As we were packing we discovered the amount of items we needed to store were expanding. Judy realized they didn't have a 3rd unit and called several other local storage facilities in an attempt to help me locate one. When that didn't come to fruition, Judy emptied the unit they use to store their items for the facility and rented that to me as well. The place is clean and secure. Easily accessed. If I ever need storage again, I will call Greenway Mini Storage first. And I have and will continue to recommend them to anyone who asks.

They aren't open 24 hours a day, but their hours were never a problem. In fact, the only problem I had was remembering which unit was mine (again, they helped me with a smile). The unit was climate controlled - not enough to store wine or chocolate during the summer, but enough that my bicycle tires stayed in good shape. They also automatically charged my credit card - something I'm always worried about being accurate. It helped so much to know I didn't have to remember a monthly payment. First, they lured me in with an introductory rate, but made no mention that it was an introductory rate. My rent has increased 42% in 16 months. The possibility of rent increases are in the contract, but that kind of hike needs to be made abundantly clear from the start ("this is an introductory price ..." . I was extremely surprised at all of the increases I've had in just over one year's time. But, they got me. Access to storage is not much longer than normal business hours, which can be problematic. What's worse, they require you to provide proof of insurance or they will automatically bill you for monthly insurance. Unfortunately their central office and local office are not always on the same page, so I will receive notices multiple times a year from each for me to send them my insurance policy, even after I've already done it. In 16 months I've had to be on the phone with them somewhere in the 5 to 10 times range with billing or insurance problems, and add to that multiple emails. I send them stuff and they conveniently don't receive it. Last time, the proof I showed wasn't enough and they needed the declarations page from my actual policy and additional insurance info. I've got to contact my insurance company and find out the information that they want. All of this so that they can charge me an extra $12 a month. This sort of thing happens multiple times per year. Absolute madness. But I have so much stuff in storage that I would have to hire a moving truck to get it out and into a new unit with a new company. They have me over a barrel, and they know it. What an absolute mistake I made renting from this company. Huge regrets. This is the absolute worst experience I've ever had renting from a storage space, and I have been doing this for well over 15 years. Save your time (so, so much time) and money and stay away from this company.

The process of reserving the unit was super easy, the first day check-in was smooth and every time, my visits are seamless. I love that they provide a bunch of carts that you can use to load and unload. My unit it located right outside of the elevator in the basement so it's super convenient when moving a lot of work boxes. All in all, I've been thrilled with my experience so far and my husband is SUPER happy to not have boxes on boxes of work supplies taking up space in our garage. :) I also think it's very affordable for an air conditioned unit (almost a must here in AZ, unless you're just storing paper!). However, the luxury is that you can drive your car INTO THE BUILDING and unload your car in the air conditioning and park in the shade while you unpack. It's insanely perfect for the hot Arizona climate and we love, love it! While we reserved our unit online, we ended up going into the office for our keys and a quick tour. David was our contact and he was STUPENDOUS. He was more than helpful. He explained all the protocols and offered to help us get closer to the working elevator since we were moving immediately. He killed it on sales and customer service and we stuck with the bigger unit because we realized we'll store more here than usual since it's convenient and so comfortable to access. Further, we feel totally safe in this until, unpacking is a breeze and only other storage people are around. We are in a community of people who are all packing, moving and storing items and CARE. They hustle their carts to us when they are done, they hold the door on the elevator for us, and they wish us well. (It's 100% different than the hot, sweaty, dusty mess of panhandlers and homeless camps outside our last storage unit.) And yes, this is in the middle of Central Phoenix on 19th Avenue and Northern, super convenient for us. The only downside is that there are only 3 carts that we could find. So if it was busy, you have to wait. I think they might want to grab 5-6 carts for weekend traffic.

This is a huge inconvenience because it makes accessing the majority of the units impossible while entering with many trucks, trailers and moving vehicles. The fact that out rates (two units) have more than doubled in a year, and not maintaining the property/units is not acceptable. We have spoke with many other tenants while there and they are equally or more frustrated. We have heard a couple stories much worse than ours. It's not surprising why so many people have been moving out lately. While it may be convenient to our home we will be finding somewhere else with better staff and facilities.
