Quick feedback for those looking to a storage facility 1…read more Place is brand new and clean 2. Entrance is really easy to get large trucks in and out, especially in Chicago cold winters 3. Manager of the place was super nice and accomodating (in terms of the millions of questions I had) 4. I needed something a little bit out of the ordinary and they were really helpful 5. Prices on the the same square footage vary..do your math 6. Take a photo of the access code in your iPhone bc you'll never find that card when you need it. One thing on the potential negative side...you need to use a barrel lock vs padlock. If you don't have one of these, it costs about $14. I ended up buying two, but only used 1. I gave my extra to the manager and asked him to give it to someone who was "down on their luck and needed it"...if you rent from here and finish with your locker, I'd hope you would do the same thing (or give it to a goodwill, that can give it to someone needy) FYI - my comparison storage facility is one I have used in Sydney Australia, and while the staff were friendly and easy to work with, the storage space was grotty, would only give that one 3 stars if I'd have to review it

Staff refuses to assist, such as providing temporary holding in first floor units. Inaccessible, unreasonable!

The facility needs work as far as carts, doors etc., but the staff is what has made me stay here…read morefor more than 7 years. Tamika is always helpful, polite and professional. She cares about your stored items sure; but she also keeps an eye on your personal safety and needs. She is definitely the reason I have stayed at this location despite opportunities to move.

I rented a 10x10 space to hold some items while my husband and I work on purchasing a house. The…read morespace itself is fine for the price I'm paying. I wouldn't say it's top of the line but at least my stuff is out of the elements (hopefully, it did seem the AC was broken or turned off). Anyways, as I was dropping off my items with the help of a moving company, I followed the provided map to find my unit. There are two elevators and the elevator closest to my space was out of order. Except there was no sign on the elevator to indicate this. There was no mention of it anywhere. So my movers went up to investigate to see if someone was holding the elevator (it was stuck on the 2nd floor), by walking around the building to find the stairs. Once we deduced it was broken, it had been 30 minutes of paid time for them, and then it took an additional 30 minutes to find an alternative route (from the back elevator all the way to the front of the facility where my unit is). There was also about a dozen of other tenants there, so this created a huge traffic jam trying to use one elevator. I called and left a voicemail for management to explain the most basic courtesy for anyone using their facility is to post an out of order sign on the elevator. The voicemail I received back from Temika (spelling) was that it's company policy to not make public service announcements for defunct equipment and that they were sorry I had to pay my movers more but that is "just the process". Overall, my 10 weeks pregnant self did more to help the dozen or so tenants of this facility by giving anyone who tried to use the elevator last night a heads up that it was broken. Given the extra hour it required to move my items, I ended up paying $600 more than what I was originally quoted (3 laborers at $200 an hour due to it being past 6pm when all was said and done). So my question is are the employees of this location really that apathetic that they don't care about the 10-week pregnant woman or the 68 year old mom having to run around their facility to figure out one elevator is out of order, or are they all just that lazy? I wonder if they watched back the security footage to see just how miserable everyone was last night scrambling to get their items stored or moved on a Friday night before a holiday weekend. I will gladly be talking to their corporate office once the LDW holiday has passed. Long story short: look at other Public Storage facilities that have staff that aren't lazy and apathetic.

For a long time, there was no local management, just a phone number on the locked office door. I have complained to upper mgt and received no satisfaction, just continuing excuses. I should say the new manager is very nice but essentially powerless to rectify problems. Be warned - the elevators are of the same vintage - even if they show you a unit in the other building, it is sure to fail soon and you'll be stuck like me. Beyond the elevators, the place is not well kept. Carpets are filthy, the fence is collapsing, interior lights don't work all the time and the hand carts are broken. Although I've never seen vermin, there are rat traps all around. So it must be a problem for some tenants. I recently gave up and moved to another facility nearby. The final insult is an overcharge on my last bill that I now have to address. UGH.

Instead of compensating people they continued to increase the rent... I was storing more items in my home then in my unit! I couldn't get items down the stairs. The door was very small, and there's a pole on the order side. I've called multiple times with no answer. My final draw was a third increase since the down elevator... I was paying $53 for a unit that was being offered at $38. Also no elevator! I moved 2 miles up the street. Same size unit for $27! Took me 38 trips up the stairs, there's not even a hand truck to use. Took me 1.5 hours to move out. Only took 25 minutes to move in the other unit. Signed a year lease with them! I was with this place since October 2023 snd would still be there if they didn't raise the rent while the elevator was out for over a year! Plus the heat/air is out... website says heated/cooled and elevator ALL not true... very sad to have this happen. I used to go on lunch to storage. Now I can't. But even worse was I had more stuff in my home then here and was paying for a unit I wasn't able to use. As I took stuff out I kept it in my home!!! Ugh hopefully they can fix these issues. Would love to come back!
