I never used a storage place before so I was a little concerned about cleanliness and security. This place put all my fears to rest. It is spic and span, very well maintained and the security was great. I felt comfortable stopping by to drop stuff off or pick things up very early or pretty late. Eric showed me several spaces and listened to me to help me decide what size space would be right for me. All the spaces were super accessible and had lights that turned themselves on as soon as you walk in. The pricing was great. I was there for about 3 months and was very happy. I even met some very nice neighbors and shared moving stories. If I ever need short term storage again, I'm coming back to Extra Space. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this storage facility and its staff. Juan, who assisted me, was courteous, respectful, IMMENSELY helpful - just fabulous in general, and wonderful with helping me secure my new unit. The facility is SUPER clean, as are the units. He showed me the unit and its location and its price both were excellent. Checkout was swift and easy. .and they even had padlocks that could purchase on site. 5+ Stars!!! I also must share 5-star Hi-5's for Erik, who is also BEYOND AMAZING. I wouldn't be pleased if I were Corporate with this site perhaps being representative of Extra Space's image. 1) Price quoted on phone and internet not what I was presented upon going to site to sign up. 2) When I halted completing sign up - the manager did not void the transaction. It showed up on my credit card statement. I called the manager and his comment was 'we don't issue credits, you will have to file a claim for a disputed charge with your bank.' Shame on you Extra Space - the unprofessionalism to NOT do the right thing (cancel the transaction at the time) and to make a customer have to involve the bank (my time and the peoples time in the bank) to correct your error. You don't deserve customers. The site managers name was Eddie. The pricing difference was due to a requirement to purchase insurance (or show evidence of your own insurance). I was not advised up front before coming to the site of the insurance requirement...nor until the transaction was being processed. I recently rented storage from a competitor in Santa Clara (and there was no insurance expectation). This insurance requirement may be more specific to the Burbank/LA area but to not be clear on your website and via the phone is not fair to your potential customers. If I can give some credit. Extra Space Storage - An Excellent Change! I've been a customer of this Thornton Avenue storage facility since it opened years ago as All-Aboard Mini Storage. The facility changed ownership, and it is now Extra Space Storage. Over the years, I received excellent customer service. Therefore, I had concern the change in ownership to Extra Space Storage would bring an unwanted change in reference to customer service. My concerns were allayed when I visited the facility a few months after the change of ownership. I was warmly greeted by the new onsite manger, Veronica. She introduced herself as the new resident manager, and said she would help with any questions about changes in policy. I soon discovered Veronica to be a very pleasant, friendly and professional person who strives to provide the best level of customer-centric service. Veronica explained how some familiar elements of the property did not change, but other elements were changed to provide a better customer experience. For instance, the old hours of 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. have increased to 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. In addition, the old dark and dim interior hallways of the storage units were repainted a bright white for better lighting and visibility. Additionally, the front office area was remodeled with a bright, welcoming and up-to-date look. Even smalls things like adding a high-speed air hand dryer to the public restroom was a nice touch. I also noticed the interior hallways of the storage areas were cleaner than the past years; it appears the hallways are now being swept on a regular basis - a definite improvement. All in all, I am very pleased with the new ownership, and especially pleased with the new on-site manager, Veronica. Without reservation, I would absolutely recommend Extra Space Store on Thornton Avenue in Burbank, California. read more

Veronica is the nicest on-site manager! She was great helping my friend and I into our new unit (which was by the way, at a discounted price). Everything is gated and secured and this is a brand new location so all the units are nice and new. I also decided to go with this place because they offer the most hours of accessibility (6am-10pm, at least 3 hours more than the other storage companies) which was a big thing for me. Veronica also did not hesitate to replace our lock for free when we bought a defect. Great management, great location! read more

Veronica was great to work with. I was looking to store my car at the facility. She let me bring my car over to see if it would fit in the space. When it didn't, she checked the other Extra Space Storage facilities for me to see if they had any openings for units that would store my car. Even though nothing was available at the time from several other locations, she still provided excellent customer service and went the extra mile to help me. Veronica was very clear and forthcoming in presenting their storage solutions. She was very professional and above all very nice. She made us feel very welcome every time we came. The storage units were extremely clean and well maintained. They were ground level with garage door access which made moving in and out very easy. Experience at this Extra Space Storage was great! I am storing a household of things in a 10'x15' space for a few months. The facilities are new, clean and well maintainted. Veronica, the manager was very helpful and effecient in getting me set-up. I feel safe having my things stored here as well as coming and going to the facilities at any time of the day. They have extended hours, the storage is accessible from 6am to 10pm and the first month is free. Also the prices were competitive. I asked for the web rate, since the site clearly states that the rates for signing up in person and web are different. I clarified that I wanted the web rate and would return home to reserve a space online in order to get the web rate - Veronica was very reasonable and accomodating and set me up with that rate in person. read more
