As far as public storage goes, this place is pretty great. They are located right by the highway and have a pretty sizable parking lot. The place requires a code and bluetooth to get into the storage space ( depending on your floor). The inside is clean, and has temperature control. Most people who also come here are nice and follow the rules. I think my only problem is that they only seem to have 2 rolling carts and they seem to always be in use. Now Public storage as a company has awful customer service and the hold times have been up to 45 minutes for me in the past. But this actual facility is well kept and secure. read more

I rented a large unit after we sold our Palm Springs home. The facility on Arnold Drive is very awkward, we got a huge unit located in the basement. Terrible elevator situation with doors that close while you're punching in your 8 digit code. 3 carts, none of which are ever available for customer use for a facility that's modeled as a storage business. Less than 4 months, PS mailed a post card notice saying they have raised the rent starting next billing period. I called to see if that could be waived as I firmly believe this company can and should speculate what the rent should be for AT LEAST the 1st year of rental instead of sticking a customer with rent raise just after finally getting moved in. Made two calls put on hold and the was disconnected. 3rd time was put on hold for 45 minutes and finally got a representative who is the poster child of what customer care should never be. She was terse at best, explained I am on a monthly lease and up for review on a monthly basis and that it's likely they will continue to raise the monthly charge on a quarterly basis followed but a snarky "Anything else I can help you with?" Decided to move out. Happy I did. Going to make sure my experience is shared to anyone considering using them. Will never rent from them under any circumstance. read more

Avoid this site. No one mans the desk. If problems arise, you are screwed. Seek alternatives, better places with better prices. I hate Public Storage. Rented from them over the years while serving in the military. They have really inconvenienced me and cost me time and money. Should be 24 hour access...but they are not. read more

1 star is far too many for this establishment. On 4/15 I went to access my storage space and was met by a sign on the elevator saying the elevator was down. No timeline of when this may be fixed, no notification before hand that this was happening. Was told at first they didn't have stairs then told they do have stairs but no one knows who has the key to the door in the stairs. Woman at the front desk could care less, horrible customer service. Day 2 and we still have no access, 6 calls later to customer service and no one knows when this will be fixed, who has the key to the stairs, or any resolution. District managers number goes straight to voicemail any time you call, pointless to even attempt. District manager finally calls back at 5pm on day 2 let us know he can credit our account 125.00. ha! That doesn't even cover the cost of our monthly payment for our unit. Also lets us know there is still no way we can access our unit or time/day of when we will be able to. Stay away from this place at all costs!!!! read more

My unit was broken into on the basement level on 901 Arnold Drive on Wednesday evening. Nightmare. I have a prestigious biotech residency in Torrey Pines and was not alerted by Public Storage at all. A guitar store called Oakland Guitars called me because a couple of criminals were trying to pawn it off at the store. I flew up and sure enough! My entire unit was ransacked. No help at all from the two people who were new working there. They broke my valuable art, took my mountain bike, broke into a bag and stole my check book, and took a white luggage bag. This is the worst place to rent a unit in USA. Stay away!! multiple units were hit that night on the basement level. Please get in touch with me if you were one of them!!! read more

I got my unit back in September 2022 didn't have any issues until I was notified April. 17 2023 that my unit had been broken into lock cut and cops were involved but theyre telling me they have to go back to feb 2023 and review from the last time i was there to let me know when it was actually broken into so my question is this actually cop stated so hisself they have no idea when it was broken into so they have to go back to the last date i was there back in Feb. They gave me a discount but this isnt gonna keep me quiet considering their employees are rude and i call and they hang up on me of course im gonna be upset i have a 70 inch tv and u dont notice someone walking out with it or a beight orange bmx bike its crazy to me ​very displeased at this point and I've kept quiet long enough read more

This is the worst storage unit ever. My dad died and I was told to get everything out of the storage unit within 2 weeks or I would have to pay $500. When I arrived they had changed the code and told me I had to pay $500 right then. This was the same girl who told me the opposite. Whoever was working on 5/16/23 was a complete B****. She had me in tears and was soooo rude. My recommendation is if someone dies get in there and get their stuff out. DO NOT tell them they have died because that's when they will start to screw you over. read more

Found out recently that this location has had numerous breakins! I also understand management does not report to local police. Seems very sketchy to me. Would highly recommend you go elsewhere. I hope they respond to me here on yelp with what they're doing to prevent the many breaches of security. Oh and did I mention many, if not all their cameras work, nor the alarms on the storage unit doors. read more

Customer service here is lacking. Recently this specific facility neglected to inform it's customers that it would be remodeling (painting) the main lobby and that the units would be unavailable for the entire day. When the district manager Rick Bartlett was contacted to request that he email or manually post such inconveniences for his customers in advance, Rick refused to acknowledge such problems. Maybe if I had taken the time to research the way this guy manages his other properties throughout the East Bay, I wouldn't have missed out on my travel plans due to his negligence. Keep looking. I've had issues with the lock I purchased not working, due to know A/C for a lengthy period. It is impossible to update credit/debit cards on your iPhone, and they raised my rates over 20.00 within 6 months! Customer service is OK just not enough staff. I've used other storage facilities for years and didn't ever have an increase in my monthly charge. Appalled and searching for a new storage facility Now!! read more

I've been using this place for several years now, with multiple spaces. Hank and his crew are great to deal with and help out wherever possible. Access is easy and carts are readily available to move your items both in and out of your space as needed. Elevator passcode system provides great security for your belongings. If I could give this facility ZERO stars I would. First off let me start off by saying we agreed to the terms of our contract that stated that within 30 days they could raise our rate. That's fine but $76 a month they raised our rate after 6 months of having our storage unit. The manager on site "Jax" is crazy. That woman is constantly being disrespectful talking about me to my husband and trying to kiss his ass after there was a supposed "break in" that she blamed on us for using the side door of the storage to move our things in. She told my husband "because you opened that door people were able to break in through that door". Then after she tried to sugar coat her big mouth that she opened by claiming things she never said. Let me also say that when we first signed up we also got a late fee because Jax told us she had set up auto pay on our account and never did. What a NIGHTMARE these people are and their units are not worth $312 a month which is what they raised my price to 2-3 months ago. Go somewhere else just so you don't have to deal with the property manager. Also, if you get a unit on special expect that your rate will raise $75+ a month. GO ELSEWHERE!! This place is not worth the nightmare we've been though and can't wait to get out. read more

First of all, I hate storage with a passion. I am a minimalist at heart and I believe that less is better. However, we have storage units at the Martinez Public Storage facility, and have had them for several years. In fact, Hank the manager and we are all on first name basis. This facility is always very clean and well-maintained. Hank is always friendly, willing and able to help with billing/account questions or to help with passcode problems, etc. I doubt we will ever be without a storage unit. Since we will always have one I am thankful that this clean and well-managed site also happens to be very close to our home. We have dealt with other storage companies in other places and some of those rat-infested, unfriendly and poorly managed sites make us appreciate Hank and this site all the more. We have recommended this Public Storage site to friends who were looking for short-term or long-term storage. read more

There was no staff in the office during normal business hours and the moving carts were locked up so I could not unload my car. I have to put all my projects on hold due to not being able to complete place my items in storage. Also, I left a couple messages for the property manager, and so far no one has returned my call. read more

So disappointed with this storage facility. I had to do a quick move because my job has me traveling all over the country. I had a short amount of turnaround time to pack everything and fly back out. The day I signed the contract, the air conditioner was broken. I started to get a bad feeling but Jax assured me that they fix things promptly. I have many items that need climate control so I had a little trepidation. The next day I started putting things in storage, and the front doors to the facility were broken, and were still broken a week later. I had to pry the doors open every time I entered the facility. Thank goodness I had helpers. Doing that alone with a full pallet would have been difficult. I also had a time constraint with the rental truck so I was unpacking as quickly as possible. At this point, Jax comes running over to my group of helpers and proceeds to reprimand us for using two pallets instead of one. Mind you, this was the very first time in this facility. She was ranting and raving that everyone breaks the rules and now she's going to have to ask for ID's to use the pallets. The next day, I'm back at it, and she once again reprimanded me about the pallet usage. At this point, I stopped her and gave her my opinion about the customer service skills she's obviously lacking. Then I continued my move only to find another lady in tears and covered from head to toe cleaning out her storage unit that was rat infested and covered in rat feces and urine. I asked Jax about this problem, and she insulted my intelligence by telling me that the rats were only over there. Needless to say, I'm on the hunt for a new facility but won't be able to change into for another 3 months because of my traveling. read more

Exceptionally clean, secure storage. Some of the policies are more rigid that what we've seen at other Public Storage facilities, such as a shorter grace period for late payments and no pro-rating if you give notice before the 15th of the month, and they won't allow you to apply a discount on a second unit--even if you rented the first one the same day with no discount because you're no longer a "new customer." But on balance, the level of safety and accessibility here outweighs that. read more

i've been a renter for four years, since Nov 2009. Great service and advice from Hank. This place is very clean and secure. I just downsized to a smaller unit. Unfortunately, this location did NOT have the size that I needed available so, I moved to the facility on Treat Blvd. The reviews of this place are FRIGHTENING, but, so far, so good. Showing me around, filling out the paperwork, giving me details about what I'm doing, he even had a lock for me :) The space was clean and temperature controlled! Well to start it off this was the 1st time I used a storage facility for any reason. My family & I were in a middle of a move and we needed to find a place to store some things to get a head start on the move, I looked for a place that would be close to our new home so it can be a lot easier, & truthfully I picked this public storage by chance just because it was a little bit closer from the others, but im glad I did though the manager Hank is a great guy made it an easy process from the very moment I stepped into the door, informative, & helpful. Easy to talk to. Plus the place is great, clean, good set up, I liked how the facility is AC all through out to, plus safe I went in & out pretty much all hours of which they operate (6-9), so I would definitely recommend this public storage to any one.
