I moved from Extra Space Storage next door because the storage spaces are much more affordable and they are clear in their process for accounting for the fact I have my own property insurance. The facility is easily accessible and the storage unit that matches the one I left is actually bigger as the storage racks I moved fit more easily in the Public Storage unit 10x10. When I turned in the company provided locks the attendant was pleasant, helpful and efficient in helping me make updates to my account. read more

Our experience with Public Storage has been very unpleasant. When we reserved a space for a trailer we were not told of all the documentation that Public Storage is required to get from us. When we arrived at the facility to finalize the contract, it turned out we were sent to the wrong location and directed elsewhere. When we arrived at the correct location the employee on duty called for advice on renting a space for a trailer but was not told about the required documentation. She did ask us to complete a form with the registration #, model #, ie: all the required information. The following day, Sunday of a Holiday weekend, we received a rather unpleasant phone call from the property manager requesting we return right away with all the documents. We called the customer service department to request the district manager contact us. We returned a few days later to check on our storage and found the gate open from at 8pm and also after 10:30pm. (could have been all night-not sure). There was nobody in site anywhere in the facility. We called the customer service department and were told "Maybe the gate was broken". When we asked him to call the Property Manager on site or notify someone of the open gate, he was indifferent. We again asked for the district manager to contact us. We checked back later that night and still the gate was open. Still no response from the district manager. We were told this was a secure facility but there are no cameras and the gate is left open after closing and late into the night. Obviously the definition of "secure" does not mean the same thing to the folks at Public Storage. Also we were told by the PM, that this is the only facility in the area like this that has a phone with no voice mail and no call waiting. Over several days, we found that the line was busy, when you called. Customer service says that this is because the manager was on site showing customers around, but when you go on site, it's obvious that this is not the case. It's apparent that either they just leave the phone off the hook or they have lousy phone service. In general, the property is poorly maintained, and the customer service is lousy. We will be moving our storage to a better company and not renewing for a second month. read more

There was a problem with the light in the storage unit I had just rented; she was quick to address the problem, and it was fixed within a few minutes. I would have given one star, but the office staff were always kind and helpful so I have given the second star. BEWARE! I leased my unit in 2012.. The first few years were fine, however for the las few years I've lost a number of items because of burst pipes. They called me last week to inform my that my unit was subjected to water damage for the THIRD TIME! If you are using storage for items you do not wish to get wet... Stay away! I have finally scheduled my move out date... I should have done it sooner. :( read more

Like the other posts, this company does not value military members, government workers or customers who have rented for a very long time. Ceiling of units are extremely unsecure and on more than one occasion I have found foot prints on boxes or furniture in my unit where someone has crawled over the top. I didn't have any small items for them to take however it happens often. BEWARE!!!!! read more

After about a year I emptied my unit, which mostly consisted of boxes of DVDs, nothing of much value. The boxes that were on the ground floor of the unit were all water damaged and filled, I mean FILLED with maggots, it was very gross and I would not recommend a 1st floor unit thats for sure. read more

The employees who work at this Public Storage are extremely friendly and accommodating. However, the company itself is CRAP. The policy is that if you check out of the storage unit anytime after the 6th of the month, you will pay a FULL MONTH's rent, NO EXCEPTIONS. I was in Korea serving on military duty for 8 months, and I returned on the 6th of the month. When I went to clear and close out my unit on the 7th I was told that I was already charged for the entire month and that it was not possible to be refunded or prorated because it was after the 6th. I understand better than anyone that rules are rules. However, I think that this policy is ridiculous. You should only have to pay for the space when you are using the space. Their policy is unreasonable and asinine. I apparently wasn't thinking clearly when they explained this to me because if I had known I wouldn't have agreed to their terms of services. I do not recommend this company to anyone for their storage needs, nor will I ever use them again. read more

This is my second time renting storage here. The last experience was good and so far this one has been great! The 10x15 unit was priced better than competitors. It was delivered clean. Most importantly, the office manager Jenifer was exceptional. She called me within minutes of reserving online. Jenifer was personable and attentive. She was patient and took the time to walk me to the unit and fully explain everything. Like most people, I don't look forward to moving, but dare I say, Jenifer made this move enjoyable. read more

Would rather give my money to an ethical business. Says sign up and pay $1 your first month. Set-up fee is $22. Was willing to pay that, even though it's way high. Then the manager said I can't use my own padlock and I MUST purchase theirs for $18! No thanks! If this was all up front it would be less of a big deal. They try to get you hooked on the web then you show up with all your stuff to move in and they get you with a the pad lock crap. read more

What a crappy company. I wish I would have read the reviews first. The website says nothing about insurance, and nothing about having to pay for their lock. So go ahead and figure another $20 for the lock and another $11 per month towRds your storage fees. In addition, you get no clear insurance policy to read, which I believe is a violation. The manager said he could not explain the process. In addition the property looks like hell, and they first tried to rent me a unit with broken metal on the wall. It wouldn't be that tough to pull it back and climb in. If you've read all the reviews and still choose to do business here, good luck! read more
