I compared locations, prices, and reviews and set up a couple of appointments to make my final decision. My first visit was to Anchor Storage - with Magdelene (she runs this location). My gosh - What a fun/funny feel-good experience it turned in to! She's certainly a breath of fresh air! During a tour of the facility, and seeing how clean, well-organized, and well-managed Anchor was I cancelled the rest of my appointments, rented a unit there and my day was done! It's hard to get ahold of anyone at this location. You call, no one answers. Leave a message, they may call back, but you usually have to call numerous times. You'll be real lucky if someone is actually in the office. The sign says open, but no one is at the front desk. Doors are locked. This has happened repeated times. read more

I have used storage units in San Jose, CA, San Francisco, CA, Oakland, CA, Vallejo, CA & Vacaville, CA. Out of all those cities I can truly say that ANCHOR SELF STORAGE is the GREATEST, the BEST, the CLEANEST but most of all rodent free. The management and facilities are fantastic. Rich and George are super friendly and helpful. The last facility I was at near Magazine St had 4 managers in 5 years, was poorly maintained and the management was arrogant and not very responsive. However I have been at Anchor for over a month and they are super professional. Its a great facility, very clean, free use of their truck for move in, 2 restrooms for use of tenants, alarmed sensor on unit, working plug receptacle, and high ceilings. I have to say my first impression was a big smile from this staff, Rick, George, and the team. It was so refreshing to see a staff that truly cares about you and your storage needs. I have never used a storage before and I have OCD, and the staff here put me at ease and made things so pleasant. I think the customer service exceeds any service I have ever experienced in Vallejo. Hiring the right people is so key, and they truly have the best staff, very personable, almost like family, I left there smiling all the way home. They give you a warm fuzzy feeling that they value your business and will ensure you remain happy with their services. I am telling all of my friends and co-workers about them. I came when Anchor was first opening, and I must say George is an amazing manager. I came because my previous storage was broken into and I was devastated. George doesn't just work as a stick to the script manager; he works with compassion, he's attentive to his customers and makes you feel completely comfortable. My unit was broken last week. All of my wonderful things are gone. Still Can't believe it.

I couldn't have asked for a better all around experience than I receive here. From the minute I walked in the door to the phone I made the next day. Customer service is better than 100% . They take their to answer your questions and make sure your knowledgeable about your unit and their policy before you sign. I told them I was scary so he gave me a unit close to the door so I wouldn't have to go so far inside if I ever had to come alone. And I needed to rent their truck, that went smoother than ice! All I needed was my proof of insurance and to come pick it up at 9 AM and have it back by 6PM same day $25 with 25 free miles how cool is that?! You can't find that deal anywhere. And the location is so pretty, I love that they have taken just a piece of Vallejo an upgraded it. Sonoma has been such a blight, this new location is a welcoming sight to see. And the 50% of the first 3 months isn't bad either. Lol thank you Anchor! read more

I'd high hopes for this place since it looks well maintained and supervised from the outside but upon entering Dominique the person from behind counter asked the reason why I'm there. It made double check my surroundings since I thought this place provides excellent customer service. I've asked if I can see available units then I proceeded to follow. Just an fyi before coming in here I was at a different storage facility and the lady there helped me thoroughly by asking what type of furnitures I am bringing and gave suggestions on what are my options will work with my situation. So Dominique led me to an empty 5x10 unit that is soiled with brown stain on the floor. He asked if I still have any questions. I wanted to know how many entrances the indoor building has and he said he was confused with my question. After that I did not follow up with any more questions since he was obviously in a hurry to get back to his seat. I was expecting him to provide me information about the security of the storage units and at least give me quotes for different sizes of the units and an overall pitch. I guess I just have a high expectation when it comes to customer service. I chuckled a little after getting back to my vehicle thinking the reviews here in Yelp are a joke. Please hire more sensible people, it doesn't take so much effort to provide customer service. read more

Nothing wrong with the storage units, but while conducting business in the office, another person (I assume an employee since he was behind the counter) broke into the conversation and was incredibly rude, amazingly insulting and actively hostile. Anchor is a most excellent choice to chose to store your "things". The prices have stayed the same for approximately 2 years. The bigger, more corporate storage companies keep raising the prices, making it impossible to budget. Anchor storage is clean, reliable, and the employees are super friendly and helpful. read more

This place is so very different from the typical self-storage business. First off, it is immaculate. I have an inside unit, and the hallway walls are white! Not a gum wrapper anywhere. Plenty of carts to help you move stuff. The staff is very professional and friendly. I keep seeing them out and about just looking things over. I feel comfortable having my stuff here. When we were in need of a small amount of storage with very little notice, I inquired with this place first. My original reason was superficial - I liked their signage. But upon calling for more information, I was very pleased with the customer care of the manager, George, and was satisfied with the special they were running. Even better, when I went in to sign up and get access to a unit, George went above and beyond to make the experience as smooth as possible. It'd been a horribly stressful week, leading in to an overly busy weekend, and I couldn't have asked for better service and care. Security is set up well. The units are satisfactory.
