I needed to get my household goods out of their storage quickly to stop the situation from getting worse. Just-In Time Moving was gracious enough to fit me into their schedule last minute. Their office was communicative, their estimate was thorough and clear, and the final bill matched what they estimated. The crew showed up on time, communicated throughout the day, and was professional, careful, and kind. This was not a simple move. They had to unload my furniture and belongings from storage crates, unwrap items that had been wrapped by the prior mover, take care with everything, rewrap my furniture, load it, transport it, and unload it into my new storage unit. They completed the entire job in 7.5 hours. By comparison, the prior mover had tried to bill me 16.5 hours for the move into storage alone. Just-In Time Moving did a fantastic job, and I am extremely grateful they were willing to help me on short notice. After the experience I had before them, their professionalism, clear communication, and honest billing meant everything. He stated they subcontract other movers to do jobs if they're busy so he couldn't hold them responsible and the best he could do was verbally reprimand them. When asked how they would fix/replace the damaged furniture he said they have a "furniture repair girl" who can "work wonders" but I still haven't been contacted and at this point I don't even care about the damage, it's about the principle. Our concern is not the wrapping itself, but the lack of transparency about the quantity and total material cost. A $20-per-pad price does not clearly communicate that approximately 60 pads may be used. A charge of this size should have been disclosed and approved in advance, rather than presented afterward as an unexpected surcharge. We asked Moving Team Six to review the charge and consider an adjustment, but did not receive the adjustment requested. Before hiring a moving company, get the expected material quantities, per-unit prices, total estimated costs, and approval process for additional charges in writing.
