Been renting here for a year now and about to finally move out. I've got to say in the time I've rented here my experience has been great. Vicki is very accommodating, friendly and keeps the place just as you would hope. She's very hands on and helpful to all of her tenants. It makes you feel very good about leaving high priced valuables some where. The location is a great location as well and is in quite a safe area. ***To all the 5-star reviewers...REALLY?*** ***IMPORTANT FACTS. Yeah, I know, You see the one star, you assume I'm going to immediately whine about the price in a few grammatically questionable sentences devoid of punctuation. I'm going to supply some information I wish I'd gotten before renting my unit. There's a helpful hint included at the end of this review if you can persevere. ***The outside units are subject to duststorm chaos. I should have been warned about this when I moved my stuff in. I wasn't warned, so I didn't adequately prepare. The upshot is that after four months, my stored belongings were blanketed in an inch of orange, sticky desert dirt. The winds were intense enough that my stuff looked like it had shifted during flight. Things were broken. Cleaning the stuff was a massive, costly undertaking. The dirt permeated untaped box edges, and as it turns out, an inch of caked dirt can really do a job on a vacuum. To address the next question...no, unfortunately the compulsory insurance I kept on the unit did not cover claims for damage done by crosswinds. ***Pricing is ... misleading. Think bait-and-switch. Believe NO quotes you get over the phone. ***Rent goes up often. I began renting my 10 x 7 unit for $67/mo. Five years later my rent was up to $178/month. That's like renting an apartment now for $1,600 and watching the rent ramp up to $4,250 in six years. Ridiculous! But if you call Corporate and ask for a break, they'll tell you the rent is competitive and "what the market will bear," and within a month or two your rent will go up again. I am no longer a customer at this Public Storage. I had the unit emptied and liquidated by a nearby auction house. The final straw was when I was at the unit and the manager showed potential customers an empty unit next to mine. She said the rent was $98, and I just about blew my top since I'd gotten word that my rent was going up again to $178. I made an inquiry, and the manager mistakenly informed me that the unit next to mine on the other side was $30 less than mine per month. The manager offered to ask for a rent reduction on my behalf, and I accepted, but I was out of the unit on January 3rd. Of course Public Storage WILL NOT PRORATE rent, so they have already invoiced me for an additional month of rent. I was at the facility on the night of the second and saw (and photographed) three empty units, so I'm going to try and fight the bill though I imagine it's just going to be another item on my credit report. ***HELPFUL HINT FOR STORAGE UNIT RENTERS I was unaware of this little nugget previously and I thought it might be helpful to share. If you are renting a unit, you fall behind on payments, a lien is placed on your belongings, and the facility auctions off the contents, any money from the sale of your belongings above and beyond what you owe the facility is YOURS. Most people don't know to ask for that money back. ***IN SUM All in all, if I could assess a negative number of stars for my experience with Public Storage, I would. I ended up paying more than $11,000 to keep belongings I ended up selling for a fraction of their value. I was treated poorly, spoken to like I was an idiot, ignored, and dealt with as the financially vulnerable always are-- without any compassion. Need to store your stuff? You're better off paying a friend to rent his basement. Or paying a stranger to rent his closet. Storage is a shady, bottom-feeding industry. This West Bell Road Public Storage facility could be its poster child. read more

My first experience renting a storage unit was today. Originally I made an appointment for 11AM but I finished everything so I was able to come in at 930 hoping that they wouldn't be too busy I stopped by and Derick helped me right away!! I was so happy. I was able to find everything I needed right then and there and didn't have to go anywhere else. He showed me the unit and explained how to use the lock and explained the need for the supplies that they sold at the store. He was so helpful. It was nice and warm inside which is great because it was so cold outside. He offered the insurance to me which was great because like I said it was my first time doing this and everything was at my fingertips. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Best experience I will gladly rent from them again if I need to. Thank you for all of your help and support Derick!!! Very professional as well. read more

DON'T TRUST ANYTHING THE FRONT DESK SAYS. I am vacating the storage facility. This is the worst experience I have ever had. Upon opening the representative tried to charge me above the $1 dollar stated rate, after arguing with the man at the front desk we got that rectified, I called to give 3 day notice that I was moving out and that was never recorded. No we have a moving company coming to pick up our goods to move across the country and the rep won't let them on the property, even though we asked them explicitly!! If that was available. May 2021 - This is a CORPORATE REVIEW - not on this facility. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. When we rented our unit, no one explained that the contract was month to month and rates could be increased. I know I am responsible to read the fine print, but under stressful conditions - that was missed. Public Storage just increased our rent by almost $54 a month - over 31% increase from $173 to $226. - OVER $600 a year. And this is being done during COVID. Does this company have any integrity? We called the District Manager three times and had to leave messages. He never called back. We called the Customer Service number again and finally got a human. She gave us the Regional Manager. She said they have the right to increase because of the month to month and that it was a reasonable increase due to demand. Miranda was very rude to me when I tried to express my frustration at the rate of increase, speaking over me and calling me rude. She does not know how to handle upset customers and only made the situation worse. I can understand why she works at such a horrible company. I can only strongly urge people to stay away. My recent experience in renting a unit at this location was great!! Erika, the professional who assisted me was incredibly helpful in helping me decide on the correct unit for my needs, without being pushy. She answered all my questions, was very friendly, and did everything with a smile. A couple of days after renting my unit, I received a follow-up phone call from the property manager, just inquiring as to my experience. I was really impressed with the follow-through exhibited by the staff. I would HIGHLY recommend renting at this location, as the staff cannot be beat, the location is always clean, safe, and secure. Have been dealing with this location for years on and off. Deal with Deborah and she is great. This is why we continue to use this location. ***Updated review. A few years later and have had nothing but problems. Transferred our items to another company. When dealing with local locations (not just this one) and address challenges with upper management their is never a resolution other then their way or the highway!~ We stay away whenever possible and will recommend alternative's to Public Storage. read more

The facility was very clean and organized. We were actually given a tour by the manager to help determine our needs. They followed up after we made our reservation, and I was personally contacted by the manager to make sure everything was ready. On move in - check in process was pretty simple, the place appears to be secure, and that had available a cart which turned out to be very helpful. read more

Fill-in manager Don saved my bacon HUGE as I spent 3 hours the day after my storage move looking for my keys. Apparently, I was exhausted. Figuring I dropped them at PS, I drove over and as I did, he was tracking me down on my cell to let me know he had them. And when I found Don on the property, he was again, checking and patrolling the units' locks. read more

By far the worst storage location I have dealt with in the last ten years. Convenient location for storing work items for an account, but the poor communication by staff (Shannon) both email and verbally frustrated me that I moved account and storage items to a less convenient location which was farther away from account. Did I save money switching?, Absolutely not, if you consider time and effort to move items, sign a new contract, drive further from account, etc. Customer beware if you sign up at this location. Storage fees jumped on anniversary date 25% and I was told "because it's in your contract". Staff are rarely in their work areas, leaving a note when they will return on the door. No big deal if you have hours to waste for a company who does not appreciate the customer's time. Posted business hours are when the business should be open. I was told that "you know we are allowed to take a 30 minute lunch", but when my schedule is short and the manager returns and and hour and half after her "posted" return time, not good. 4 times in 45 days had to call customer service to text or email the manager on duty to return to their office, in the mean time I and other customers wait outside for the manager to return and open the door. Public Storage needs to change their name to Public Waste of Time!, which is how I will refer to them from now on anytime I am asked who I use for business storage. read more

My daughter and I have used this facility three different times. No problems with the location or the personnel there. My only reservation is that on none of the occassions were told that once we terminated our use of the storage area would the account be pro-rated; unless it was after the 7th of the current month. Then, no money back. I found that out yesterday when I stopped using the facility. I paid for 4 weeks, used it only two. Great for Pubic Storage's corporate bottom line; not so much for mine. Perhaps employees could/should make that policy absolutely clear when a client first rents storage space. Kinda felt I got nicked $ yesterday. read more

I bought a unit here not too long ago, the manager Vicki was absolutely amazing. She was very knowledgeable and helped me every time I needed anything. The property was spotless and I never had any issues. Vicki helped us choose the perfect unit and everything went wonderful I will recommend anyone who needs a storage to this public storage not only because everything was a breeze and very easy but also because Vicki was amazing. Have a unit at this storage facility. Had a friend we helped move and took him to this location for storage. Put my information as they did not have a computer so he could change when he got there. Old guy in there was a real donkeys butt. Stated we had a unit under our phone number and would not give our friend the monthly special or change the information for the unit because it was reserved on line. Went to Storquest and they were more then willing to help. This location has really gone down hill. Old guy needs to find some happy, He's a real grump. Raised our rent and when we question the rent we were told they all went up and is based on real-estate and other storage facilities in area. It would appear when they are getting full they raise rent on all. I was told by another location They fired previous Manager Vickie. What a shame. read more

Public Storage has provided false advertising information. Their discounted prices that are advertised do not reflect the mandatory additional Charges. Supposedly $1 first month.....ha ha ha! What isn't mentioned: $20+ processing fee, $11 mandatory insurance and required monthly regardless of whether you need or want it, $18 mandatory lock of their choice which is only available through them (No alternatives)....Total to get in: $50+. Do NOT use PUBLIC STORAGE!!!!!!! You will always have hidden and additional charges/fees. read more

I used to think this was a great place to store my things during what was supposed to be a temporary move. I have never had any issues and Vicki was a great help. Much to my disbelief I found out that she was not working there anymore. I do not know details of course but I hear that it was because she did not meet the set quota. Well, one of my favorite mottos is quality over quantity. I guess unfortunately that does not line the pockets enough. I am just sad to see her go. She actually made me feel like my things would be safe, she was helpful and patient and even comforted me in a terrible time of distress!
