Customer service is VERY important and probably the sole reason I even came to write this review and give it four stars. Ashley, the rep that was working when I came to pick up the keys for my unit was super busy, it being the last weekend of the month but she managed to remain professional and get me all set up as quickly as possible. She remained calm although the amount of people in and out was even overwhelming to me.. she also remained upbeat and I appreciate her energy, especially on a moving day in the summer which can have you irritable and drained. My son and I had rented a unit at this location for over 2 years and never missed a payment. When we vacated the unit at the end of the year and he tried to notify them on dec 31st and again on Jan 1st that the unit was empty no one was onsite. He went back on the 2nd did the inspection and was told there should be no problem he shouldn't be billed for January this year. He found out later they not only billed for Jan but they turned it over to collection. When he went back in to see why, they told him because he used his pin on the 1st that is why they charged for the entire month. He paid it reluctantly. If anything they should have charged for one day not 31!! I would not recommend their storage facility. read more

-No access to trash cans. How can you have a storage unit and not have a trash cans. The dumpsters outside are locked and have signs it's private property and you aren't allowed to put stuff in that dumpster. Which is ridiculous. I moved all of my stuff out on June 1st, and yet they charged me for the entire month of June. I emailed someone about getting the charges removed but no one answered and there was NEVER anyone at the front desk. -Also you aren't allowed to stay at the storage unit after 5 pm! Some of us have a job and can't get there till later. They also lock the elevators after 5 so if you just loaded up your stuff and try to use the elevator you can't!!! When I tried to leave the app would NOT open the gate, so i had to manually enter the code. -I get an email saying that i'm not allowed to be in the facility after 5 and if i do it again I'll be locked out? Excuse me? How absolutely absurd. I hope this place gets shut down read more

ATROCIOUS AND SINFUL OVER-INFLATION!!! I started using and renting a 5' x 10' unit 4 years ago in 2020 for $62 (+ $15 for insurance [required]). EVERY YEAR THEY INCREASED THE PRICE OF RENT! It's now $130, + $15 for insurance. Yes you saw right... over double now in 2024. I'm moving out now. I've had enough. Be wary to rent and move your belongings into any unit at Public Storage if it's less than a year. You've been warned. read more

Didn't even end up renting a unit from them. I was contacted 2 days before I moved in to be informed that the reservation price I reserved was not possible any more because I "made my reservation too far in advance". they did tell me they would honor the price for after the first month, but instead of paying the $1 for the first month, like the website states, id have to pay the current price for the unit, which was almost double! My favorite part of this entire thing? It states clearly in their terms and conditions that you must make a reservation to guarantee the rate. Needless to say we took our business to extra space which is right around the corner. Much happier there read more

I thought this storage is safe and even gave a good review. After a month I got a phone call notifying me that there was a suspicious activity and requested us to check on our unit. I'm very pissed and disappointed that management can't even afford to put a camera on each floor. The manager even said we have cameras at the gate and by the elevator. Which is also useless because they can see who is coming in and out of the facility but no idea at all what's happening up there. I do not recommend this facility. read more

The entire process for signing up for a storage space, move in day, and ease of entry and exit of the storage facility was seamless and fast! We had to meet at the front desk briefly for a few minutes and the employee was friendly and professional. The building was sparkling clean and I was very impressed with the layout of units. We drove in with security codes provided easily with no problems. Carts were available right by the elevator with a map to find our unit. I personally liked this property, and I more importantly appreciated and liked the staff. I can't remember the young lady's name that helped me, but she was great. She let me "test fit" my motorcycle in a unit before I signed the paperwork to rent. Unfortunately, my motorcycle didn't fit in the unit for $20/mo (5ft x 5ft unit). I asked the young lady that was helping me to show me the next size up (5ft x 7.5ft). Despite the fact that I took the unit, I was disappointed with the pricing of the second unit. The price goes from $20/mo to $45/mo (or within a couple of dollars of that). I think an extra $20-$25 a month for a measly 12.5 square feet is a little excessive. All in all, the young lady that helped me was awesome, but the pricing was a little iffy and that didn't make me too happy. read more

Been using your location for many years with multiple units all different sizes. I've always had 24 hour access to the location. With being a loyal customer and multiple times this timing being removed without notice and other nonsense it's pissing me off that I have to sit out here and wait normal hours to get in when I have a truck on a limited rental slot. If I get overcharged upon return I will hold you guys responsible to reimburse. read more

This storage facility use to be great not so much now. You get access to the main gate and still have to access the other gate to drive a car in. Then have to access the elevator going up to your floor. It's only 3 levels makes no sense to be constantly putting in stupid codes when you came through the gate. They have a camera and you still can go to any floor with your code. The elevator is the kicker you have a lot of stuff moving in or out and constantly putting in a stupid code so glad to be out of this storage. Oh and not let us forget the bathroom they are all locked now so I advise anyone not to drink water or you will pee on yourself. Bathrooms are for employees when they use to not be like that. But can go up on your storage fee every few months these outrageous prices so suck service. Never again will I just that one in Glendale Heights, IL just bad service all around! Kinda sucks that you can't access your unit 24/7 and after a certain time (when office is closed) you have to get out of your vehicle to open the door for the loading dock? But yet I can open the gate with my phone.. I've only been to my unit 3 times (twice with my fiancé) and it's such a maze that I get lost. They are double the price then other places but the issue is I needed a unit close to home. I was charged yet again 10 days after I rented my unit because it was the first of the month... there isn't much of a walk way which wasn't an issue until my first day moving stuff in and another renter gave me attitude because she was going through her Christmas stuff and blocking the hallway. I also don't understand why you need to type in your access code for everything, I can't remember that long of a number to access the elevator. Also they told me how much I was gonna be paying a month and out of nowhere I'm paying like an extra $30.. like I get the insurance is $15 but I shouldn't be spending over $100 for the smallest unit they have... read more

Avoid this location. I was referred by my boyfriend because he has a unit here so we wanted to get a bigger unit and move his stuff into mine. I have never had a storage unit so I should've gotten the $1 rate. Instead the property manager Jan said that because I am am emergency contact for my boyfriend, I can't get the new rate. I thought that was weird but I needed the space so I signed for it. Later in the day my boyfriend got an email saying his unit was closed. He didn't close it. He called and was told that he didn't have a lock so they closed it. He forgot to put the lock on, so that's fine.He asked why I wasn't given the new rate and was told that the address was the same so they can't honor the new customer price. If that's the case, why lie? He asked for the admin fee to berefunded and he was refused. He asked for a pro-rated refund on his account and was refused. This is ridiculous. They are charging us twice. I will be movingout immediately and warning future customers to stay away. read more

I've had many negative experiences here so far. I've been renting a unit for more than a year. BEWARE: this location will spontaneously change their hours of accessibility so that you cannot get into your unit when you thought you could. Details: I had loaded a truck full of furniture and driven 45 minutes to find they had closed 4 hours early for the day. It was 30ish degrees, 2 inches of snow on ground. fairly standard conditions for chicago in january. I find there is a piece of paper taped on the 1 of the doors that says "Due to extreme weather, we will be open ... for the week of ...." it described a schedule that was 50% of normal hours, which are already not even long enough. SERIOUSLY? I can manage my account in every way possible online but you can't email me a simple warning that the hours will be changing? The manager, who I had noted to be highly cynical in the past, was condescending with me from the start, basically said 'too bad'. I asked to speak with his higher up. I left the regional manager a voicemail saying that I was extremely disturbed by the business practice at this location. never got a call back. I will say that in the past, the workers (excluding the manager) were very considerate and friendly. read more

Zero stars, only been renting here for a few months but unfortunately I will have to look to rent elsewhere. Let me start by saying, you have our email so if your going to be keeping paying customers locked out of the building during hours in which you are to be open then common courtesy would be to alert us, via text, or email. I arrived at 8:00 a.m. only to find a huge sign taped to the doors that entry would not permitted due to the weather. The weather, seriously? Why not? There is no excuse for this. The doors aren't capable of opening at 8:00 a.m. but they open at 9:30? Give me a break. Worse customer service here as well. Two employees, standing outside in front of the office door just smoking away. No one wanting to step away from the door so that I could get into the office, just blow your nasty smoke in my face. So in order for me to get a cart I have to wait for your unprofessional employees to both finish smoking? By the way there are Illinois State Laws which prohibit your employees from smoking in front of the door! Shame shame shame read more

I understand this is a newer facility. The people that work there are great! Adriana helped me finish the process of renting a unit there. She covered everything... left nothing to question. Based on my storage needs, she was able to offer me in-store products that were relevant to my storage needs. Both associates there are easy going and make process comfortable and understandable. Laura helped my mom look at a few storage units over the weekend. She took the time to listen to my mom's concerns and helped find the right sized storage unit for the amount and type of items she was storing. Laura answered all my mom's questions and was very attentive and informative the entire time we were there. The facility is well kept, very clean, well lit and safe. There are other storage facilities nearby but no one compares to Public Storage when it comes to price, quality, and the friendliness of their staff. Keep up the good work Laura! read more

Rates were raised 35% in two years. Considering the inflation rate is 1%, this is unethical. You will pay more for the storage than your belongings are worth long term. And if you try to register a complaint, emailed requests are not answered and the local facility punts to the California headquarters, where their automated menu never allows you to speak directly with customer service. Instead you are punted back to the local facility. Attempts to strike up a dialog with anyone administrative are all futile. "Customer service" is apparently a foreign phrase that doesn't translate for them. If you use them, get in and out fast. read more
