It has been over 40 minutes of trying to access the store, and now the movers are waiting (and I'm paying them by the hour). I had to send the movers to a different drop off point so that I didn't have to pay them to wait for someone at CubeSmart to show up. This made an already stressful move even more stressful.

The manager, Bob, was always friendly and responsive to emails (like when I needed to update payment info) and gave plenty of notice for rate increases. In five years, it went up from $88 to $99/month not including insurance, which you don't need to purchase if it's covered on your existing insurance. The rentals are month to month. Overall, I highly recommend this location if you're looking for a more affordable option in a convenient location. It's right by 495, Lee Highway, and Route 50 so it's an easy drive from almost anywhere.

As her pile of absolutely necessary belongings grew, so did my concern that everything might not fit in the back of my SUV. As a backup plan, I went online and reserved a 9' U-Haul cargo van. Eventually, she pared things down to a manageable level, and I realized we wouldn't need the van after all. That's when I made the mistake of thinking canceling the reservation would be as easy as making it. Instead, I began an hour-long journey down the rabbit hole of U-Haul customer abuse--or, as I'm sure they call it, "customer service." I clicked the "Manage My Reservation" link in the original confirmation email. Before I could do anything, U-Haul needed to send me a verification code. I entered my phone number and waited. Nothing. I tried again, this time using my email, and waited some more. Nothing. So I called the local U-Haul office. When someone finally answered, they asked if I wouldn't mind holding and put me on hold before I had a chance to respond. Every 10 minutes or so, they'd come back on the line, ask again if I wouldn't mind holding, and--without waiting for an answer--put me right back on hold. This went on for more than half an hour. All the while, a recording repeatedly assured me how important I was to U-Haul as a customer. Eventually, one of the verification codes I'd requested more than 30 minutes earlier finally showed up, allowing me to cancel the reservation online. I hung up without ever actually getting help from the person who'd been keeping me on hold. U-Haul is probably the best-known name in truck rentals and, for a lot of people, the first place that comes to mind when they need to haul something. It certainly was for me. Not anymore. The next time I need a truck or cargo van, I'll make a point of looking elsewhere.

This has just been a flat out traumatic experience and we're now forced to start from scratch with everything being ruined just before we move into a townhouse. My project was immediately responded to and they were able to help me move two weeks later on their soonest available date. The three movers, Pat, Renaldo, and Kevin were incredible. Communication leading up to the move and theday of was great. They were able to move all my large furniture within 2 hours. Everything was wrapped carefully and efficiently. They were kind and thoughtful, helping me make adjustments to the furniture layout once we got to the destination. Their positivity through one of the hardest situations I've ever gone through was much-needed and made me feel confident in entering this next chapter. I even had a last minute change to the destination (originally everything was going into storage but I ended up finding an apartment just in time), and the professionalism and patience from the entire Bookstore team through this change was excellent. We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

They took original, painted artwork and put it in a box with other framed pictures and metal pictures without protective wrapping. Despite telling them that I had items in two storage units as well as a single-family home, they failed to adequately staff my move, resulting in time wasted at the storage facility for another truck to show up and insufficient personnel to unload the trucks at my new location. The whole move lasted well into the night because they hadn't adequately resourced my move. Regarding the damage to my furniture, I was told I would be reimbursed a certain amount, and I agreed. It was a fair offer. Then I got another written offer that was significantly below what was originally offered to me. The amount that was supposed to be reimbursed to me? Never received. As I unpack more boxes, I'm finding more damage and shoddy packing. I can no longer recommend this company.
