Bait and switch! AVOID. First off I have no issues with the service. The manager is very friendly and helpful. This review is directly aimed at the purposefully deceptive tactics of the company. We were quoted a fair price at first, so I made arrangements to move into the unit. I was storing a motorcycle, so this involved draining all the fluids, then finding and hiring a tow service to take the bike to the storage unit. All my cost of course which is fine. The issue is that after only 90 days without any notification I noticed they had charged my card more than 30% increase of the normal rent. Maybe that doesn't sound like a lot, but when your rent goes from $250 to $350 a month that's a big difference after just 90 days in the unit. I understand rates adjust, but not that quickly and after going to all the trouble it's very disappointing. Moving all of your stuff into and out of a storage unit is a LOT of work. They count on your laziness and do this on purpose to get you into the unit, then raise your rate. NOT GOOD BUSINESS. BEWARE. Now I have to find another solution after going through all of this just 90 days ago. read more

They corrected malfunctioning lock brackets immediately when met with a challenge using my lock. Their incredible move-in promotion helped me to obtain this awesome space. It is clean, spacious and easy to access. When I initially decided to use this location I was very pleased because the customer service was exceptional. This is my second time using extra space storage in Burbank California, so I felt secure with my personal belongings, some of them extremely valuable to me, being secured at this location. I had the storage unit for approximately two months. In that time some sort of disgusting slimy substance filled the floor of my storage unit damaging some of my very extremely valuable paintings, my television set and my expensive headboard. Naturally because I have renters insurance I did not feel the need to pay extra for their insurance so as you would imagine this company feels ABSOLUTELY no obligation to return my rental fees OR to file a claim so that I can replace my valuables. I would have been happy just to get my two months worth of fees back honestly. The district manager BRANDON was rude and careless in his response to my request. I would NOT recommend ANYONE to use this Company. You may as well go with PUBLIC STORAGE, where they take responsibility for their building maintenance and they also typically give you discounts for your first month of storage fees OR you can go with one of the NUMEROUS other storage locations throughout the San Fernando Valley. I never used a storage place before so I was a little concerned about cleanliness and security. This place put all my fears to rest. It is spic and span, very well maintained and the security was great. I felt comfortable stopping by to drop stuff off or pick things up very early or pretty late. Eric showed me several spaces and listened to me to help me decide what size space would be right for me. All the spaces were super accessible and had lights that turned themselves on as soon as you walk in. The pricing was great. I was there for about 3 months and was very happy. I even met some very nice neighbors and shared moving stories. If I ever need short term storage again, I'm coming back to Extra Space. read more
