The most recent quoted move was significantly higher at a flat $500, with an additional $180 charged in 30-minute increments (rounded up) for any time over the agreed period via the Groupon deal. During the most recent interaction, I was charged unexpected extra fees. When I questioned them, the representative hung up on me. I called back to request assistance in recovering funds through Groupon. The representative again stated that Groupon is a third party and not their problem, then hung up on me a second time. Email from Lisa (for reference): "Thank you for sending this over. We have 6/12 arrival 630-7am. For the Groupon we will need the Groupon redemption code and I can send over our contract and payment link for the trip fee $100 + $40 mileage fee and $90 moving supplies that are required to properly protect and handle your belongings (stretch wrap, mattress bags and tape). On the day of service any additional hours are $180 prorated in 30 minute increments rounded up. Please let me know if you have any questions Thank you Lisa" You may verify yourself whether these additional charges are clearly disclosed in the original Groupon description. Edit after laughable response from owner: I have receipts from th bank showing I received a full refund. No need to lie. Service Issues: * First Move: The crew initially performed a walkthrough and appeared professional. However, after the move was completed, they had forgotten one of my televisions. Despite pointing it out, they offered no solution and simply left. I was forced to arrange separate transportation for the large TV myself. While the crew was polite, the lack of accountability after a walkthrough was unacceptable. * Second Move (No-Show): The movers failed to show up entirely. I filed a dispute with my credit card, which resulted in a full refund. Credit Card Refund Confirmation: "We are writing to inform you that a refund has been initiated in connection with your recent transaction with Soft Touch Moving. After reviewing your dispute and the details provided, we have processed a reversal of the applicable charge. The credited amount will be returned to your account ending in **** within 3-5 business days, depending on your financial institution's posting times. No further action is required from you at this time. If you do not see the refund reflected after the stated timeframe, please contact us so we can assist you further. The first time I was left extremely impressed and overwhelmingly happy, this is the exact reason I chose Cor to help my moving needs again. My second move ended up being a complete opposite experience and moving nightmare. First off I booked with Dan a month ahead of my move and the date and time was confirmed from 8-9am on Friday. The week of my move Dan called and moved my time to a mid afternoon timeslot which caused major backlog to my day and appointments I had organized/scheduled. Next, the two man team showed up and immediately were surprised that the job was not a 1 bedroom quick move job. I very clearly described my needs to be a 2 bedroom apartment(1st floor, no stairs) move into a single story home I recently purchased. I also had a 5x5 storage unit that I needed to get moved over and was part of the original job and quote. So in recap I had a 2 bedroom first floor apartment and single story 5x5 storage unit 5 minutes away needing to be moved. The movers once again we're surprised and frustrated to show up to a 2 bedroom job after being told by their boss Dan that the job was a quick 1 bed and storage unit move. I know this as they expressed their displeasure multiple times by saying things- this isn't a 1 bedroom, this is going to take us all day, we should have done this job first thing this morning, I dont want to work until 6pm today, etc. This instantly raised red flags and concerns. I reached out to Dan and expressed my concern. He stated that he didn't know where the mixup happened and offered to lower the hourly rate from $115/hr to $110/hr. I do believe most people would've expected something more for such a big blunder. Besides the point now. The two man team continued to work and boy did they try to move as fast as possible. Throughout the initial move out of my apartment I was approached numerous times with decisions of why they couldn't move everything and only wanted to target big stuff. Their reasoning was to make the job faster and to save me money. Unfortunately on the day I moved, it rained for about 45 minutes in AZ. During the process of it raining, I was approached and told why they couldn't do much more and my storage unit would not be moved any longer on the same day. Not only this but their truck was almost full and they couldn't complete moving everything from my apartment either. I was offered the opportunity for them to come back and finish moving my storage unit 4 days later at a cost to me to finish the original job. The truck was full and off the movers went to drop off at my house. During offload my furniture was handled extremely rough. My couch cushion were literally thrown into my house on the floor. You could tell the game was how quickly can we offload and get out of here. They finished offload and I settled up with Dan over the phone. My original quote was a range of $345-575. I ended up paying $770 with a 3% credit card surcharge. On top of a customary tip to the 2 movers for a physical job. Now I have to rent a uhaul truck the next day and finish my move out of my apartment and my storage unit on my own. This will end up costing me more money to finish the original job I hired Cor to help me with all along. I've now inspected and found many problems from the move: -Upon moving my belongings my kids bunk beds were disassembled and parts were lost that doesn't allow me to safely stack them together any longer. -My couches are dirty from the mishandling and lack of care with the cushions literally being thrown around and onto the ground. -one of the legs on my entertainment center was broke and now is unstable. -booksheleves missing hardware -boxes stacked on top of each other without care for weight, heavy boxes sitting on lighter boxes smashing my stuff inside. Now back at my apartment I have damaged floors from the movers as well. Job left incomplete and belongings damaged, parts lost, and belongings spread around. Look at all your moving options. The location is close to Anthem, but not in an ideal area. There is no attendant on site. The move…read morein process was easy. I was able to complete everything over the phone and by text to move in. The unit door was open and it was desert dirty when moving in. There were screws, small tools, etc all over the unit and in front of the unit. The unit was drywall inside. It had dents and dings, and is not completed. They claim it is a 9×11, but we measured it and it's actually 8×10. We paid 90 a month. The move out process has not been as easy. I called on 12/21 to advise we would be moved out by 12/24 and not to bill me again. They advised I would need to send a photo of the empty unit with the door up, showing the unit number, and swept out. I emailed the pictures on 12/24 and requested a confirmation they were received and that I would not be billed again. I received a response on 12/26 thanking me for the pictures, and they would send me a confirmation once they did a physical inspection. I'm not sure why the pictures were necessary if they do an inspection. I sent a follow up today to make sure I won't be billed again, and am waiting for a response. If I don't hear anything by Friday morning, I will cancel my credit card. Yes, it's $15 cheaper than Uhaul storage, but it's not worth the hassle.
