This was my first time using this service. Customer service was amazing! They really worked with…read moreme on every problem that I came across. Example: I needed to change my move dates by 2 days it was incredibly easy to change it. Second example: I was having trouble opening and closing my box. I called the office and they sent someone out immediately to WD 40 it and show me how to correctly close the box. I wasn't completely bringing the handle over to the left. Third example: They issue safety vests to wear while you are loading your boxes. There are semi trucks coming and going with loads of our boxes and merchandise, so you need to be careful and the truckers need to see you. They follow rules for our safety and they do care. Make sure you wear your vest! It was easy to call and speak to customer service. Make sure you have your info ready so they can help you with all the details. I ended up renting 2 boxes from U Pack. My contents all fit inside a 12 foot moving truck that I rented from Home Depot. If you have a lot of furniture you may need to use U Haul to transfer your items. You DO have the option of having the boxes delivered to your home instead of the facility. It was less expensive for me to pack at the facility and transfer to the closest facility in my new state and rent a truck to haul the final distance. There are many options for you to choose from: Renting space in the semi, Having boxes delivered to your home to pack them up to 3 days in advance of moving or you can pack at the facility itself and save more money. The downside? Only getting a couple of days to pack is not enough time. I hope they change this in the future (two weeks would be better). The second downside was when my boxes arrived the Knoxville location didn't set the boxes completely on the pavement they were leaning against U Pack boxes behind mine that slanted them forward. When I opened the boxes all of my items came tumbling out due to the slant. This is NOT U Pack's fault, but the fault of the forklift operator who moved the boxes. I still give this company 5 stars. My boxes arrived quickly to the destination. Very few items were damaged. The customer service was wonderful. The workers from the office workers to truck drivers also really seem to like working for this company. That says a lot. I highly recommend this company for people who are moving by themselves, have to move quickly, moving on a budget, moving to another state or are even moving within the city. They also offered the best rates. They know what they are doing. Cut them some slack nothing is perfect. I had a couple small items that were damaged, but I had to expect that not all of my items would arrive perfect. Pack well and strap it down well. Happy moving.

Depending on your locker size you might get an individually monitored unit alarm, ours had it, smaller lockers might not. The entire building has tons of CCTV cameras located throughout and looks very secure against would be burglars. Cleanliness: Even the bathrooms are secured by PIN pad, if that doesn't tell you the place is kept extremely clean then I don't know what will. Everything is immaculate inside the building with the exception of some scuffs and scratches here and there from people recklessly careening through the halls with loading dollys. Price: I hear it already, I can hear the voices of people saying "that place is expensive" SHUT UP! You get what you pay for. If you want top tier storage with high security and climate control to guarantee that your sensitive vinyl record collection and high end computers stay safe during your move you're going to need a company like Safeguard. Bottom line: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! Don't skimp on protecting your stuff if you have high value items. If you're just storing a bunch of boxes of clothes and general housewares you probably don't need a fancy storage provider with climate controlled indoor storage and can go for an outdoor locker. All that said, for what we were storing, records and high value computing and storage arrays along with a plethora of other sensitive electronics it was well worth the extra money knowing our stuff was safely stored under climate controlled lock and key. Location: It's right off the highway which makes it easy to get to with a large truck and their loading dock can accommodate most any truck you can throw at it. Loading Dock: An enclosed loading dock is a nice plus especially when it's suddenly started raining and you want to unload your truck into storage. Unloading dollies are provided and all were in good working order when I was there. Bottom Line: If you are looking for top notch storage this is your place. If you are storing low value items that don't need climate control then you might be better served elsewhere.

I had to send back items on 2 occasions during the delivery because the driver tried giving me items that weren't mine. I'm assuming that's where my TV and missing kitchen box went. Damaged items: Broken sectional couch frame and torn fabric (underside), torn fabric headboard, Sanyo WiFi ready blue ray player broken, some bowls broken, glasses cracked/broken.
