BEWARE! ive rented plenty of storage in the past and never have had an issue with loading and unloading until the day i purchased my unit. The day I purchased the unit there were several people in the office who pretty much just stared at me while I tried to figure out where to get a dolly. i eventually just came back the next day. on my move day - there were zero dolly's left. only 2 in the building and when i asked the rep (a dark skin man with dreads) he just shrugged and laughed it off. it's crazy to think that they only have 2 dolly's for a location that is huge and has multiple floors. very unappealing area, and they will charge you for pretty much anything. the main manager is just rude and very nonchalant, as if he could careless to be there. what really threw me off was the lack of supplies and unwavering attention to all the folks who needed help. the access codes don't even work either read more

Oh i'm pissed today December 24th I went to my storage unit to find out it was broken into and my all my designer and other shoes that was in there was stolen and when I went to the office to speak to the lady she told me that some of the hallways don't have cameras only the ones by the elevator and she would not know who did it ...so Public storage I need answers and run me all my shoe money asap plus reports and claims has been filed so get ready i'm going to win this case cause I have pictures of my unit when I moved in where all stuff was places and Im confuse want to know why that each floor and hall don't have cameras which they should have cameras cause you never know what would happen.. read more

Hi, I started renting here in June. I have auto pay and noticed my bill just doubled! I don't have prime location and hardly any one there if u have questions! Public storage closest and newer has for 35.00. They are charging me 82 and it's on top floor , hard to locate. They just automatically increase, I just happened to notice. Left a message and will see what they say. It's true about rest rooms as well! They are never open! The layout is different to find unit as they have a bunch and the numbers, u end up going in circles unless u go all the time Hoping they use same price as their newer sister property or, I'll change NO LOYALTY WITH ANYONE ANYMORE EVEN THOUGH THEY GET PAID ON TIME EVERY MONTH! read more

I rented a large unit mid-January 2023 and in June I discovered they raised the rate 27% for July with no notice given by email, text or in app messages. I went to the office before the July payment was due and asked if it was customary for the rate to increase so drastically after such a short time of renting. The associate agreed the increase was surprising and said she would send a message requesting to lower the rate to the original. She said I should receive a response in a few days. I received no response. I was not able to pay the increased rate because of my financial situation and expenses, so they tacked on late fees and lien charges for July. Then they did the same for August. I called and asked if I were to pay the late charges and fees for July if that would prevent the unit going into auction and they said, "no, you need to pay the full amount due". I had to borrow money from my employer to keep the unit from going to auction in 2 days and pay the 65% increase for the 2 months because of the increase in rent and the fees. I understand that the market dictates pricing, but this company is the worst when it comes to communication and working with customers to resolve problems. The previous time I rented with a Public Storage I had a car wreck on the road in the front of the property and was not able to pick up the balance of my items because my car was totaled. The manager saw the wreck and I was told I could come back and pick up the things I had left and they would store them until I could come back with a truck. 6 days later I discovered they dumped all of the items I had left in the trash which included paintings my father who was an artist had created, patio furniture, family photos and the dumpster had already been picked up. All that was left was a photo of me and my parents from 40 years prior. I was livid. Never again will I rent a storage unit from this company. Cube Smart is only 4 miles up the road and renting for 1/2 the rate for same size, first floor and climate controlled. I suggest this company to no one...ever. read more

It doesn't make sense that a facility of this size, which has, at least, 2 restrooms per floor, never has working restrooms. They always display "Out of Order." My guess is that the staff either doesn't want to clean them or they do not want to have to check them to ensure there are no overnight squatters. I have been using Public Storage for about two weeks now and I was stressing because my code was working I was getting locked out. I went one morning during the week and the first girl wasn't very helpful she was saying thats how the system is and there's nothing she can do the other lady with an accent was very helpful and nice I can't recall her name but she was really helpful. I went this past weekend and was having issues again. The young man and lady there saw that I was stressing trying to get in turquoise and Jimmy was their names they were very helpful. They were kind and patient also very informative they knew their job and what they were talking about. It was just what I needed because I was over it. I was stressing and by time I left I was smiling and felt like good. It was a very hard day for me. We need more people like this in the world. Very kind people. read more

finally leaving this horrible storage place! They went up $60 on my storage unit just for the heck of it. You can't get a cart after business hours even though they're open til 9pm. There explanation was "someone stole a cart before". They are too LAZY of a company to invest into bigger/heavier carts that someone can't steal like my new storage place. The bathroom is ALWAYS disgusting. The caucasian lady is very very prejudice. She is beyond rude and disrespectful and if I wasn't a Christian woman, I definitely would have cursed her out a few times. The older African American lady is the sweetest and she will be missed. No one is ever in the office during the hours you need to talk to them. They have locked all of the dollies up to move your items so you can't use them after 5 pm. On top of that, I went in to move items out of storage, and the code that was supposed to work after hours failed so there is no access after 8 p.m. There is a number to call but no one answers it and the code fails. Overall, fine to move in to, but a nightmare to move out of. read more

The e-rental process was a breeze. The day of my move I went to public storage to buy additional packing supplies and got to the counter to realize that I had forgotten my wallet. Totally Embarrassed Trish assured me that it was fine and held my items till I was able to return. This place is a rip off. My monthly fee increased from $180 a month to $457 am month, for the exact same unit. In addition, I'm set up on automatic payments and I notice in a 6 month time span, they increased the monthly amount twice, ($270, to $335) without my confirmation. I would give this place ZERO stars if I could! Do NOT rent a storage unit here...trust me. I don't care about the high reviews online (that got me) or their pitch that it is a newer location. It may have only been built in 2016/17, but there is a severe domestic roach problem on the third floor (that I know of; there may be other floors also), and Public Storage has been SLOW to respond. As gross, widespread, and serious as the problem is, the company personnel have acted detached and unconcerned during the complaint process. And, once they actually have gotten around to responding, they have been extremely uncaring and incompetent in doing so (the property manager there in particular was very unempathic and rude). I pride myself on being a reasonable person, but this is unacceptable. The company has NO regard for the health and condition of the property of its customers in this roach infested location. I have been dealing with this for approximately TWO MONTHS and followed every proper chain of command (from the staff employees to the district manager), as well as paid for my unit on time EVERY month, so they will have NO excuses, yet they still have NOT rectified anything (in spite of claiming they have/will). I have photo documentation and extensive notes that I will be forwarding to the corporate office, as well as the BBB, because all they care about is the meeting their numbers (I had a manager tell me one time that the staff members were too busy to check the floor for ROACHES because they rented 5 units that day, which is a lot. WHO CARES WHEN YOU HAVE A SEVERE PROBLEM GOING ON?!!!) I will continue to pursue a reasonable resolution, but in the interim, I hope no one else will have to experience this disgusting and unsanitary inconvenience! I have literally spent hours and hours going through my things and treating my unit with my own money. Also, the onsite security is a joke. I have been there early and late, and seen no one, and there are people living in their units. As I suspected, and they eventually confirmed, one of the reasons the roach problem is there is because someone was living in a unit and had food in it. That same person had asked me and my friend for money and said they were homeless a month before, and when I reported it, they lied and said Trish the manager monitors the property so there is no way someone could live there. I located this storage online and it is so close to work. I completed most things online but still had to fill out so much paperwork. The cost is a little misleading as well as having to purchase "their" locks. With a special of $1 for first month and I ended up with $46. It's month to month and the size cost seems reasonable. Beth was the most helpful and kind during this whole process. Firstly, we were running late for our reservation. I gave her a call to let her know and she easily and kindly changed the reservation time! When we had questions about the size of our unit, she showed us the unit and advised that we would actually need a smaller one which saved us money! We left to go purchase a lock and she waited for us into her lunch so we wouldn't lose any of the progress we had made prior to leaving. She was kind, understanding, and fun to work with! Absolute worst. I wish I could give zero stars. I ended my contract with them because I didn't need a unit anymore. First they kept charging me after I moved out. I said fine, I'll pay the month I didn't have the units to get them off my back. Then, after going down to the location on Harry Hines in person to make sure my account was closed, I get another bill because they didn't close my account. Now there is a collection agency and they are STILL charging me month to month. One extra month I could see they messed up. But to just keep charging me after I have been down there and ensured the account is closed twice, they are just stealing from me at this point. I get they have some friends and employees who write reviews to make this place look good but it is the worst. Impossible to find anyone in the office either. You will be waiting for hours. read more

We've been renting here for over a year and we were extremely happy and recommended the space to several friends and neighbors... that all changed recently. On our last three visits we have been completely unable to find a cart. The cart is massively important, because it turns ten trips into one, and with my bad back, this is ESSENTIAL. We were told at move-in that they have tons of carts and you'll always be able to find one, which until recently was absolutely true. Lately, we have joined other residents in searching each floor and wasting up to 30 minutes each time unsuccessfully looking for carts, before wasting even more time and risking injury carrying all of our christmas stuff up to the 4th floor by hand. I called the property manager and she said carts have been getting stolen so they lock them up and only check them out during business hours which is 9:30-6:00PM, AKA completely impossible for any of us Dallasites with traditional jobs. I asked why they didn't notify anybody and she didn't have anything to say. During our cart searches, we have met at least 20 other residents frustrated about the cart situation with no idea they've changed their policy. I pointed out that there are security cameras everywhere and we were told there is an on-site security person at all times, so how could they not track down the unit number or license plate number of whoever is stealing carts? Again, she didn't have an answer. I called corporate and left a voicemail with the district manager and still haven't heard back. Not only is it frustrating to not have carts and for them to have changed the policy without notifying us, but I've lost all faith in their security whatsoever if they can't track down the theft of multiple giant, bright orange carts. I'll be shopping around for another company that will uphold basic amenities presented during move-in. read more

The manager is Trish and is very very rude will talk to you like you are s--- if you are in the building minutes past 9pm like I was she came to me and said in a very rude voice (WE CLOSED TIME TO GO AND TOLD ME I WAS TRESPASSING IT WAS 9:19PM )all she had to do was say Sir we are closed for the evening but that was to correct for her to say that so just beware of that.
