Grossly negligent. Do not use this location. We've had our unit burglarized twice in 30 days and items stolen both times. The first time we had multiples TVs stolen. The second burglary the unit was completely ransacked- cut into every box and took a ton of valuables, both sentimental ones (why?!) and costly ones. The first theft involved 10 units. The second involved 40 units. This location has no interior cameras and after the first issue James told us "DPD won't do anything since we don't have cameras". Furthermore, the location requires an ID to use a luggage cart because they've had so many stolen, THUS MANAGEMENT IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND HAS ELECTED NOT TO INSTALL INTERIOR CAMERAS OR TAKE OTHER SECURITY MEASURES THAT EXIST AT OTHER LOCARIONS. The second burglary happened on 9/14, nearly a week ago, and we still haven't received a call from corporate. Yesterday James notified us that there's no way for us to call them, we just have to await their call. Still waiting... Oh, and in a last ditch effort to salvage any of our remaining items after the second incident, we moved several boxes from our first floor interior unit to our second floor interior unit only to find that the second unit's door could be jerked open with the locks on and latch closed (see video). We then waiting 3 hours for the repairman to arrive who had only terribly concerning things to say about this location. Repairman wasn't able to replace the latch because they had all been used to repair the 40 other burglarized units. If you value your items and security, go literally anywhere else. read more

Worst self storage company ever. No security cameras within the building. No building access system to each building - a literal free for all the homeless to steal your contents. Homeless hanging out when office is closed, including during the week. Restrooms have a constant flow of homeless going in there. If you want your stuff stolen, this is the place to go. And theives carry hunting knives to slash open your contents, so better be prepared when you go in the building! read more

If you want the best storage company in Dallas, it is James at the Lemon location. Very professional, kind and know the business. Do not use this location. We had our unit broken into. It was all very suspicious. The back fence is not secure. The doors have no codes on them so anyone can come and go as they please. Very few cameras. When I called corporate to report a complaint about what terrible shape this was all in they said the crime and homelessness was bad in the area. That was their excuse. Other people have had the same experience here even though the manager lied and told me that they had not had a break in since last October. I spoke with someone who was broken into in December. We had someone else's belongings left in our unit and they made no effort to find out who they belong to. Terrible waste of money. The insurance won't come near replacing what was in our unit, the manager told me he would never put anything of value in a storage unit. HA! Lesson learned. We moved to a new storage unit. read more

Extra Space Storage told me I had a 10 x 10 unit on hold on Saturday 9/12/2020. So on Monday 9/14/2020 (closed on Sunday) I called to pay for the unit so movers could start moving my things in. Problem: "Somebody leased that unit." How can someone lease it when it's on hold for me? I tried to speak with a manager but they would not return my calls. Robert or Brittany were asked to call me. DO NOT LEASE FROM THEM. THEY ARE NOT HONEST AND TRUSTWORTHY. Phone calls are not returned and you get a completely different story depending on who you speak with. Management is doing an extremely poor job and they are not organized at all. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. read more

I researched which units were close to me, had the storage size needed, with the "right"price. I made an online reservation and within 15 minutes, received a phone call from an on-site team member, confirming details, providing next steps and logistics information (confirming I knew location), and arranging for a time for me to finalize the lease in-person. Upon arrival, the process to lease the space (paperwork) was quick and efficient. Walking to the planned space was very helpful, as it led to me choosing a different size (staff had planned for such contingency and has additional units for me to look at it). First load of items to unload into storage, the unit was tagged with a note confirming my reservation and details of who to contact if I had questions. Very efficient. Well-thought out process to rent this storage. I highly recommend them. read more

I just moved to Dallas from California and needed a space to keep my stuff until i settle in an apartment. the customer service was great and very friendly. their rates are very good and it's very easy to come in open your storage and you can park your car right next to the storage area. This storage facility is very conveniently located and is gated for safety. I used storage at the facility for 8 months. Overall I was satisfied. The door to my unit was a bit quirky, and I had to screw the handle back on myself as it was very loose. The lock they sold me was a bit difficult to open and close while on the door, but not a big problem. The main reason for my not giving them 5 stars was that this is the most expensive facility in the area by far to begin with and after 5 months, they raised my monthly rate by $25/month or up by 14% on top of the already high rate. I called them about it, but they refused to come down on that rate increase. I only meant to have the storage temporarily or I would have moved to a more reasonably priced facility nearby. Otherwise things there were fine. read more

Rented a unit for one month. What a deal! Nice clean facility with cameras everywhere. Only problem was it was for my homeless friend whos really old. They kicked him out after the weekend and now I keep getting emails at 6 in morning to write a review. So if you need a place for your homeless friend to stay this is not it. read more

Off-the-charts friendly, accommodating and professional. I researched storage places in the neighborhood for my daughter's overflow, and narrowed the search to this place and a 2-star place called Uptown Storage. Well, no comparison. Uptown was locked up (at 10am) with a phone number posted on the door that nobody answered. Dinged for poor customer service, and apparently rightly so. Tony at Extra Space, on the other hand, couldn't have been more welcoming. He treated me with respect, answered my questions, took me around and showed me his very clean property, and showed me how to get the best deal. I signed the deal and moved my stuff in right away. In a city known for friendliness, Tony sets the bar even higher. read more

It was just a storage space until I went one day to find 2 bikes, a lawnmower and several other expensive items missing from mine. The lock had visible cuts on it but was not broken, so I was confused about how someone could get in. I freaked out, went to the manager, who mentioned they might have gone over the top and through the CHICKEN WIRE "securing" the top of the unit. That's right, chicken wire and staples, that's it. Sure enough, it was pulled back and made an opening just large enough for someone to get it and fish things out and over the top. When I asked about cameras, etc, she detailed where they did not cover, and how the perps could easily have come over the back fence unseen. OK, so they aren't entirely secure, and they are aware of the shortcomings. Wasn't the worst part, though... on a subsequent visit the same manager who before seemed to know exactly how the thieves did it suggested now that I had something to do with it, that I had basically stolen the stuff from myself and staged it. It seemed like an attempt to dodge liability for the theft, which made no sense to me since I hadn't even bothered to file a police report and insurance claim (because their extra-cost insurance is so weak it wasn't worth the trouble -- another subject entirely). So, yeah, can't recommend the place unless you are excited about having your stuff burgled and being subsequently accused of taking it yourself in some sort of insurance scam in which you don't even actually involve the insurance company. Great customer service here! I looked up places nearby and decided to try this one based on the positive reviews. Upon coming in, the management was able to show me the space options I had and offered to reserve a space even though I wasn't ready to begin renting yet. She also gave me the online rate for checking them out on google prior to coming in! Came in a week later and the registration went smoothly. They took the time to show me my unit and were thorough in explaining their process. They check every unit each morning to make sure you've locked up appropriately, and if not they make sure to contact you and put a temporary lock on your door until you get there. If you are looking for a long-term storage space, look elsewhere. I rented a space for $200 a month which I thought was very reasonable, and they continued to raise my rent every few months, and raise it, and raise it, and raise it, until it was nearly double my original payment, forcing me to move out.
