First time using a storage facility and I had a great experience here. I stored my items for over a year, paid on time every month and never had any issues. My corner unit was perfect and my items stayed in good condition overall. For long-term storage, I'd recommend wrapping your items well and bringing a microfiber towel for dust/debris when moving out. I'm very scared of bugs, so I want to mention the only ones I ever saw were a few daddy long legs over the entire time. The facility was always clean and accessible and Mark went above and beyond trying to help me find an Allen key on move-out day. I'd definitely use this location again! read more

Unfortunately, after only three months, our price went up 50%. We signed an online price for 160 and then was raised after three months to 231. $70 increase within a month. This business seems to get you a good price and once you're situated increase. The good part I guess is that they won't raise us another five dollars to the full charge amount for another seven months, which is a joke because you've already increased it to damn near the full amount. It didn't go up five dollars and didn't go up $10. It didn't even go up 20. It went over $50 (70 increase reality) in a month of an increase The in-house staff is great, but as far as business go, this is feeling like a scam and I will be collecting my stuff at the end of the month. read more

BEWARE This place is awful They had the units painted, switched the locker numbers and sold off all our belongings without notifying us. They auctioned off a 10 by 12 locker full of antique furniture and were charging me since 2018. The prices went from $250 to over $700 and when we went to the locker there was nothing but someone else's junk there They know they were wrong as they did reimburse me for the storage fees but will not make good on what they sold off at auction. We signed up on November 1, 2023 for a 10x15 space to try to clear out our over stuffed garage. I did a ton of research on places and security and went with this place because it was less expensive than places closer to where we live at about a 10 minute drive. Six months later, I received an email saying the rate was going up 42%. I have just received another notification that on 2/1/2025, it is going up another 84% from where it started. Shame on me for not thinking of looking for places with a contract and shame on them for hiking up rates at a ridiculous rate. Plus, they lock up the carts like someone wants to steal them and you have to go into the office and give them your ID to get them to unlock them. It is a time consuming pain and they don't have very many available. Find somewhere else to store your stuff!! read more

I would not use public storage company again. The process was difficult. I made a reservation at one location, showed up and the manager closed 3 hours early and there was no way to move it. I switched to this location and it seemed like it was amazing however when I returned the staff was rude and dismissive. Seemed bothered by questions being asked. I chalked it up to having a bad day. The next time I return and had questions, same treatment. It's great if you don't have it interact with anyone. read more

So far so good! I just moved into this facility today. I'm a woman and need to move all of my storage items in by myself so I needed to as close to an elevator as possible. The staff here was so pleasant and very helpful in getting me situated and explaining everything in a detailed manner. The location is perfect geographically - right off of the 405 freeway and minutes from the airport- but the worn down RV's and homeless encampments make it feel a little sketchy when you first arrive. However, once your inside the gate... that feeling becomes a non factor. The facility is clean and there's not a lot of traffic. Sucks that access is limited to office hours as a lot of my events end well after that and I have to wait until the next day to store my equipment - but it seems that's common so no complaints. Issue #1 - If i could give a zero I would. Staff is unprofessional and rude. First issue I have is this place completely closes down when employees go to lunch. Then employees strolls back in sees us waiting outside and doesn't even acknowledge the fact that they've been gone. (Hello, thank you for waiting, come on in). We had to inch in the door and make sure it was okay seemed like we were disrupting a fabulous fast food lunch. What company of this magnitude closes doors for lunch? Meanwhile someone else too lazy to help sits in the back office locked up to avoid having to help. Issue #2- 10 minutes after signing the contract and trying to load things into the unit we discovered so much trash in the facility and in the elevator we didn't have enough space to take up our items. The rude staff complained to me that she was by herself so not sure how much cleaning she can do. Not my problem you are understaffed. Issue #3 Despite the snarky attitude of the staff, they shut the elevator down on us so we couldn't load our items upstairs. Mind you we made it inside the facility before closing and they shut the elevator down causing us to have to reload and come back next day. No one advised us of this during signing the contract. Issue #4 Two days after we last entered the unit we get a call that we were being charged for trash clean up. Are you kidding me? After walking into this dump, complaining about the trash within the first 10 minutes you then charge us for trashing the place? Why would we take the trouble of moving things into this place and dumping it at move in? I wouldn't have lifted a heavy mattress up the 2nd floor if i didnt want it. Ppl dont bring things upstairs to dump it!!! I don't need to pay public storage to dump something, its free! Issue #5 - A "Shaina" was suppose to call us regarding this issue (she's some type of area manager) she never did. Poor follow up from upper management when there's issues with this place. Issue #6 - I agree with everyone else on the elevator issue. The first day we came the elevator was broken so they expect people to use stairs instead of offering ground floor units to soften the inconvenience. They have carts you can also borrow from the office but when I asked for one I got scolded that if I borrowed I must bring it back to the office (I guess since the staff is too lazy to go get the carts on the property). Then they lock up the carts which makes it a big inconvienence to borrow one if you already inside the property. This is like saying "After you do grocery shopping it's not good enough to put the cart outside where the carts go, you need to walk it back in the store" This place is ruthless. There's other storage facilities near by, please consider before you waste time with unprofessional people. You might end up with a headache, stolen items, or even fraudulent charges like me!! read more

Stay away, it is surrounded by homeless, infested with roaches, the worse customer service and high prices, after 3+ years I got fed up and moved my stuff to Extra Storage Space in El Segundo and La Cienega for HALF THE PRICE, got a climate controlled unit, renovated, super-clean, very large Rollup doors,high ceilings, very good light, better hours (closes at 8:00PM); and really nice and responsive facility manager. My unit in Public Storage got infested with roaches and mice, I only stored household items, never food, so it did not come from my stuff. First time this happens in my life, after 30 years of self storage all over USA. Ruined books, boxes, clothes and Who knows what is waiting for me in my car or in my home after I took some boxes home last week. I had a very bad time at public storage at La Cienega and Century, the workers were always very nasty. -One day the gate was broken, it is supposed to be available since 6:00AM, a guy that works in the office got there at 8:45AM, parked his car and waited inside. I asked him, if he could open it manually or at least let me in through the little gate. He said he was not on the clock yet, and stayed in his car. There was someone else there late for a flight and needed to get in his storage unit beforehand, but the guy didn't budge either. -Then on a Sunday last March 31st, I was cleaning and repacking my stuff after I found some roaches outside the doors of my unit; went to the office around 5:30 to talk about the roaches and mice droppings , saw in the window they closed at 5:00, ran right back in, as the gate was closing, the live-in manager came out and told me I was transpassing , I tried to explain I had a unit there and I had my car parked inside, I did not realized they closed earlier in the weekend, I just needed to talk to someone in the office, she said she was off duty and I was transpassing, I thought clearly she was not listening , than , next day I even told the guy in the office that probably because I was so dirty from working in my storage, that she thought I was a homeless and was transpassing, and I even giggled a little. But she got very offended and said I was transpassing, I told her that it was a very harsh word, I'm not a criminal, sure there was a better way to deal with their customers. -They raised the rent after just a couple of months I moved my stuff in, than last month again from $385 to $430 -on top of it I started finding roaches in my unit. Then a week ago it got really bad, I found at least a dozen huge ones all alive and mice droppings. When I called the office they said it was normal and offered me a spray if I want to go and pick it up. I told them to take care of it and urgently, I was not going to pay almost $5K a year and do their job. There are no signs of any active preventive measures to deter or at least diminish any population of pests, like baits or traps around the facility, since it is such a "normal" thing there. -In a a few days I packed and left. read more

Rent will go up quickly. Five months in, my rent has gone up significantly. I've rented at other Public storage facilities and haven't had the rent increase this quickly. Be ready for this before moving all your stuff in. This is my main complaint. Also, be aware there is a large homeless encampment behind the facility. I've never had an issue with anyone in or around the storage area, but if you are about to rent a unit without visiting the facility first, just FYI. The staff I've interacted with have been friendly and I don't have any complaints there. read more

If anyone is in need of storage this place should be a last resort. They lower you in with low prices, within one year my lease space was raised twice. Went from 86.00 a month to 150.00 dollars a month. Bad management, frequent break inns, my unit was broken into as well as many others. This place has the worst customer service! There's favoritism, staff chooses who they want customers to follow the rules or not. Mark talks professional with good manners but be careful he's sneaky & lies! There are times I see homeless people sleeping on the 3rd floor. Staff cleans about once every 4months. When Mark told me I couldn't be inside organizing my stuff with door closed I called Jimmy B. (District Mgr) to file a complaint. He has the NERVE to tell me I can ONLY be there for 1hr! I usually rent storage space from EZ Storage. Been a long time customer there. I needed an emergency temporary storage space, so naturally, I went where Ive been for a long time. Welp, they told me they arent renting out storage spaces because of COVID, (which makes no sense, but whatever). They have a lot of antiquated ways of doing stuff and they dont bend Long story short, thats how i ended up findng Public Storage. I thought the other storage place was the cheapest, but NO. Public storage on LaCienega/Century is priced lower than most, esp with the online sign-up u get an even better discount! SO HAPPY! The staff is friendly, professional and Always smiling and cleaning the spot constantly. I love this place! I will take my things out of EZ Storage and bring em here! read more

I'm not really a complainer but some things should be brought to light about Public Storage. First of all let me preface this with the fact that this location is pretty clean and the staff is usually in decent spirits. Most importantly the location, right off the 405 ROCKS. That being said, the bait & switch slogan, "Your first month only costs a $1" is TOTAL BS. You have to pay some admin fee and another BS fee which takes the price well above that dollar. What are you gonna do at that point, take your UHaul full of your life's possessions and tell them to go suck an egg because they advertise a dollar for the 1st month? What a pisser. Second issue: the hours on the website say "Open till 9pm" HA! That's also BS. I went to drop some items off after work (8pm) and they were CLOSED. Oh. What? Yep, they close at 6pm Mon-Fri. Damn, guess I'll have to come back another day- what waste of my time! Gitcher (yeah I said gitcher) hours straight Public Storage. Wish I could give less than 1 star! Why so harsh? I'll tell you. This place looks like it's one broken window from being condemned. I moved my stuff into this unit a couple months ago and was broken into shortly thereafter. The storage unit employee called and left a vague message about my unit. I had to call back no less than 15 times to get a hold of someone. When I finally did get a hold of someone, they very casually told me my unit had been broken into as if it was an every day occurrence. I then asked if the police had been notified but they told me "it isn't our responsibility". When I showed up to see my unit, I stopped by the office and they reluctantly came up with me to inspect the unit. On the way there the employee let me know that several other units were broken into. She was right because there were items just strewn about (mine included) the hallways. My locking bar had been bent back and the lock chopped. The employee then just kind of walked away. As I walked about the place looking for my stolen items I came upon some feces in the stairwell along with an abandoned bicycle. I was fully expecting a trash can fire and homeless people keeping warm. If you would like to get your stuff stolen with little or no recourse by all means move your stuff here! read more

I have been using Public Storage for YEARS and I really like this location. It is conveniently located right off of the 405 for easy access and I have never had an issue with access times. We have also moved to different units (of the same size) a couple times to take advantage of a lower price that we found online. We are currently moving from two 7.5' x 10' to one 10' x 15' to consolidate and save money. Alex helped us look at our options and find the best fit for our needs! He was great and was very patient with all of our questions. We saw how they walk the perimeter often and put locks on any unattended units for safety. I feel confident that my unit is secure and my stuff is safe. read more

First, let me say I do like Public Storage. I called this location because I had a policy question after seeing a unit I liked online. I spoke with a gentleman named Kevin who was able to answer those questions. However, once I made it clear that I was reserving online (the online deals are way better) he aggressively told me most units would not be available and that the one I wanted was unavailable. He then tried to price me for a smaller, more expensive unit. When I said I would go online later before making any decisions, he then wanted me have me check the unit he told me was absolutely taken with him on the phone... I called a different location and got the unit that was larger and a better deal in a matter of minutes with the Public Storage on Rosecrans. The manager was sweet and let me know that the units in their facility reflecting on line had no issues. I tend to steer from writing negative reviews, however, if a store lies or misleads its customers for a "sell", I think people have a right to know what they are getting into. read more

If I could give this place a 0 , I would, and would have given Kirsten a nice tongue lashing.(she's the location manager) ISSUE : I reserved online in the evening on 07/11/18, after hours of course but by the time I reported to work for my shift at the hospital 07/12/18 the next day!, Kirsten had called leaving me a nice vcmail to introduce herself and welcome me, blah blah blah.BUT Before noon, in addition , she called again leaving unprofessional , non customer service focused ,message saying she would cancel my reservation if I did not call her back,hmmmm WE ARE NOT DATING YOU NUT! I DONT HAVE TO CALL YOU BACK ASAP, ESPECIALLY FROM WORKING THE ER.... mind you, I had a reservation/confirmation number given to me,but then like a female stalker, she again for the 3rd time and then sent an email saying I was cancelled.MIND YOU I WAS AT WORK!!!!!, She acted like a stalker that was being ignored by her Boyfriend. Lady every customer will not be on public assistance, some of us will be at work! like myself and would need time to return a call plus the website says nothing about you must call to confirm AGAIN after getting a confirmation number, but this place has allot of transients and bums and dirty when I tried to go by and visit the manager Kirsten "Personally"...........to talk about her nice tactics & great customer service, uh NOT! I wanted to see if she was that rude in person as she was on the phone, so I could put her back in her low salary place! They could have at least allowed 24 hrs, for a call back, but to try to enforce a policy they don't have is crazy. .DO NOT RENT HERE AT THIS LOCATION. I wrote a 5 star review my first day here. That was a mistake. One of the staff members I interacted with was excellent. My review for Kanisha still stands - she gets 5 stars but she doesn't have her own Yelp page so I can't leave that for her. But seriously girl your skills are phenomenal, why you're wasting them at Public Storage I don't know. The rest of this place is bull****. I fell behind on my rent and they cut off my lock, charged me $103 in late fees, and didn't return my phone calls when I called earlier in the month to inquire about my unit and how to fix my situation. They did call me a couple of times and left messages, but when I called back I got nothing. I realize my inability to pay my rent on time one month was my own mistake, but it seems totally unreasonable to charge me basically an extra months rent in late fees...rent was $113 a month and I was charged $103. That is total BS and obviously doesn't help anyone in a similar or especially worse situation than mine. Luckily I was able to pay everything and move out today. But seriously I promise never to rent from Public Storage again, and I'll make sure everyone I know knows to stay away. This is really disappointing and has put me in a worse situation for next month, when I thought I had just gotten my head above water by coming up with my storage rent. At least I've moved out of my car and don't need this crappy place anyway. read more

I came back and my unit was stolen . My TV and My coffee Maker. Public storage doesn't have a camera to indecent the theft. They just don't care about you as a customer. It was never explained that even though you submit a email address that you're email address isn't "recognized" in public storage system. It was also never explained to me that when told by the representative the bill is due at the BEGINNING OF each month. I was under the impression it was AT THE END OF EACH MONTH. In no way is that to reflect on the rep. we shared many many hilarious laughs during my sign up process. When phoned I did phone back as well as left a voicemail message that my bill wasn't due till next month. I NEVER RECEIVED A RETURN call back stating otherwise. I even phoned back the next day asking what the call was in regards too AND STILL no confirmation. When I went in for an explanation I did receive EXCELLENT customer service. When went to pay I was told my email address wasn't recognized. I google what does that mean when public storage log on says that SINCE THERE WASN'T AN EXPLANATION question mark that indicated its meaning. I received an additional late fee within a few HOURS-late fee AFTER the 11th! but i tried @ 11:40pm SERIOUSLY! When I got off work I phoned back THIS ALSO WITHIN HOURS........the call didn't start very "fair" BUT it did end in good customer service. THANK YOU JAVIER. I never phoned Shaina.
