We were moving from one city in AZ to another and had a lifetime of acquired items, many of them extremely heavy and awkward, yet priceless. The crew that was sent to help us was TOP NOTCH! The time, care, and knowledge given to us went above and beyond what I had "expected". The crew was friendly and fun, making our moving experience relaxed and exciting (I sincerely hope to see them at the other end of our adventure). The prices are fair, service perfect, and they didn't even mind me bossing them around, lol. I would DEFINITELY refer the company to anyone needing assistance on any move, big or small Thank you Gentlemen, you are so very appreciated.

10 x 5 storage unit is actually 3.5 ft wide

Beware of inaccurately advertised dimensions! Completely false advertising and classic bait and switch. Signed agreement to rent a 10x5 ft (50sqft) storage unit for $46. When I got there, was told they couldn't show the units because of social distancing (okay well let's all where masks and I can easily walk 6ft behind you) but I went ahead and signed agreement in good faith. Got to my unit and it was clearly not 5 ft wide. Took out my tape measure and it was 3.5 ft wide (see photo). That's 30% less floor space then advertised. I don't tell people I'm approximate 7 ft tall when I'm actually 5'7". When I asked for a different unit because of the dimensions, I was told I could have a upstairs unit for $66, a while $20 more per month. Told them I wasn't happy because this was bait and switch and I already wasted 1 hr doing paperwork and loading my car and cart. Asked them for a refund and it took 10 phone calls to get a $1 refund and then I was told the $24 admin fee was not refundable. What a complete scam - they will do anything to try to get your money. I actually had a previous bad run in with this company years ago when someone still my identity to rent a unit. Even after I reported it to the police and to them, they continued to send threatening debt collections letters and actually sent me to a debt collector. After threatening legal action against them, it finally got resolved. I thought I'd give the company a second chance but clearly I was wrong. If you are looking for an ethical company to work with, this is not them.

Erika was very friendly and helpful. She made the process very easy for setting up the storage unit.

All my questions were answered and she even offered to sell me boxes and bubble wrap if I needed them.

I notified Tiffany the manager that I had a new debit card being shipped to me and that I just needed a little time for it to arrive and then I would set up the payment promptly. In less than two weeks time after my due date red locks were placed on my storage units which prevented me from Gaining access to my personal belongings. I received my debit card went online and fixed my automatic payments and brought my account current and notified the store manager of doing so and she logged into my account and verified my payment and that my account was current and up to date. I was notified and promised that the locks would be removed from my storage units so that I could gain access to my personal belongings that night. After work I drove over 30 miles from Scottsdale to South Phoenix to gain access to my storage units not only to find Not only was I completely restricted from the property electronically but the red padlocks were still on my units and still preventing me from obtaining my belongings. For the second night in a row I have wasted over $50 in gas driving back and forth just trying to get access to my units that I pay for. This is my first time purchasing and renting storage units from any facility and it has been nothing but an absolute nightmare since first reserving my units online with Extra Space Storage at their 1935 West Broadway location in Phoenix. Not only was I charged late fees but I was completely restricted access to the property and to my units entirely in less than two weeks time after a missed payment. I could understand being locked out of your units maybe after a month or two behind on payments but in less than 2 weeks time seems very much excessive and over the top. On top of that contacting the manager and being promised that the padlocks would be removed from my unit so I could gain access to my goods and then driving all the way down there to find out that that did not happen not only is disappointing but it's quite a financial hit to my wallet and bank account with the amount of gas prices these days. I have already begun searching the internet for a closer location with similar or better prices and that might be possibly managed a bit more thoroughly and effectively than this location is currently. I had sold a few items on Craigslist that were being stored in my containers and I needed to gain access to retrieve those items and I wasn't able to do so therefore I ended up losing the sale because of it. Having to yet again rent another U-Haul to move to 10x20 storage units full of household items and personal belongings is going to be quite difficult at this time but I would rather do that than have to deal with another incident like this in the future with Extra Space Storage.

After that, expect the rent rate to double at a minimum.. then what will you do.. spend money to hire people to move you entirely out? No. They got you, and they are allowed to do this. Is it right? No. Other places don't do this, like U-Haul, Self Storage... they are pricier up front but when you average it over 12 months.. take the mean cost.. it's cheaper. Then.. have you ever missed a payment on ANY bill in your life? You think the contract follows govt rules? Bet again. This location specifically will violate your rights and flat out lie about it. They will give you the run around, specifically gave me a phone number "to corporate" that was out of service, then made me speak to a poor girl on the phone that had no idea what was happening she was just a front desk girl, the coward manager wouldn't talk anymore because she knew she was in the wrong... missed one payment and THEY AUCTIONED OFF EVERYTHJNG. I got a text message saying "thank you for being a loyal customer". Oh I'd say they should have probably picked someone more ignorant than myself to do this to... but then again I would also guess they do this a lot. Just so happens I am a fantastic record keeper and have a lot of time on my hands as well as resources. Do YOURSELF a solid by going somewhere else, though. Because ethics matter when you store items that matter.. otherwise you wouldn't be storing them, right? You'd just give them up in the first place. This company has an entire side business making money off auctioning off units. If it's part of their annual revenue, and they rely on it... don't do it. They either take your money through rent or they take your money by selling your stuff and they don't give a sh*t. No f@cks given. Don't take the chance. It's like a dental office that gives you a candy bag on your way out.
