In this day and age, when everything could go wrong, it was a pleasant surprise that nothing went wrong at this place! It was a smooth, stress-free experience. I was looking for a ground-level. climate-controlled unit that I could get in and out easily. They found a unit not far from the main entrance at an affordable price. The moment you walked in, the light came on. The pass code always worked until I moved out. They charged the same as stated verbally (and in the contract). No fine print that you would need to read to avoid hidden charges. read more

This Public Storage location is graced by having the manager Neadea. She is extremely knowledgeable, helpful and a problem solver. An issue that could have been a mess was solved eloquently by Neadea. She made the entire experience positive. Naedea is an absolute asset to the company and this location. I like the location. However, in the length of time that we have had this storage unit, it has gone up significantly. There is an on average increase of $50 every 6 months. I had one time in which they did not increase the rate. But now that 8 months has passed, I am getting another $50 increase. My initial rate was $99 (special) and then $129. I am now at $309 if I keep the unit. Very frustrating. read more

Avoid! Unethical business practice. They advertise a lower price in order to obtain your business. Once you've moved your items, they double the contract price within a few months. Their response is that their contract states that they can change the price at notice. The process of moving items into storage is already costly and time consuming. This predatory practice only adds more stress and unnecessary costs. read more

Big airy and clean facility in Falls Church 1. Very nice, professional staff. Unfortunately it appeared they were responsible for unclogging the toilet and cleaning restrooms, which were dirty and locked. 2. They have to skip lunch hour or lock up the office. Several clients hanging around outside because they close for an hour in the middle of the day which is not stated on website. They do hang around to help sometime and their break is interrupted. For these reasons, unfortunately, I feel they are being exploited and being unfairly treated in this huge facility that appears to make good money. 3. No lighting in my unit, and I assume in others. Other facilities of PS and other companies have lighting. read more

Facility is fine, security is standard but lax. The real issue is it's an untrustworthy business model. They more than double the price of monthly storage from your initial rate, while continuing to advertise lower rates to bring in more unsuspecting customers. This is their business model and it's really not worth the hassle unless you absolutely have no other choice than to rent a storage unit. I'd look into other companies first before considering public storage, im sure this is a common practice in the industry but I'm sure there could be better options in the market. Great prices. Clean. Accessible. Nice office staff. Two minor flaws compared to other storage places in the area - you have to get a key to the bathroom. So if you are there after office hours there is no place to pee. And there are only 2 flatbed carts. They are often in use. So bring your own hand-truck if you have heavier items. read more

Good prices, very clean. The climate control is similar to what would be in a house, so my wood furniture won't crack in the cold. The customer service is good, and the front desk is friendly. Masks are enforced, which is a plus for me. read more

Rented for a year here at a rate just over $200 per month. The next year, they raised the rent over 10% to just over $230. So I check their website online and they are offering units of the same size and location in the facility at a rate of $144 per month. I call up their customer service line and they only offer to reduce the rate to just under $210 citing their policy of only offering those rates to NEW customers. The also mumbled something about "market rate" without understanding that market rate is set on their website for $144/mo. Bear in mind that I've only rented there for a single year. As it appears, PS has a business policy of raising rents every year hoping to take advantage of the inertia of a cluttered garage space will prevent people from switching locations. Quite devious IMHO. As it stands, my only advice to you would be to understand that if you rent from this organization, your rent will increase by over 10% EVERY YEAR, your rent will NEVER go down to meet what they are renting to NEW customers, and you'll be rebuffed by their customer service if you point out this disconnect to them. I rented a unit and the next day I realized I needed a larger size. In order to upgrade I had to repay deposits, lose my initial deposit and they would not honor the online price (only in-store) which was $22 more per month. Prior to renting they confirmed I could easily move to a different size if needed. Obviously I was misguided. Lastly I shared all the contents (ie bed, couch, number of boxes, etc) and they never offered an expert opinion indicating the size I initially selected is too small. I do not recommend using Public Storage. Only plus is Scott. He's very friendly and helpful. read more

Totally bate you in then rob you blind. Please note, this is not a knock on the employees that I encountered, they were friendly and I thought it was going to be a fine experience. Then corporate did their thing. 1st month was cheap & prorated. Then 2 months later, the fee gets jacked up 18.9%. Seriously? Cost of living on the average is 3% a year. Needless to say, I was not going to pay that longer then I had to so I pulled my stuff out when I could. Didn't know you had to physically go to the office once vacated and I couldn't make it until the 3rd of the month (a Monday). Lo and behold, snuck in the agreement is a No Pr-oration disclaimer. This was not pointed out in the initial signing of the agreement and they expect a full months payment for 2 days. In a normal tone I stated that it was pure insanity and asked who do I speak to about it. They thanked me for being civil and calm because others have yelled and cursed at them over the same situation. They then gave me the customer service number. They stated that they disliked the policy because it makes their job harder dealing with irate customers. They also stated that CS won't care though since this was a corporate policy. And they were right, corporate spit out the same line of BS. So my advice is to stay clear of Public Storage in general. Go and support a small local establishment instead since they will actually value your business. Public Storage is just out to lure you in, wait until you pack the unit up then spike up the rent in hopes that you are too tired/lazy to move out and just pay the charge. If you want to pull out, do so early or else you will be stuck with an addition you may not be ready for ;-). Also remember that this is corporate puling the BS, not your local reps, so don't take it out on them. Make your voice heard to corporate. I actually am beginning the process to fill out a Class Action Complaint form and try to hit them where it hurts, their pocket. I'm sure there are a boat load of people who have been stung by their deceptive billing to possibly make the Class Action Lawsuit move forward. read more

When I booked, the property manager/associate (JP) was great and promised me that the rate was locked; when I called about this rate-increase issue today, it was a completely different experience. This Public Storage facility is the best in Northern Virginia. I have moved many times for my job and this by far the cleanest and most professional Public Storage property that I have seen. The customer service by professionals like Scott and Shane. I first met Scott awhile back and he was very knowledgable and quick witted. Oh yes, he has a great sense of humor to. It was easy to check in. The young man at the office answered our questions and was very accommodating.

I have been using this facility since January, and it has been a horrible experience!! I left stuff outside due to an emergency and came back and everything was stolen! When I told the staff, to say they didn't care would be an understatement! I was misled in believing there are cameras inside but it turns out there are none! I was now told there was only one camera and that is outside the main entrance. Also, the lights inside go off incredibly fast, usually within 15 minutes, so I have literally gotten stuck in the storage bin with absolutely no light at all! It was terrible! I now have to set a timer for 15 minutes before I go into the storage bin. Then there have been the times when the gate didn't work so the hours we could go in were very limited. But now, worst of all!, I went in to pay a bill because I wanted to change my credit card information and my bill went up $66 a month! I never even was told! That is crazy to have a bill go up $66 in six months!! I was told they can and often do raise their rent every six months. I've had stored bins before for years and never once had my rent raised! I am definitely looking for a new place. I highly recommend that you think twice before using this storage facility or any other Public Storage facility in the area. read more

I rented one unit and realized I needed more space. I looked online for the price to a larger unit. However, I wasn't eligible since I already had a unit. I was told I needed to pay the "walk in" price, not the on-line price. If I moved everything out for seven days, then I could get a discounted price. This made no sense to me. The online price was less expensive than the walk-in price. They had a customer willing to pay the online price but they wouldn't (or couldn't) give it to me unless I moved out for 7 days. I moved everything out and went to Cubesmart. The people were fine. it wasn't the individual person's fault, it was the corporate policy that made no sense. read more

I rented the smallest unit they had and it was more than enough for me. The price was also great. I was very surprised at the amount of storage units they had at this location. Having two elevators and many push carts to move items is a great bonus also. The staff was very helpful during the registration process. Avoid this place!! I reserved a unit online. When I arrived to "move in", I found Thomas to be very rude, condescending, and dishonest. While I tried to read the rental contract, he kept telling me that my 20-minute hold on the unit was about the run out. When I told him that I'd like to read the contract, he continued talking. He also told me that I was required to buy their insurance but he could provide no proof of that. I was clearly being scammed and left. There are so many other storage facilities in the surrounding blocks, please do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. read more
