for moving your items (carts, dollys, etc)... unfortunately they don't have an elevator, they have a ramp that circles up to the 2nd floor (where my unit is), but that really didn't bother me, it was still pretty easy to get my stuff packed away... it's not like I'm here all the time moving stuff in and out. It's close to where I live, and also right next to the 5 fwy, plus you can pay your bill online. *FYI, they don't send bills in the mail, so make sure when you set up your storage unit, you get the info for when the 1st payment is due so you don't miss it. read more

Finally getting to this review. I can't say enough good things about this place. We used this company for my moms furniture and belongings when she was temporarily living with us while we found a new assisted living location. When we first moved her back here from Vegas we went with a well known national storage company. I can't even describe how awful the "big name" *cough*PUBLIC*cough* storage place was. They couldn't seem to manage to procure a unit with a working light fixture, let alone light bulb. My husband almost electrocuted himself on their defective light socket trying to make it work. We had to work with flashlights for months until they finally got somebody to come and fix it. The staff acted as though you were a total interruption in their life - and no amount of being nice, evolving into cajoling and downright screaming seemed to make any difference. No way to contact corporate to complain either. Having just spent a lot of cash for movers to get all of her stuff moved in, we were not in a position to spend a lot of money to get it back out again. We were emotionally and physically exhausted. Now to our experience with Extra Storage - totally friendly people that respond immediately to any questions or requests. There's always somebody in the office available to help you. They have carts you can use to move things from your car to the unit. Their pricing is very competitive. In fact even though you're supposed to give 15 days notice when you vacate the unit, we could only give two days because so much was pending with my mom's transition to a new facility. They closed everything out without making us pay an extra month or for the 15 days in the contract. Sorry for the long post (don't post a lot of reviews). read more
