I went in today to help my cousin rent a storage space. Jessica was the sales associate that helped us and she absolutely amazing!! My cousin and I was really pleased with her service and patience. My cousin isn't good with looking and doing things on her phone. She kept getting frustrated with setting up her web account and Jessica came around and helped her and made her feel at ease. Horrible storage. Dirty, smelly, and floor is wood with space underneath it, so it gets humid/moist. Also, they keep raising rates that are double other storage facilities. Finally had enough and changed storage locations. Don't do it, no matter how low they offer for your move in rate. It's not worth it. read more

1 Star -- Avoid This Place at All Costs This has been one of the worst experiences I've ever had with a storage company. There is a complete lack of communication, and the staff is almost never around. The posted office hours are incorrect, and good luck trying to get ahold of anyone--they don't answer the phone, and the property manager is never on-site. I had to make FIVE separate appointments just to see a unit, and every time I showed up, no one was there. They only enforce their policies when it benefits them, and everything else gets ignored or brushed off. What's worse is they'll charge you for a full month even if you vacate the unit at the beginning of the month, without any notice or flexibility. It feels like they hide behind their vague policies and then selectively enforce them when it's convenient. Do yourself a favor and go with a company like Extra Space nearby. At least they don't play games or take your money without providing service. Total scammy experience--would never recommend Public Storage to anyone. read more

On the whole, not terrible, you can come and go. They NO LONGER have an onsite manager. There used to be someone who lived there, and over saw the complex, but it is my understanding they are gone. Only security there is camera's. Good luck with that. I found this out, because I vacated the unit, and was able to catch the manager there, and asked for a vacate receipt, she said to come back tomorrow 2025-03-20. Went back on Friday, place was al locked up, and no one insight. So, if you have a problem, good luck trying their phone #. They are going to an ALL on-line operation. No More stopping buy to rent a unit, you HAVE to do it on-line. Crappy customer service. Will NEVER rent there again, even since it is close. read more

We chose this particular location because we felt it would be safe r than Richmond, and they advertised video surveillance. Within two weeks of moving boxes into a 10 x 20 garage, our recommended disc lock was picked, several things were stolen, and when I asked to review the video footage, it did not exist. We were told they were in the process of upgrading their video system and it would be done early the next year. Four months later, end of Feb, it's still not here and there is no evidence of progress. So the primary reason we chose this location was for a feature that is not provided -- a straight-up lie. They really didn't seem to care much that somebody had access to our unit and security has been pretty lax here. We've seen other units in this complex broken into as we visited our locker in subsequent weeks. If you absolutely must store things here, get two locks and spend more than you think you should on them. It's only your stuff that you will lose. read more

I called earlier this week with questions and spoke with Jessica. She was incredibly kind and helpful and answered all of my questions. If I was confused about something she took the time to talk to me to help me understand. To be honest she provided me with some of the best customer service I have had in a LONG time. Hopefully whoever her boss is sees this because she was nothing short of awesome. It was so refreshing to feel like the person on the other end of the phone cared when today so many people act like they can't be bothered with anyone else. As far as the storage unit itself, the property, the people that work there, everything is great. No real complaints. Things are clean, accessible, reasonably well lit, the people are friendly and courteous. Based on those things, I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a storage unit. And if it weren't for the regular increases in price, I would happily give 5 stars. I have a 10x10 unit, originally rented in January 2017. Starting rent was $152/month. This wasn't any special short term rate. Just the regular monthly rate. It has gone up regularly every few months to its current rate of $284/month. Almost double what I started with. In about 4 years. I understand things increase in price regularly, but for something like a storage unit to almost double its rate for existing customers in 4 years seems absurd. I doubt they've doubled the salaries of the employees. Just feels like regular price gouging to me. For a storage place to do this just feels wrong. I won't be using Public Storage again. read more

Since I now have my friend's garage to store my bike in and since they're raising the price $33 more than the current price I'm paying for the smallest rental unit there is at Public Storage I've decided to cancel my storage unit. I called the Public Storage Pinole office and as usual I've always received super friendly and efficient service from the women that work there. When I told her I will be vacating my unit due to the $33 price increase she asked me if she could call to have my unit kept at the same price for another six months even though the new price kicks in December 1st. Now how's that for great and friendly customer service? I told her as kind as her gesture is, I have my friend's garage to keep my bike in now. I do know that should I have a lot of boxes and extra stuff I need to store I will come back to the Pinole Public Storage because the customer service there is absolutely the best and unfortunately that's hard to find nowadays. read more

Terrible experience! No one is in the office. Can't even talk to a person on the phone. I was charge for a unit and when I tried to use the gate it said I was unable to. Had my friend try it as well and same thing. They just take you r money and say it's confirmed but hate won't open. There was a few people there with the same issue. I left a voicemail this morning and still haven't received a call back. I ended up going to EXTRA SPACE STORAGE where they took care of me right away. read more

New paint and new signs makes this place the EXACT SAME. If you dare to rent here get the insurance, you'll need it. I believe some of the employees are scouting out lockers and providing that information to thieves. My locker was broken into twice - both times I had just placed some valuables inside for a brief period. In 3 years, both incidents happened at the perfect time. Curious! The staff behind the service desk are nice and can assist us with tips and knowledge of their property. However, after working my butt off, I lost track of time. I left the lord after 10pm. I recieved a message the next day that I was on their property after hours and it was against their policy. My reply, "NO", As long as I'm in the gate by 8:30, I can clock out whenever. read more

Staff in pinole public storage have the worst customer service. Staff is not completely honest with their customer. One staff tells you something when you have concern and another tells you differently, even their WE CARE CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE. They also have rent increases that they don't even know what its for when you ask them. I don't even see any physical improvement aside from the camera that they installed lately. I highly recommend DO NOT RENT from this location. This location is not able to control the theft that takes place at this location right under their noises. Even with an on site manager and video cameras for security. The burglars are still able to brake into our units. My unit was break into TWICE! There are people that live in the storage units and spend all night breaking into peoples units. They even picked my locks, where other people had locks cut or the handles cuts off of there units. This place say they have surveillance, but the cameras dont even work. I received NO help or support from this facility. You rent at your own risk! POOR RATING! read more

I checked out a few places around Los Angeles, and when I entered this Public Storage location in Studio City I felt comfortable for the first time in my search. The two people who run the desk are always available during office hours and super helpful. The building is clean and climate controlled which I believe saved my stuff through the hot summer (I only planned to have be in storage for 3 months, and wound up using it for 9 Months!) don't use this storage place! they took partial payments automatically out of my account but denied me access to my unit. then they auctioned off my unit even though they were taking money from me and the day if the auction i went by and no one was in the office they never answered my phone calls or messages. i had to call the corporate office to get a hold of the property manager who is never there nor does she call anyone back. i was told i would still save my unit if i paid in full what i owed which was $300.00. i get a call from property manager who tells me they had already paid for my unit it was too late. i called corporate again and they told me she was lying it hadn't been paid for yet . i raced to the facility arrived at the same time as a man, who let himself in first. they ignored me and tended to him first. i told the women at the desk that i wanted to save my unit i would pay in full they said no that the man next to me had won my unit in auction. i pointed out that their paperwork stated that if the owner arrives to pay in full that the unit sould go to the owner. i told her i spoke with their district manager that said i could still pay she pretty much said im a liar because their manager was a make and after we figured out the customer service rep was the one i spoke to she decides that she needed to get another confirmation from the district manager. i was getting upset because her words haunted me from a previous encounter we had when she told me shed make sure i wouldn't get my stuff back we had an altercation before. i told her that i eas paying triple what the man who eon the auction was going to pay for it and it was my stuff she still made the call and her district manager told her to go ahead and take the mans $170 instead of my $750 which makes no sense at all. she hadn't even charged him up until that moment then she rang him up for all my stuff in front of my face and gave him the keys to my unit!!!! no compassion, no remorse no respect... just horrible people . i lost everything all because they would not answer the phone nor were they in the office during office hours so i could've made a payment... hey would anyone take $170 over close to $800 no other reason than the property manger had a personal vendetta against me. i go in two days later to retrieve my documents and other paper like it says the buyer is supposed to and she told me that the buyer said there weren't any. i do not recommend you give these people your business. the storage facility is dirty, it smells of dirty adult diapers, the employees are never available and when they are they are rude. they are the worst of all the public storages in the area. read more

i am beside myself. i had been dealing with san pablo public storage since jan of this year staff had been great. was trying to down size and wanted to be able to access my things after 6 so i looked to move rented a small unit in pinole. staff friendly again! never in the office but very nice the rare times you spot them. great on the phone. i didnt have enough time to take all my stuff out and make the move so i rented a third unit in san pablo. i didnt clear my stuff out so now i pay rent for 3 units.... i spoke with the pm at san pablo and i was under the impression that she didnt charge me the month because of a special or because she yold me dont worry about it that i was good so i was under the impression that it was taken care of from auto pay. so im in yhe one unit in pinole and one in san pablo. i have trouble with my bank cards so i cancelled them and it cancelled my auto pay i get a call from storage that my unit is in lien status and was going yo be auctioned in a month if i didnt come up with $500. how i ask if the unit rent is $160 and $120. they said i didnt pay my rent for two months charged me for this fee that fee charged me for a storage unit i had empty already but left things in it because the pm said it was ok.had she said she was charging me i wouldn't have had them removed. so i lose my income and i cant come up with yhe money they were are now charging me 1,083. 00 for two months of rent. i stand to lose all i have left of my deceased father, my kids toys and my important documents and all i have because i am homeless now. so my friend bids on an auction for my stuff i won one thinking it was my stuff and they knew i thought that turns out it wasnt but i paid anyway get to the storage thought yo find a way to contact owner return their stuff for good karma. well its nothing but garbage and cat shit and they knew it was still had the nerve to put it in auction. i know the workers rummage through people's belongings the pictures of my storages show my boxes and totes all open things pulled out and a lot appears missing.... they are threatening to have me banned from the storage and not let me get my things if i dont come clean up this garbage ass unit they sold me. read more

PUblic Storage has a policy of increasing the rental rates, once you've signed an agreement (read the fine print) by 15-20 percent on a yearly basis. What may seem like a good deal moving in turns very bad a year later - a bait and switch tactic - when your monthly rental costs go up 20%. Corporate and Local employees are exploiting individuals with price gouging, with each group saying it's out of their control. So great reviews about nice managers and employees may be true (moving is stressful and it's so nice to deal with someone pleasant when setting up storage) but the niceties do not include telling you the truth about what you will pay after the 1 year mark. It also doesn't say in the fine print how much of an increase you will incur...only that PS has the right to increase your rates. It's time for people to complain about this abusive price gouging practice. However, don't count on their customer service, which is cold and apathetic when dealing with renters. I'm calling the CA Attorney General and if you're feeling frustrated and have had enough join me and do something about it! read more

I can't believe the other positive reviews because what happened to us was nothing short of a crime. We have been struggling lately to make ends meet. My girlfriend had everything she owned in storage at this PS location. She was sometimes late on payment but always got it taken care of. A couple of months ago she was really late and they put a lien on her unit and said she had to pay her storage up in full by the 31st of October or it would be up for auction. She was very worried about it but managed to get the money together to pay it but by the time she got to PS to give them the check they had closed. So she put it in the drop box for them to get the next day. Well they got it the next day when they opened up but they considered it late because they got it the morning of the 1st. of November. The money was paid in full but there was also a $6.00 charge tacked on as well which made it also short by the $6.00. So supposedly they tried to email her and call her but they didn't state what they planned to do which was to auction off her storage unit. My girlfriend thought it was about Novembers rent which now she was struggling to get it together. On November 22nd she had the rent together and brought it into to pay but when she got there they told her that her storage unit had been auctioned off and the guy that bought it had loaded it up and left just minutes before she walked in there. She was very upset that her stuff had been auctioned off and PS took no responsibility for it. Now if someone is late with payment but they without fail get it paid eventually, why would PS feel they have the right to auction off their unit ? This was everything she owned and I mean everything. Her deceased Mothers jewelry worth a lot of money but she it had sentimental value so she wanted to hang on to it. She's a decorative painter and all of her work things were in there. All of her personal files along with her daughters birth certificate, her birth certificate and personal information with social security number and tax returns, all her pictures and basically like I said everything she owned. It's tragic and all because PS didn't get their money till the 1st and not the 31st. They didn't send a certified notification of intent to sell her unit that day which they should do and they relied only on a couple phone calls that didn't explain what happened and what they intended on doing. My girlfriend believed she had paid up her storage in full other than Novembers rent which she was paying before the end of November when she walked into the place on November 22nd to find out everything she owned was gone. This is criminal and this is not right. She doesn't have money to pay a lawyer to help her and PS doesn't care at all and won't even return her calls. So if you dare to store anything in this rotten rip off place just be aware that they will just auction your things off at the drop of a hat. Her things are gone now thanks to PS and they're less than fair policies and criminal ways of dealing with people. This should not have happened to someone that was doing their best to pay their bill regardless of whether she was late. They always got their money. I have nothing good to say about PS. Their crooks that take advantage of people and have no regard for peoples belongings. I would understand auctioning off a unit of someone that doesn't pay for 3 months nor tries to pay but my girlfriend was not that case. She cared about her belongings and she tried to keep up with payments even when they raised the rent on her 3 times within a year. Talk about hitting someone when they are down. This place should be shut down and no longer allowed to do business. If you read this PS you should be ashamed of such dirty low down business that you practice and everybody we know we will be warning to stay clear of storing anything in a PS facility. Also I personally am trying to get enough money together so that we can get an attorney and take you to court for this wrong doing. This is not the end of this story by a long shot.
