Although I did not end up needing temporary moving storage, the folks I spoke to listened and responded with expertise. The local manager, Jessica, even offered to check back in two weeks when my circumstances were clearer without obligation. Buyer beware. I was rented a "storage unit" that did not have an adequate roof to keep out water intrusion when it rained. As a result, many items of great personal value were damaged or destroyed including - original paintings that were gifts from friends and family members, a framed letter from a college professor, and books. Several items I had kept for decades. Although I was not warned about water intrusion, management had draped a plastic membrane across the ceiling of my unit. The presence of the membrane shows prior knowledge of the problem. Unfortunately, the membrane above my unit developed a hole, allowing water intrusion and mold damage. The response from staff was interesting - "make an insurance claim". After all, I had been forced to purchase renters insurance with a policy limit of $2000. Turns out, the insurance company is playing hardball (over a max $2000 claim). After promising a prompt response, they failed to get back to me for 2 months. Now, they have demanded an itemized list of damaged items (after I sent numerous photos), including any receipts or appraisals. They also demanded to know my occupation, as if I don't have anything better to do than make insurance claims after my belongings are destroyed due to negligence. All of this, after a slick salesperson (who I will not name) told me they had "one more unit" that met my requirements - small, and rent under $200. Of course, this person did not point out the plastic membrane or advise me of the problem. As far as I know, there is no plan from management to repair the roof. They will just patch the membrane, and hope for the best. When I moved out, I was actually told that "several other" units had experienced water intrusion. To think, I chose this location due to their flexible access times - I almost chose a different storage company in Vallejo where my items would have been safe. I remember driving away from the place, seeing the gang graffiti and thinking the place looked sketchy. Should have trusted my gut. Too bad there is no second chance for prized family heirlooms. read more

I initially started with a 5x5 unit snd just recently upgraded into a 10x10. They had a flash online sale for the same price as the 5x5 so I went ahead and took the opportunity to upgrade. From speaking to Jennifer and then speaking with Jessica I received nothing but excellent service. They were able to take care of me when miscommunications were brought up. I've always had a great experience with the storage facility. They are always very accommodating when you need assistance and helpful when trying to negotiate a fair price for units. I have been here a couple years and noticed my rent becoming way above market value, Jessica helped me in bringing it down to an agreeable price and I appreciate her help in that. It's benefits for the management and the owner!' I have been renting the unit at ESS from the small unit 5x5 in 2019 expand to the big unit 10x10 in 2022 until now. UNFORTUNATELY! I got burglarized twice in this facility. 1st on March 30th,2024 Break In 7 units in building 13. My unit infected, but thankfully my stuff is safe! They just damage the sliding door, but next to my unit got burglarized really bad. 2nd time on April 26th,2024 According to the manager ( Jennifer) 2 units got burglarized. It's in building 12. The sliding door of my unit was perfectly LOCK when I was going to get something from my unit. I opened the sliding door with my own key, like nothing happened. Then... when I slides up the sliding door was open, empty boxes and some stuff falling to me. My unit was a messed!!! Someone from inside the company must be have duplicate key or fake it. I got BURGLARIZED!!!! They opened the door stole my stuff and lock it back perfectly after they took my stuff! Smart thief !!!!! Most of my good stuff gone!!! I noticed and see, my 2 big suitcases full of my good clothes, purses are gone, a lot of my boxes full of my shoes, memorable, sport stuff are gone!! They emptied a lot of boxes!! This is happening every month!!! ESS doesn't look good now! I called the manger (Jennifer) right away. She came and look at my unit was a messed! She only suggesting me to make a police report and claim the insurance. SURE! Nothing can be done? I am shock, numb, disappointed and sad this happened. Apparently this facility there is NO camera in the each hallway inside the building. Make all the vallejo bad people so easy to break in. I wanted to warned the new customers. Be careful with this facility! I am not saying the manager not doing a good job. Which is she does well a good job. The MANAGEMENT a need to make changes for the safety and watch who you hire new people. Very disappointed! I am giving ESS company super BAD review!! read more

I had an attempt on my locker several weeks ago. I was promised new locks, locking security entrances to locker spaces. I was promised cameras, and extra security patrols. My locker was broke in and they did not call til the next day while telling me they called. thank God for caller ID. To add insult to injury in their attempt to clean up they threw my belongings back in on top of everything breaking any glass and destroying what was left valuable. the locks mean NOTHING!! they knew that they were under siege and did nothing. the doors are made of aluminum. with no one patrolling at night they are left as safe as if you left it outside in your front yard. get your stuff NOW. and if your fool enough to store anything here...well you have been warned. read more
