Great facility, clean, no bugs. Rate is reasonable and very convenient to load and upload as they also have a few moving carts so easy to move items from trucks to storage unit. Store manager Steve is super helpful too! Highly recommend this place!! read more

Do not rent here we have mice infested in our unit. Over $2000 in damage and they only cover up to $2000. Spoke with other renters and they have the same problem. Manager and District Manager were not helpful or caring about our damage and trying to get the facility inspected read more

Zero stars. This place should be shut down for fraud. Crazy that a business can lie to your face to take your money. Get ever my single thing they say in writing! They literally lie, speak to customers as if they are incompetent, raise rates extensively, and steal your money. 1st Lie- Before move in, manager Ray told me on the phone that once my rate went up I could call and they would, as a curtesy, drop it back down to the online rate. When I moved in, employee Cruz said the same thing. When my rate went up I called and manager James was super rude, basically called me a liar, said I had no proof and should have got it in writing, and he wasn't going to help me (his words). So I was stuck paying double what I was quoted and treated very disrespectfully over the phone. 2nd lie- I scheduled my move out in advance and asked to extend my payment date. Employee Elaine handled my requests on the phone and assured me no problem. However, she somehow did not schedule my move out or extension in the system so I got charged and extra month beyond my move out day and my account overdrawn because she did not enter the extension either. 3rd Lie - After I was charged a whole other month due to their mistake, I called to complain and get it fixed. Spoke to manager Kyle. He said I could reschedule my move out and when I moved out I could get a "prorated refund." When I moved out I called about the refund (since I scheduled my move out appropriately but they made the mistake of not entering it correctly). The woman on the phone said extra space does not give refunds. They refused to refund me half a month that they mistakenly charged me for! No accountability, no ownership on promises, no common curtesy or decency, and definitely no respect or professionalism. If you want to get ripped off and lied to, this is the place. read more

I received a phone call from the operating manager at the 1935 West Broadway location of Extra Space Storage in Phoenix notifying me that my automatic payment did not go through. I notified Tiffany the manager that I had a new debit card being shipped to me and that I just needed a little time for it to arrive and then I would set up the payment promptly. In less than two weeks time after my due date red locks were placed on my storage units which prevented me from Gaining access to my personal belongings. I received my debit card went online and fixed my automatic payments and brought my account current and notified the store manager of doing so and she logged into my account and verified my payment and that my account was current and up to date. I was notified and promised that the locks would be removed from my storage units so that I could gain access to my personal belongings that night. After work I drove over 30 miles from Scottsdale to South Phoenix to gain access to my storage units not only to find Not only was I completely restricted from the property electronically but the red padlocks were still on my units and still preventing me from obtaining my belongings. For the second night in a row I have wasted over $50 in gas driving back and forth just trying to get access to my units that I pay for. This is my first time purchasing and renting storage units from any facility and it has been nothing but an absolute nightmare since first reserving my units online with Extra Space Storage at their 1935 West Broadway location in Phoenix. Not only was I charged late fees but I was completely restricted access to the property and to my units entirely in less than two weeks time after a missed payment. I could understand being locked out of your units maybe after a month or two behind on payments but in less than 2 weeks time seems very much excessive and over the top. On top of that contacting the manager and being promised that the padlocks would be removed from my unit so I could gain access to my goods and then driving all the way down there to find out that that did not happen not only is disappointing but it's quite a financial hit to my wallet and bank account with the amount of gas prices these days. I have already begun searching the internet for a closer location with similar or better prices and that might be possibly managed a bit more thoroughly and effectively than this location is currently. I had sold a few items on Craigslist that were being stored in my containers and I needed to gain access to retrieve those items and I wasn't able to do so therefore I ended up losing the sale because of it. Having to yet again rent another U-Haul to move to 10x20 storage units full of household items and personal belongings is going to be quite difficult at this time but I would rather do that than have to deal with another incident like this in the future with Extra Space Storage. read more

We needed a space to store all our things while we closed on our new home and being pressed for time I went to this location on 27th st and Greenway Parkway, glad I did! Service is the best and the faculty great and the facility is super clean and air conditioned. A/C is critical here in Phoenix, don't let anyone tell you otherwise!!! I highly recommend this particular location since the staff are top notch. read more

Great storage facility. Steve is great to work with. Great communication and service.

Steve at Extra Space Storage is the finest! He is always a delight to see and talk to when I'm stopping by my storage unit. Always helpful when I need assistance, gives me courtesy calls when I forget to lock my unit, he definitely keeps an eye out for all the customers. Steve is a hard worker-he's always up and doing, cleaning something around the building and maintains the place like it's his home! He's been there since we acquired our units in 2012! It's always an at home experience when I come by! The place is meticulously clean and organized. It's a great facility. Steve is the best! read more

Easy decision to store my stuff here. They are friendly and were quick to assist with any issues.

This place and space is well organized, clean and safe. I been using this storage center for years. No complaints....

In the end, I'm glad I'm out and I will stay out. "Climate controlled" is a euphemism for "We keep our swamp at 80 degrees." Everything I had that made out of paper was ruined by its storage in this unit. The furniture molded and ended up in a dumpster And those great rates. Look for the 10% annual price increase no less than once per year... The mandatory insurance? The coverage looks like swiss cheese and the $1000 limit is laughable. So, yea. If you care enough about it to bother storing it, find someplace else to store it in. Otherwise, just donate it to a charity or the local dumpster. At least you will still have the storage fees in your wallet. I also have an earlier review with more factual details that Yelp is "hiding." Take a look for it if you want a more comprehensive telling of my saga... read more

Steve is the best facility manager that Extra Space Storage has. He works hard to meet your needs and keeps the Greenway Parkway facility spotless. No better place to store you items - short or long term. read more

I love this storage facility. I have used them multiple times for different storage reasons. Every time they are really helpful. I went in yesterday to get a small unit then the one I currently have and the gentleman there named Todd was very helpful in showing me the different options. There was a glitch in there system and he worked his hardest to make sure I got the price that I saw online. The gentleman that is usually there that has helped me before is Steve and he is always very helpful in getting me what I need for the time. I highly recommend this facility if you need to store anything. read more

I love Extra Space Storage for the prices that can't be beat; but what truly makes them special is the customer service. It's amazing to know individuals still take pride in their jobs! Steve is an incredible asset to the company ! Keep up the exceptional work! read more

When we sold our home we needed a place to store some of our belongings. Steve was awesome and extremely helpful in finding us the space we needed. He was always cordial and helpful. I had moved out of my apartment and decided to put my furniture in storage for a few months (March-August). When I removed my belongings and found that my sectional and ottoman had significant damage from what seems to be their cooling systems/water. One part of the sectional looked like water had dripped on it consistently for the entire time it was in storage. When I brought it to the attention of management, he advised that there was no leak and took photos of the damage. When I made a claim through renter's insurance, I was told by the adjuster that my claim would not cover it since there was no visible water in the unit. Well of course there is no sign of water because my couch soaked it all up! *update* someone said that it would be easy to get proof of the water leak - it isn't. Extra Space uses Swamp Coolers and because the water was not leaking at the time we removed our belongings, we could not pinpoint when the leaking happened and from where. And we provided several photos (before and after) and was still denied - Such a scam! read more

Extra Space Storage - Self Storage Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

A friend rented this storage unit for me initially as I was leaving the state. When it came time to switch the unit into my name, it was quite the odyssey or comedy of errors. After several calls to management, a trip to the facility by my friend to switch the unit over, followed up by a written agreement that management supplied for us both to sign, noting the change, my friend still kept getting calls and emails about payment for the unit. It took several months to get this straightened out. Communication between whoever was answering the phone and manning the desk (over a year ago) and actual input into the computer to note the change, was inaccurate and caused a lot of grief. However, it did finally get straightened out and for the past several months, it has been smooth sailing. I find the people that I am dealing with now very professional and friendly and willing to work with me. So, for current experience, I believe this is a good place to store your belongings. read more

I want to give some positive feedback about this specific Extra Space Storage at 27th and Greenway. When you look around this zip code for alternative storage spaces, this place looks the cleanest and tightest from the outside. For my short term rental, this place was perfect as I rented four different storage rooms for a month to bridge between houses. I rented 10x10 and 10x15 spaces and fit my entire 1800sq foot house in a little over 3 of them. They offer a variety of room sizes so you do not waste your money. The storage rooms are solid: clean and no smell whatsoever. The staff has a lot to do with keeping this place at a very high quality level ... highly recommended. read more

I would suggest you only use this place for max 6-7 months. Its nice to have air-conditioned units, but they raise their prices too often and it doesn't matter if you stay for a longer time. I am going to have to find a new place as this place is getting more expensive. Im curious at what point enough is enough? read more
