The place requires a code and bluetooth to get into the storage space ( depending on your floor). The inside is clean, and has temperature control. Most people who also come here are nice and follow the rules. I think my only problem is that they only seem to have 2 rolling carts and they seem to always be in use. Now Public storage as a company has awful customer service and the hold times have been up to 45 minutes for me in the past. But this actual facility is well kept and secure.

Disappointing Experience Handling a Rat Infestation…read more I have been renting a unit at Public Storage on Pacheco Blvd in Martinez since January 2026. Unfortunately, in early June, I discovered evidence of a rat infestation affecting my storage unit. I found what appears to be rodent contamination on items stored inside my unit, despite the fact that I do not store food, pet food, or anything else that would reasonably attract rodents. As soon as I discovered the issue, I notified the property manager, Alex. To his credit, he agreed that pest remediation was needed. However, more than two weeks have passed since I reported the problem, and as of this review, no pest control company has been brought in to address the rat issue. The delay has been frustrating, especially considering the potential risk to customers' belongings. I also requested to be moved to a clean, unaffected unit at no additional cost. Alex relayed my request to the district manager, Billy, who ultimately denied the request. I was disappointed that no reasonable accommodation was offered, particularly given the circumstances and the ongoing concerns about contamination. What bothers me most is not that rodents were found at the facility. Unfortunately, pests can be a problem anywhere. What matters is how management responds when a customer discovers a problem. In my case, I reported the issue immediately, asked for help, and proposed reasonable solutions. Instead, I have been left waiting while the problem remains unresolved. Customers rent storage units because they expect a clean and secure environment for their belongings. If you are considering renting at this location, I recommend asking detailed questions about pest control procedures, response times, and available options if your unit is affected by rodents. I hope Public Storage takes this feedback seriously and improves how these situations are handled going forward. At a minimum, customers deserve timely action, clear communication, and practical solutions when problems like this arise.

She is very committed to doing what she can to keep the lot secure and genuinely cares about managing the business. Last month, I was sitting waiting for my turn to exit the gate as someone was entering. After the vehicle entered, another vehicle snuck in before the gate closed and drove around the truck that opened the gate. There is a strict policy that states everyone must go in and out one at a time in order to prevent unwanted people out. Jackie happened to be watching and immediately got in her vehicle and chased the unauthorized vehicle down. This was first hand proof to me that Jackie actually cares about keeping this lot secure and is very attentive to what's going on in the lot. It made me feel better about storing my boat here knowing that it's in good hands.
