Look elsewhere. I was looking for a long-term storage and at the time this was the best deal. I get that there will be price increases maybe once a year but twice a year? Come on, went up $260 within one year! Maybe not the locations fault but as a company as a whole. This is for a 10x20. See pics for price increases. Ridiculous. read more

I just really need to give this lady a shout out!!!! STACEY...I must say, Ive never experience dealing with a customer service rep like Stacey she keep her word she works with you, she try to find the best deals to fit your financial situations. The one number one thing for me is when I leave she always returns my call within a timely manner unlike other storage places very unprofessional. I must say she is a wonderful value to the team and if anyone deserves a rise/ promotion. I will have to say she definitely do. She very professional and very honest! read more

DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! My stuffed got stolen and they pretended that it was a burglary. Stacey called and other staffed called stating that something happened to my unit. I went there the day of she called me about the (per se the incident happen. She mentioned that she has a police report but would not provide me the video cameras when I ask . Filled a police report, filled an insurance claim. So with that being said I ask my Aunt to come get me so I could analyze to find out what else are missing she came and help me. We both made sure that the lock was locked before leaving the property. Then the following day another staffed member left a message stating that I incorrectly locked the new lock that was given. I was very disappointed when I spoked to the staffed. I have been with them for exactly a year. I pick this one because it's close to my sister's house. I even recommend them to my Aunt, but when this happened we both immediately decided to go back to security storage. Hopefully the officer will find out what had happened of the videos I requested will be provided. read more

Stacy was informative and helpful. The place was clean and tidy, and a good value. I suggest you look up storage.com where you can see special offers. read more

Renting storage space was very effort less. All I had to do was request what size unit I needed submit my billing information and move in. The move in process was very simple. Everything I needed was emailed to me; from the gate access code to clear how to instructions, and they even provided me a lock in case I didn't have one. No one necessarily was needed to complete my move in process. Very effortless. Thank you public storage!!! read more

Marina at the front desk made the process very easy for me! I recently lost a family member and was having a rough time looking for storage but she brightened my day! This place had some of the best prices when I was doing my research. The units were cleaned and spacious. Would definitely recommend. read more

I rented a unit a year ago. My rent started out at $200 then went to $300 now we are at $504 all in 12 months. I called up and spoke to someone who said they would put in a request to lower the amount. That my rent is the highest at the location and he does not understand why. He instructed me to call back in 2 days to check if my request had been approved. Well I called back in 2 days and the next person to answer say they do not have a request submitted. There has been no request made. I asked how can I move out. He said just move out. I then asked how will you know to stop billing me? He says, just inform the office. I have NEVER seen the office open. I asked how do I inform them? Oh just call them. He gives me there number. This is just bad business. I am in the process of moving to the new storage place in Hercules. Hopefully I will have better luck with their communication and customer service. I know the prices are 50% cheaper than this place. And if I tried to rent the same unit today that I am paying $504 a month on it is going for $200 on their website. How ridiculous is that. **Edit** I finally received notification that I received a reduction of $51. My new rent is $453.00. The unit is currently for rent on the website for $200. I guess i could move my stuff out and rent another unit for more than a 50% discount. I have instead choose to move my stuff. Not sure why I'm being charged over double for the same thing. And I'm not trying to find out either. read more

After visiting several locations, this one seems to have the friendliest staff. I would like to thank Marina for being extremely helpful, answering every question I had. She broke down the rental agreement for me because I am not too familiar with the terms. This made me feel confident in my decision of booking here. read more

I have bad memories of this place and I wish I had never stored my belongings here. We were relocating from San Diego and had our belonging in storage until we found our own place to live in July. We ended up getting broken into. My family lost a lot of stuff. My kids lost all their clothing, toys, furniture, bedding and much more. Our bolt was cut in just one week of moving here. Customer service was awful and there was no compassion towards us. We were made to purchase one of Public's lock to replace the one that was cut and given only one key to it instead of both keys. We were told that they DO NOT review the security cameras and that they were NOT going to review the last 48 hours of the camera footage for suspicious activity even though we were just broken into. On top of this, we were never notified that our lock was cut or missing. We had to find out on our own when we drove up to pick up belongings. When I asked the person at the front desk about this, he pretty much got angry that I would even ask that question. The insurance we purchased through Public Storage cared little for us and denied our claim based on not enough evidence that there was a "forced entry". Although our police report Case # P17-1812 stated that there certainly was a forced entry into the storage unit. We lost over $11,000 without any type of insurance reimbursement. It was hard enough having to relocate from San Diego because of work. Even harder getting all you stuff stolen. The rent here is not cheap, so you expect better security, which unfortunately was not provided. read more

Check out public storage on 640 San Pablo good Folks check with The Lady at The Front desk she's super cool and will take care of you

This place is totally inadequate. We closed our unit and went somewhere else. Our unit was built on a slope so anything with wheels will roll away when you're not looking. Then there was no drive around exit meaning there was only one way to get to our unit so you had to bust a u-turn to get out. Try that in a U-Haul. Our stuff also had some water damage which they claimed they weren't responsible for. Bottom line pay a little more and go somewhere else. read more

I wouldn't even give this place a one star - It deserves 0 stars. My unit was broken into and the only thing the manager said was ........ NOTHING absolutely nothing, but sorry. Take my advice .. look elsewhere. read more

Rent doubled in 6 months. Worse, my daughter witnessed racism from a large, Mexican woman worker towards us there. I feel uncomfortable speaking up, but my daughter insisted I leave a review or say or do something. She said it's not right, it's rude, and I shouldn't let it go. I drove from an hour away, to find the utilities close at 6 pm instead of 9 pm. I got in a few minutes before they close. A large woman told me to leave. She said nothing to the white men moving things at their units. She zeroed in on me alone. It was still before 6 pm. I asked if I could get some things, even 5 or 10 minutes, she asked where my unit was, and I said by where I parked. I was just going around another way to avoid the man there. (6 feet distancing.) She said no and insisted I leave. I got a flat tire as well as none of the emergency supplies my family need. So, thanks for nothing, Public Storage. It's really in these times people can show their best or worst sides. Nice to know yours is racist. -Asian mom & daughter read more

I moved out before my due date and I was still charged the full next month because I was on auto-pay. Having anyone call you back does not happen, you can forget about a refund. They tell you it's in your contract but the contract states if you get billed in the 1st of the month which is not when my contract started. It also states they can charge a third for the day. Well I left my account open per my property manager in case they see it closed they won't refund any money. Well I moved out Sept 3rd have been calling since, today is Sept 15th and still have not heard back from Customer service, district manager, left a message for the property manager to close my unit today and sent an email on line to vacate. I don't know if anyone will get back to me. read more

I recently had an altercation with my boyfriend at this property and because of that I was evicted I did nothing wrong and believe I was treated unfairly.I also think the property is turning into a dump and I advise any one who is thinking of renting should measure the space because it will come up short then they will have to offer you a deal on a bigger space. read more

This is by far the best of the public storage facilities I've encountered. And, Bruce, the manager couldn't be more friendly and accommodating. I most enjoy the fact that there is lighting in my unit, something the other places did not have. Security is taken seriously here, as the other place I was at was broken into constantly. Plus their long gate hours cater to my after-work hours. I love Pinole Public Storage! ~FBRoxy read more

My dad has been a customer of this place for years. But this time, my mom needed a storage for a couple of months. So I called on 4/2/17 to see if they had anything available right away for just a couple of months. I spoke with Lisa and she was very helpful. We needed to put some stuff away right away and she even made sure to let us know when she was taking lunch so we wouldn't miss her. When we finally got over to the storage place, she was very friendly and accomodating. At this point in the day, we were extremely exhausted from moving all weekend and the last thing we needed was something time consuming. Thank goodness for Lisa! I think we were there for a total of 30 minutes that day. She got us the right unit, filled out the paperwork and put our stuff away and were out of there and on to our next task. This is how business should be done. read more

I had the best experience with Bruce. He made my rental process easy and smooth. I would recommend this location

I've had a really good experience with the customer service at this location. When my credit card expired and did not fulfill the autopay, they called me to remind me to change out the card and pay the balance before the 10th to avoid late fees. When I neglected to lock my lock correctly, Bruce change out the lock for me and then held my original lock until I could pick it up in person. I've been very happy with this location and especially the customer service. read more

This place of business sucks!! I've only been renting their since January 2018. In this time period they have raised my rent 2 times, $50 each and somebody cut my lock and stole my possessions and there's a rodent in my unit eating my stuff. My life story is in That unit. Since I'm on a limited income it makes it hard to pay, and if your late with payment, oh boy they charge you $42.90 late fee for 1day lateness. I don't suggest this place to anyone, if u don't want to get price gouged!! read more

Had a negative experience with some of the staff the manager did work it out and everything did get worked out in the end.

RENTER BEWARE: RENT MAY GO SIGNIFICANTLY HIGHER MONTHLY: 9/8/2018: Sarah was very helpful. The unit or pricing was as listed. I did NOT receive the advertised $1.00 first month rent but the rate seemed good without using that due to price duration. I was told rate would not change. I had asked how long the rate was good for because it was a good rate that would remain for the foreseeable future. Everything was good. She emailed me the receipt & contract. It was difficult to read there as it was only emailed to me & I only had my phone with me - not a computer. I foolishly trusted Public Storage & this Public Storage representative as she seemed trustworthy. 1/28/2019 (less than 6 months later) I received notice of rate increase (25%) & they will not adjust. I did not expect such drastic increases & lack of concern for customers. The lease does state month to month but how could anyone anticipate such drastic rate increases? read more

DON'T!!! I repeat DON'T store your stuff here unless you don't care about it! I'm only giving one star because I can't give negative stars! I had my stuff here for less than a month before we were broken into. We didn't even finish moving in all our stuff. The lock was not broken but someone was able to access my unit and go through every single box I had in there. I had maybe 30 big Home Depot boxes full and 10 of those blue plastic bins full and someone had time to go through each box. I made a police report and the officer couldn't see any proof of force entry so basically someone else had a key. When I got the unit the worker gave me 2 keys and I had one and my husband had the other in our possession at all times. The lock was not in a package. When the worker showed me the unit she already had the lock in her hand and when we said we liked that unit she put the lock on right then and handed us the keys. When the police officer was doing the inspection he stated that it looks like it was "in house". The manager lives onsite. The day we noticed, when we went to add more boxes because we were still moving in and we noticed that our stuff had been messed with, we went directly to the manager. He acted like he was shocked that someone was able to get in. Seemed like a fake reaction in my opinion. I don't know if it was him or another employee or someone they know but obviously someone else had a key to my lock and had time. Knowing they don't have cameras watching all the units which I didn't know until I asked him to pull up his cameras. He said we only have cameras in the entry and exit gates so it could be anyone. I called corporate to make a complaint and when I talked to the one in charge of this location his response was : "I doubt it was on our end, the manager has been with us for 30 years and the employee that helped you had been here for over a year and I've never had any problems with either of them." Basically he didn't believe me and didn't do anything to help me. When I moved my stuff out of there, there were different people running the desk. Kind of looked like one was working there and the other person was there keeping her company. That was strange to me. Please save yourself the trouble and never trust this place!! read more

All I have to say is Bruce is one of the best sales people I have ever had the chance to work with. This place is great!! It is super clean and very spacious.
