Lousy storage. Judging by other feedbacks this place gives quite a bit of headaches. Has huge gaps between the wall and the ceiling. The office always has a bad stench to it. The walls to the locker that they gave me has some stained walls. The lighting is horrible with one pull string light bulb in the middle of the locker. Not the greatest design... district manager was rude when I had questions and seemed pretty stuck up. Can't recommend this place. Biggest pet peeve was the giant gap. Could easily have things tossed in my locker from the 6" or more gap. Not sure but judging by their non recommended feedbacks they have a lot of 5 stars by accounts that only leave feedback for this place. Seems to be making accounts to up their rating with fake reviews. Just another reason not to trust this place. read more

It was great that i received a complimentary lock. The deal was $1 for the 1st but I was charged $125 including $25 for insurance that I was told I could opt out of - but no way to do it on the website. I tried to go to the office to discuss & there was a note on the door saying the manager would be back at12:15pm - at 12:25pm no one was there & nobody in the vicinity. Very frustrated & now have to go back again. I forgot - I tried calling & no answer. Ugh! read more

Very Shady place and incompetent manager. Bought a storage locker here and went back to collect it and they moved stuff in the locker and possibly went through it after I purchased it. Then told me nothing was went though but couldn't explain why things were moved. Manager laughed at me and tried to ban me for something they did but not like they'll be getting my business anymore anyways. Office smells strongly like ciggarettes too so if you're allergic to cigarettes beware. read more

FYI--on February 24 & 25 2022 between 7:30pm and 6:30am the Public Storage located at 2401 Lois Drive in Rolling Meadows had over 20 units (ours being included) involved in a burglary. There were 2-3 suspects (possibly more) and were seen driving a dark blue possibly black Truck with a top bed. They removed their plates from both the front and the back of their vehicle. Apparently, a new customer was able to secure a storage unit with the eRental program that Public Storage allows customers to secure a reservation without meeting with someone face to face and can basically use a phony name and provide details that don't belong to them. This person waited until the staff left and came in through the gate with their gate number provided to them and torched our latch and started taking all of our things. These criminals never accessed their unit as their intentions were to burglarize this facility. These people came on two different days from night to morning. There are cameras located throughout the property on the outside however, all of the indoor units located in between the drive up units on the outside DO NOT have cameras so they were able to do what they wanted inside and went so far as to breaking the drywall in between some units to see what the next door unit had stored. This was definitely an inside job and they knew exactly how well this property is kept unmonitored after hours. This location is notorious for having the gate being left all kinds of hours throughout the day because their District Manager Michael Ayala has refused to have this properly fixed. We immediately called the police when we saw our unit broken into and called the District Manager Michael Ayala to speak with him. He never returned our call so w returned to the storage facility and he was already at the office. We told him what happened (which his staff had already told him) and he was very vague and had a corporate response. No empathy and seemed as though he didn't even care what had happened. He didn't offer to cover any moving expense as we did not feel safe anymore and are basically being forced to move at this point. He didn't want to at least offer a credit on the remainder of the reservation we had. He also said the property is not responsible for anything that has happened. He indicated that we would need to contact the insurance company. Also, they have very old pipes in the units that are connected throughout the property. As we were removing our things we've noticed that some of the items had water damage and we had a couple of boxes that were drenched in water. I mean this place is not what we thought it would be. It seems to me that this is something that has happened more than a couple of times based off what other customers have said and they really don't plan to fix anything on this property. Be very careful and stay away from this storage facility as the prices can be low to lure you in however you will pay the price for it later!!! The only good of this property is Theresa. Public Storage doesn't deserve an employee like her working here. read more

Storage unit is okay, not great. I asked about the lighting in the unit because there is a wall switch and overhead light that was not working. 'I would like to be able to see inside of this fairly large garage, especially with it getting dark outside of the unit around 4:45pm right now', I said. I received several excuses like, 'Due to fires and people hooking other electrical tools or machines up, we can't repair or provide the light.' I saw a fire sprinkler system in the unit so I thought the threat of fire should NOT be there unless the sprinkler system is not working. It may have only been a bad light bulb but the customer service representative said, "We only get deliveries of light bulbs once a year and I don't have any in-stock." She also said, "Most people go to Wal-Mart and get a battery powered light or use the flashlight on their cell-phone to see inside their unit.' WHAT?! If there is an installed electrical light in the unit, I want it functioning upon rental. Normally this rental expectation would just be common sense. read more

The only reason I gave this place a 1 star rating is because it is the lowest available score. I exercised every measure possible to resolve this concern prior to writing this review. Contacting the local District Manager Phil Caccitore, Senior District Manager Abdul asdghwretq as well as reaching out to the Corporate office which did nothing more than refer me back to the local level. This organization has unscrupulous unit owners and sales associates that are untruthful and scam renters. A company that pays its CEO $7.5MM per year. They condone and embrace policies that permit the company to steal money from their renters. It's sad that they have to resort to unfair and deceptive practices such as this. Public Storage has so many units and so many properties, grabbing $100+ from every one of those units is more than enough to enrich themselves, but instead they run a highly competitive sales game with districts and regions, and focus solely on the bottom line, which unfortunately, gives them the peace of mind to unjustly screw people. Pete, Phil and Abdul I gave you every opportunity to make this right before writing this. Next is the Consumer Affairs division, the Better Business Bureau and every review site that I can submit this to. I can only hope that this review and all other submissions will reach enough customer base impacting your revenue. You can't treat people like this and expect people like me not to stand up and call you out on it. Fellow Yelpers think twice before dealing with this company. read more

Normally I don't write reviews when suggested to, but I did want to point out a few nice things about this Public Storage location. I've seen a few different locations before, and this one had the nicest walls. That's a very weird thing to say, but compare the fairly sturdy pressboard (I think) walls here to the essentially tin foil used at other locations, and you'll know why I bring it up. The items kept inside a unit here seem like they are much safer because of it. Also, the location is really convenient. It's easy to get to from either Golf road or Algonquin road. The place is fairly small compared to others that I have seen, but that just means that it's easier to find your unit. The last thing to add is that Pete treated us very nicely and got us in and out very quickly. Glad I chose this location! read more

Like others mentioned, Pete was very helpful and guided us very easily on finding the right size unit. The units seem very clean, and ours had some new doors which makes it easy to open and close. You can be certain that the doors will stay securely locked when you lockup and leave. read more

I just signed my lease 3 hours ago and I am already ticked by an awful practice. I am returning tomorrow to terminate my lease furst thing in the morning. To start, I reserve a storage and size I needed. I intend to to store my things a week away. I missed a call from them that same day. I received another call the next day. They told me to stop by to start the leasing process. I met Natasha before noon. She asked what do I intend to store which I thought it was strange then she mentioned that she wanted to ensure that the size I picked is enough to accommodate all my things. She showed me the storage size I selected. Upon opening, I noticed that the storage is not completely enclosed. The dry wall has a gap on the top of about 5". Needless to say, anything that happens to one storage will easily move into the next storage (smoke, fire, bugs, etc.) I agreed it is the right size. She locked the storage and handed me the keys. She said that it has to be locked by "their" puck-shaped lock. I asked if I could use my lock, she said NO, unless my lock is puck-shaped like theirs. I did not respond. As we walked by to the office, I saw several storage with different locks and more importantly, NOT puck-shaped locks! So I asked, she said I can put my lock "after". This means I am paying for this lock. Upon entering the office, she proceed on telling me that I need to buy this plastic sheets to cover the floor to protect the boxes. I told her that I use large plastic totes so I don't need it. She then told me that I need desiccant to absorb moisture. (Remember the gap, any storage NOT using desiccant will share the moisture through the gaps of neighboring unit). She also said the storage needs to be insured. I said I'll get one through my home insurance. She said I need it that day to reserve it and showed me a selection of coverage. I picked the lowest of the three. I told her that I ONLY need it for ONE month because I will add it to my home insurance. We went through the rest of the lease agreement. Much to my surprise the lease started that day! I found that out after she tells me that the rest of February is pro-rated. It was only a little over $14 so I agreed. As soon as I arrive my home, I called my hone insurance and I was informed that my insurance covers my property regardless of location so inside a storage is fully covered. I called the storage office and spoke to Natasha and told her that my properties are fully covered in a storage unit and I don't need any insurance. She said that I need to stop by to cancel the insurance within 30 days ELSE I will get charged again! I specifically directed her to cover only ONE month. At this point, I felt like I just been had by a car salesman. Needless to say. Take your chance at your own risk! I wish a half star is available. read more

The manager Pete was very helpful in getting me set up with a vehicle storage unit. He took the time to show me the unit and answered all of the questions that I had. There's only one person working in the office, so make sure you call ahead to set up an appointment for a visit! Although it took me several attempts to reach someone over the phone, the customer service Pete provided made up for it. The location is nice and quiet. I would recommend this place! read more
