Has a memory like you wouldn't believe regarding locations of moving from and to .. assembling difficult entertainment centers etc.! He really managed the crew and identified early that we needed additional help and another truck. He was able to get his brother to help and acquire another large truck so that we were able to stay on schedule. The entire move was incredible. The movers wrapped everything incredibly well including many large paintings etc. they didn't damage the house we left or the house we moved to or even 1 piece of our furniture! It was very hard to believe actually with the volume and size/weight of many of the items. They were prompt with both moves and showed up at 8am both mornings even after getting to sleep at 3am the night in between moves. Can't thank them enough! Extremely impressed and highly recommend!! They showed up on time, brought all their own packaging equipment which is huge, and were efficient in the move. I was charged a bit more than I was expecting from the quote, so that is why it's only 4 stars. But comparatively, it is much cheaper than a majority of the other movers in the DMV. My couch wouldn't fit up the stairs to my place and they were willing to hold the couch at their warehouse until I figured out what to do with it, which I very much appreciate. I didn't need it in the end but it was great that they offered.

He took my detailed moving video and turned it into an online inventory for me, then stayed in constant communication as the move approached. The pricing was competitive, transparent and all-in, so I never worried about surprise costs later. Then came our fantastic crew for the move from Rosslyn, VA to Kansas City, MO. Jose was our lead, with special thanks to Alfredo, Roberto and Chris. Jose and Alfredo also drove our belongings all the way to Kansas City. They were so kind, even unwrapping and setting up furniture we'd had shipped separately, and they hauled away our boxes along with their own packing materials. The pricing was great, but what truly made the difference was the people. When I move back to DC, I'll 100% be calling Mic's again.

I had had a great experience with them just last year when I last moved and knew they'd be able to get the job done again. My project was immediately responded to and they were able to help me move two weeks later on their soonest available date. The three movers, Pat, Renaldo, and Kevin were incredible. Communication leading up to the move and theday of was great. They were able to move all my large furniture within 2 hours. Everything was wrapped carefully and efficiently. They were kind and thoughtful, helping me make adjustments to the furniture layout once we got to the destination. Their positivity through one of the hardest situations I've ever gone through was much-needed and made me feel confident in entering this next chapter. I even had a last minute change to the destination (originally everything was going into storage but I ended up finding an apartment just in time), and the professionalism and patience from the entire Bookstore team through this change was excellent. Pricing was reasonable yet again and came out to about $500 (excluding tip) for the truck fee and moving of 16 large items. Thank you Bookstore Movers for helping me when I needed it most!

We were disappointed with our recent experience with Bookstore Movers. The crew was polite, but the…read moremove felt much slower and less efficient than it should have been. We had a dedicated elevator, yet workers often brought items down only one or two at a time. I also saw team members on their phones or standing around in rooms and hallways instead of actively moving things. These delays added up quickly. The crew also misplaced parts of our bed frame, and the pieces had to be found before it could be reassembled. That alone added nearly an hour to the move. Because the move took much longer than expected, the final cost was significantly higher than the estimate we received. We were also charged based on an arrival time that was recorded as ten minutes earlier than when the crew actually arrived. The team was courteous, but given the inefficiency, added time, and higher final price, we would not use Bookstore Movers again. This is unfortunate, because we had been happy with them in previous moves.

So after receiving a few quotes from a handful of businesses, I went with Potomac Moving due to the speed of their response, clarity in communication, pricing and overall warmth and professionalism. In our first phone call to walk though my needs, they were very assuring and accommodating, which is a such a relief in the midst of stress and coordination that comes with planning for a move. They were also always very responsive in the few times that I reached out between the time I paid the deposit and the actual move. A night or two before, I sent at email regarding wardrobe boxes, since I was debating whether or not I should buy and have a few delivered to me. The owner responded quickly, assuring me that wardrobe boxes were tried, true and if I wanted to buy any directly from them that I could. That ended up being a great call, because they were able to properly enforce the boxes so that even the boxes filled with my heaviest coats remained in tact. On the day of the move, the movers were communicative regarding their arrival time. They were also very nice and hard working. I had a few large furniture items that needed to be disassembled and they ended up being quite beasts to tackle. But they worked diligently to break them down. Once it came time to move things to my new place, that was a breeze. One gesture that I thought was just so classy, was the owner called in the middle of the move to check-in on how things were going - I really appreciated that. Overall, would definitely recommend PMC - they're easy to work with, fair and transparent about pricing and you're sure to be met with professionalism!

I appreciate your response, but I need to clarify a few points for accuracy. At no point did I…read morerefuse to pay for services rendered--what I objected to was the lack of professionalism, last-minute changes, and misrepresentation of the job despite providing an inventory in advance.Your team arrived late and attempted to upsell, which created unnecessary stress and forced me to rent a truck myself in order to complete the move. This was not an issue of "budget," but rather of expectations set by your company not being met. Customers should be able to rely on a moving service to honor the scheduled time, come prepared, and communicate honestly. Unfortunately, that did not happen here. What's more telling is that several other reviews describe the same experience I had--so this isn't an isolated issue. Instead of addressing that pattern, your assumption is that I "couldn't afford the move"... interesting. While I understand setbacks can occur, dismissing concerns by blaming the customer is not good business practice. My review reflects my experience so that future customers can make informed decisions.
