I will never rent at public storage ever again! Their service sucks! Their hours suck! It's like they intentionally make it inconvenient so you're literally stuck in their facility so they can get more $ from you! Although I was aware of the hours beforehand, the cost made it at least enticing because it was cheap considering the size of my unit. Of course the price was a bait and switch because soon after, the price not only went up once, but twice! I lost my job due to Covid-19 and could not afford my storage any longer so I tried to vacate to avoid going into another month and had already begun the process within the month. I paid a partial which was all I could afford at the time and had removed most of my belongings. Before the end of the month, I tried to clear everything but wasn't allowed access even though I made them aware of my unfortunate situation. I didn't want to go into another month because that would only set me further behind. I was told just pay the balance and if you go into another month, it's only the normal rent. Hello?! If I can't afford it as it is, how is it that you say ONLY another month? Public Storage has no compassion for struggling Americans even amidst a pandemic and could care less what anyone is going through. They don't care at ALL! I've done research and there are plenty of other facilities with BETTER hours and BETTER rates. Don't trust the cheap move in cost, it will skyrocket! DON'T RENT HERE! read more

We lock up all our valuable shit here. Security is tight, and they're doing everything right. I saw the Storage Wars guys drooling over my locker once, and opened up a can of Yuuup Ass on 'em! Just make sure you pay the rent, or you WILL see your stuff being sold on TV, unless you're dead or something. No nerds allowed! read more

They are VERY deceptive, they tell you HAVE to take their insurance and if your home owners policy covers it you can cancel the next day...what they don't say is that there is no possibility of getting a refund for that month. They don't tell you that ALL you have to say is that you don't want the insurance because you have a home owners policy. I told the woman "I have a really good home owners policy, so I don't think it's an issue." She said "you have to have insurance, just cancel it tomorrow". When I confirmed my policy covers storage like almost all of them do, and tried to cancel PS's insurance I was told I would have to pay for the current month. When I complained they said there was nothing they could do except take a note for the district manager. I know it's only $11, but it's the principle of being lied to like that...AND all the upselling she tried to do on other things. Now I'm wondering what else was a rip off with these people. I will be out of there before next month...TOTAL waste of money going to find a place that does not use deception to get more money out of their customers. read more

I had a storage from them last year and came back to get a storage again that I reserved online. Audrey was great at helping me check in to get my reservation correctly. She seemed new but was very knowledgeable and seem genuine. Definitely would recommend this place. read more

I had a storage unit at Spring Valley, CA for about 2 months while we transitioned a move and made the mistake of paying one month ahead using a virtual rebate card tht i had. BIG MISTAKE. Once no longer needed the unit we cancelled and were promised that if we emptied out our unit by the end of the month by 5pm (which we did) wed receive a full refund. The downside was that the refund would have to be back to the virtual card. THAT WAS BACK ON DEC 31ST. After Multiple calls, to the store itself, customer service And 4 higher ups (even as high as managers and corporate) No one has been able to even return my call, even after leaving Multiple voicemails. The only ones tht answer the phone are the store and customer service reps but they always say they have no authority and all they can do is email someone above them and provide us a phone number. Now after a month and a half with no refund and weeks if not a whole month of contacting the reps that Can do something about it, with No response, our short time w PS has become somewhat of a headache. It is not even the refund amount that bothers us, its the principle of not being treated as a customer should. I do NOT recommend. -Manny Aranda read more

The Customer Service at this facility was IMPECCABLE. I received a courtesy call a day before my appointment, email confirmation of order and a follow up call thereafter. Might I also add that the female manager ROCKS! She assisted me with ease, thoroughly explained everything to me from start to finish and even was kind enough to grant me a few extra minutes after closing time to finish unloading my truck. Great customer service is hard to find, but it is definitely present at this facility. P.S. I cant wait for the construction to finish...the parking and unloading is slightly tight right now. But the new building is coming along well!!! read more

I rented unit from public storage less than a year ago. In that year they've upped my rent twice to over $100 more than what my original quote was. Yeah they made me buy the lock too! They don't even open that early...0930, what are they, a bank? There are plenty of storage facilities in San Diego, if you can, rent from them! read more

Clean, Organized, Friendly Staff, Fast Process, Great Location & I'm a returning client ! I would recommend this storage facility, I can't vouch for too many others ! Whooped me with the $1 move in special & online rates were $20 cheaper then walk-in rates ! 2 Thumbs Up !! read more

Love the way they work with you! Many options to choose from regarding storage space. The young ladies are very helpful and professional. They take their time explaining your options and prices that can't be beat! I highly recommend them. read more

I was genuinely pleased with my experience with this company. The staff called me to remind me about the appointment the day before; then gave me tips on how to park and about the construction. Patty, Milly, and Carlo made me feel like more than just a number and even joked with my kids, who were being a pain. They discussed the best ways to protect my belongings and walked me through how to properly wrap my goods. The process was quick, about 20 minutes. The facility was clean and they were all very friendly. I'd give them more stars if it was possible. Customer service, in general, should be more like this team. read more

If I could give zero stars i would. Apparently because my mother has a current unit rented and I told her she could put some of her stuff in my unit since she only had a little bit left in hers they said we couldn't do the 50% off first months promotion because I was a current renter. I was not, nor have i ever rented a storage anywhere in my life.. they said I am a current renter because the same family/household has a current unit ...Even though we both live in separate households...I was then told i can call the district manager but he'll just tell me the same thing. I was already over an hour late to work so I decided to continue with just paying full price and of course the system messed up and it did not save any information she had just put in the system. Horrible way to start my morning. Zero customer service skills from any of the ladies that were working this morning. They don't care about having any because they know at the end of the day, people need a storage unit anyway... read more

Great storage unit location with excellent customer service and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything is right or if it's not fix whats wrong. read more

The company increased their monthly storage rate in five months of my renting my unit. When I called to discuss the matter, the woman who spoke to me was rude, interrupted me while I was speaking then chastised me for continuing to talk over her. When I retorted that she was interrupting me she hung up on me. read more

The manager Chantil was nothing less then AMAZING. She made sure to explain everything fully. She made sure that my every need was met. The other two young ladies were very friendly as well. The facility was extremely well kept. I shopped around prior to choosing this location and I'm glad I did. I love the fact that you have your own private access code to drive onto the property. The security cameras are an added bonus read more

Theres a few employees here that need to work on there customer service skills, theres a few that are rude and not very friendly/welcoming. Having employees like this at this business will certainly loose customers as there are more competitive storages in the area who are more welcoming/friendly and who provides good customer service. Gio is one of the nicest employees here, Carlo needs to work on his customer service skills, not very respectful. I will call and make sure general manager and ceo is spoken to. I did not like how Carlo treated me on my arrival. read more

Patricia was very rude and unprofessional. If my husband and I hadn't been in a hurry we would have gone somewhere else. If you dont like your job then go find another. And we've always liked and used PS but now we may take our business elsewhere. read more

This place definitely believes in RAISING your rental RATES. Trust and believe you will NOT be rewarded for being a long time customer. I've found a new place which will give me an incentive of lower rates for a long term rental. SHAME ON YOU PUBLIC STORAGE!! I'm very disappointed to have my rates raised yet again. I will never recommend PS to anyone!! I have a friend who is moving out of town for a year, he asked me if I would recommend my storage facility, I originally told him yes, then woke up to an email announcing another rate increase. You guessed it! I called him and told him to go with the new place I found. I plan to make sure anyone I know who is looking for storage solutions, DOES NOT USE PUBLIC STORAGE!! read more

This place is terrible. They advertise low rent and then after the first or second month they up the rent significantly. They also have a really bad system with their carts. Instead of only lending one to each unit they let one unit have 3 or 4 carts and then other units have nothing to use. I am 6 months pregnant and I should not have to lift heavy boxes one by one to my unit because some other people have 3 or 4 carts for just one unit, especially when their kids are just sitting on empty ones. It shouldn't matter how much stuff you have with you, each unit gets one cart period! I wasn't the only one waiting for a cart either, 4 other people were also waiting. read more

Just checked out a storage unit 10x10 I got a deal! Their $1 special. Hopefully I don't need my storage unit anymore than 30days otherwise I'll be stuck paying their high rate. Their premises are clean, they run a tight ship. I'm not to happy about their hours of operation. But I can manage. Stay tuned w/ my experience. read more

Second time n this place since hubby is on deployment. Highly recommended this place for three reason...1. Excellent Customer Service 2/. All youre stuff are always SAFE 24/7 because of all the cameras in every corner 3. The place is always clean and AC is always on. By the way this place is really secure...before you can go in you will need your own PIN number for the gate and PIN number to use the elevator. read more

The service here was very good. I called to get a locker and based on my answers to their questions, they were able to recommend an appropriate-sized locker. I also got an appointment to see the locker within 90 minutes of my call. If you are looking for a convenient and affordable place to store your stuff...find somewhere else. Personally, I feel that having access to my stuff in a storage unit is important, but Public Storage doesn't see it that way. To save someone else the headache, here is a list of things that you don't really find/figure out until you already have a unit: 1. Limited hours - The units are only accessible during office hours. So, good luck getting to your stuff during the week of you work a normal 9-5, and they have shorter hours on the weekends. 2. There are no lights inside the units 3. The lights in the hallways shut off after 30mins if there is no movement passed the motion sensors, which are only located at the end of the hallways (there is no way to override this) 4. If you have units on two different floors you can't go from the 2nd floor directly to 3rd, rather you have to go to the ground floor first before you can go up to the 3rd floor. 5. No prorate on your move out (you pay for the full month even if you move out on the 5th). Keep in mind this applies to everyone, so the last day of the month it is packed (their parking lot is not equipped to handle multiple moving trucks). 6. You can't punch in your access code from your vehicle because the keypads are too close to the fences (just an annoying oversight) 7. They allow people to do business out of their 1st floor storage units, which are right next to the elevators (acceptable to the point that people have benches to sit on in their unit to wait for customers). By the way, this added traffic makes their already small parking lot - even smaller. To compare to other storage facilities - Public Storage only has 3 hand carts available, and unless you are the first one there in the morning - good luck getting one. Also, there is no truck available to help you move in or out. read more

Wandly was the most professional, kindest, compassionate, helpful person I have met in a very long time! I like doing business with this company. I get good customer service and they are very helpful

Victoria was very helpful with explaining our options as well as with helping us to determine the size of the unit we would need. I like that the facility is climate controlled so I don't have to worry about damage to my belongings from extreme heat and cold. Also, the fact that security codes are needed to access our floor with our storage unit gives me some peace of mind that our property will be safe. They also offer push carts to help moving items which is a very nice feature! read more

Public Storage location at 1247 Sweetwater Road, Spring Valley, CA 91977 has the most effective, punctual, professional worker (Ms. Sevena) I have ever met. I began renting my unit at this facility in Oct of 2017, for the first couple months, I paid $150 for my unit, then my rent was suddenly raised to $175 with no explanation as to why, Now, as of this month my rent has been raised to $199, that is a 25% increase in less than 2 years. I pay my rent on time every month. Then suddenly, yesterday I got a VERY aggressive phone call urging me to pay my rent, which was not even past due. Between the outrageous unexplained rent increases & now rude people aggressively telling me that I need to make sure that I pay my bill which is not & in almost 2 years has never been past due or paid late. I am now looking for a new storage facility that will not raise their rent every few months with no explanation & that will not aggressively & rudely attack a long time customer that pays their rent on time every month for nearly 2 years. This facility is very unprofessional & severely overpriced. read more
