- Avoid This Public Storage Location and Company This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. On July 29, I accidentally reserved a unit at the wrong location. I called immediately, and the customer service representative assured me the reservation was canceled and that I would not be charged. The next day, July 30, the property called to ask about my experience. I explained what happened, and they also confirmed the reservation showed canceled and that the pending charge on my bank account would simply fall off. Instead, the charge posted to my account. Since then, I've contacted Public Storage at least eight times. I've been transferred between customer service and the property, told different stories by different people, and promised callbacks that never happened. The location won't answer the phone, and despite acknowledging the reservation was canceled, they still haven't refunded my money or properly closed everything out. To make matters worse, I'm now receiving calls about a unit I was told had already been canceled. No customer should have to spend this much time fixing a mistake that Public Storage acknowledged from the very beginning. If a company tells you your reservation is canceled and you won't be charged, they should honor that. I cannot recommend Public Storage based on my experience. I hope someone in corporate finally takes responsibility and resolves this. read more

The absolute WORST storage facility. No onsite manager. They don't answer the phone, they don't return phone messages. If you say ( to the auto message answering machine) you want to rent a space you can get a corporate agent. The agent can't do anything to help you. I can't find my key for the unit lock so I can't drop off my stuff. My stuff is in a delivery truck until I get the lock cylinder removed. Their locksmith comes 1 day a month. Can't leave my furniture in the delivery truck for another 20+ days. The company does not provide ANY SERVICE, period. The on site manager called 3 days after my first phone call. He can't arrange anything, he has no phone numbers not even the corporate number. The agent said the lock would be removed in no more than 3 days. The manager says they only come once, end of month. Any place has to be better than this. read more

Given its location you pay a premium for the units. However, if you EVER need to reach an on onsite person...good luck. My key broke off in the lock and have been trying to reach the property manager since Thursday and today is Saturday. No call back. No one at office. Call the corporate office and they say that a request can be filed but will take 72 hours and be dependent on this non existent property manager. Horrible service. read more

Thousand of dollars worth of my things were stolen from my unit. The staff was unhelpful and the way it all happened indicates that an employee was involved. You can't find carts to move your things in and out:"; I believe there's one in the whole facility. They raise your prices ever 6 months. The elevator breaks often and the units on the top floor sustain water damage regularly. I wish there was something good for me to say. I'm not typically negative, but this place is terrible. read more

Watch out for the "Bait & Switch"!! When I showed up with my items for storage I was told my reservations and rates had been cancelled "by Corporate" and now stuck with my items for storage had to pay twice as much for the space!!! I am a reasonable person but my calls to "management" went unreturned for weeks and now have failed to offer any resolution. All I asked for was what I reserved. Location personnel are very good but "Corporate" management anything but responsive or professional....... BUYER BEWARE AND LOOK ELSEWHERE !!! read more

BLACK MOLD is rampant throughout the third floor units!!! They do not inspect their roof after storms. Gross negligence on their part!! They have MASSIVE ROOF DAMAGE. My entire unit was wet and drawers were full of water!! Black mold was everywhere!!! I lost everything!!! They have not contacted anyone else to come and claim their property, your belongings are setting in a pool of water! When I contacted the dispute resolution team - they said "too bad". Public Storage @ 3550 W. Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, TX 75235 DREADFUL EXPERIENCE! My rent was PAID ON-TIME and I show up one day to find an eviction letter on my door which stated I had 72-hours to vacate the property and did not specify any reason why. According to the contract, Public Storage can terminate your lease whenever they want to and for no reason at all. I work a 12-hour shift overnight, go to school online, and make sure I pay my bills on-time so I do not have to stress about losing my belongings or at least that is what I thought. I contacted Public Storage to find out what was going on and apparently the representative was not able to see why I was being evicted on such short notice, so I told her to please note on my account that I would not be able to have all of my stuff moved out in 72-hours due to work and school but that I would be moved out before the end-of-month since I already paid for the current month. So on my next day off, which is my only day off, I went up there with the intentions of moving my things, however, my access code did not work, come to find out the regional manager and/or property manager felt like that was not necessary for me to access my unit to move my things out. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED ABOUT THIS... As a matter of fact, I spoke to the assistant manager the following day and she told me that my access code was working and that I would have no problem accessing my unit. So 2-days later I ran out of my prescription and I have to take this medicine everyday, which is why I had an extra bottle in my storage. I figured the medicine would be in a safe accessible place for if I ever needed them. Upon arriving at the facility I discovered that my access code was not working so I went to knock at the property manager's door and she came outside yelling at me NOT to knock on her door because that is her private residence, I thought to myself why would someone live on the property and get so upset to the point she came outside screaming at me. I tried explaining that I needed to get my medication out of my unit and she just walked off very carelessly shouting that it is not her problem. AT THIS POINT, MY HEALTH IS BEING PUT ON THE LINE AND THE RESPONSE I GET IS IT IS NOT YOUR PROBLEM? I NEVER SAID IT WAS ANYONE ELSE'S PROBLEM EXCEPT MY OWN BUT AT THE VERY LEAST I EXPECTED FOR THIS COMPANY HAVE SOME TYPE OF COMPASSION... I HAVE NEVER FELT SO UNDERVALUED IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. I CALLED THE POLICE AND WAITED OUTSIDE IN THE COLD UNTIL THE END OF ACCESS HOURS AT WHICH TIME I LEFT BECAUSE THEY HAD NOT SHOWN UP AND EVEN IF THEY DID THE GATES WERE CLOSED. I LATER FOUND OUT THE REASON I WAS BEING EVICTED WAS BECAUSE I LEFT THE PROPERTY 3 DIFFERENCE TIMES 30-45 MINS LATE AFTER HOURS. APPARENTLY WHEN SOMEONE IS GIVEN A 3-DAY NOTICE TO VACATE THE PROPERTY MANAGER CAN FILE A WRIT WITH COURT TO OBTAIN YOUR PROPERTY 10-DAYS (WEEK DAYS) LATER WHICH IS PROBABLY WHY MY ACCESS CODE WOULD ONLY WORK DURING OFFICE HOURS. I HAVE A GOOD UNDERSTANDING ON THE WAY BUSINESS SHOULD BE CONDUCTED WHICH IS WHY I REMAINED CALM AND CONTACTED AUTHORITIES TO HELP ME. PUBLIC STORAGE SHOULD REALLY REVISE SOME RULES WHEN IT IS ON ACCESSING UNITS DUE TO AN EMERGENCY BASIS. read more

Do NOT rent a unit here!!! My unit was just broken into for the THIRD time. The management is NOT helpful and literally just shrug their shoulders and say... "Sorry. We have no cameras remotely close to your unit." They HAVE to know who broke into our unit as you have to have a code to get into the gate the night our stuff was ransacked through." Our family is now missing MANY items and they stole big & heavy boxes of books and sentimental items. HOW in the world can I believe that their cameras (exterior ones) didn't capture this?! They 100% had to have!! The staff is just too lazy and impotent to do ANYTHING to help us. I then asked the manager if we could move units to a unit in front of the camera and she said yes but it would be a 4X price markup!!! Talk about zero customer service!!! Bottom line, YOUR BELONGINGS ARE NOT SAFE HERE!!! I'm just leaving the property now and spoke with many others who are very upset dealing with their units being broken into as well. Beth and Nikki saved my move. Lured by a cheap rate, I had reserved a unit at Dallas Self Storage, only to find out when i got there that the owner had bait and switched me. It was 545pm, and I was so angry that I looked up the closest storage place, because they all closed at 6pm. i found this Public Storage building only 0.75 miles away. I rushed over there and arrived at 550pm. Beth and Nikki were waiting to close for the day when I walked in, and they helped me out with a great deal on a 10 x 15 unit. I got signed up and my movers were able to get my unit loaded in an hour! It could have been a disaster of a day, and instead turned out to be great. The pricing was really good on line, and I can't say enough about these two great service providers. The unit is in the non-climate controlled part of the building, and both Beth and Nikki were able to make recommendations based upon my contents whether it would be appropriate. I'm glad it was, because it is much cheaper. My locker is also an interior unit which stays relatively cool anyway, so I'm very happy. read more

I am very disappointed in the lack of professionalism and customer service with this company! I've had my unit for 5 months. I received a notice that my rate is going up from $120 to $150 a month! I personally went to the office to discuss this issue, BOTH office attendants were shocked of the increase and said we should together call the corporate office. The lady at corporate was rude, did NOT validate my feelings once nor offer any solutions to resolve my problem. I was told by corporate that I should consider myself lucky for paying the low premium I have and that was that. Their explanation was, they were at capacity there for my unit could go for $185. So let's get this straight, they want you to move in on a good rate but when business is "good for them" they will pull the rug from under your feet! BAD BAD BAD BUSINESS #publicstorage take care of the people that are already your customers!!! I am beside my self! Being a small business owner myself, I don't raise rates on my clients based on "how busy I am" and it sure is NOT 23%! I will share my experience to anyone that will listen! I am currently trying to get any kind of help I can for an issue and have not been successful. My calls have not been returned and have had public storage employees treat me like dirt. Had a flood after an interior pipe froze and burst. Charged an extra $400 after I moved out. They claimed I left wrong key when moved out which is incorrect. Dishonest management. No communication from storage people regarding additional charges. Just sent a collection agency after me. Crappy way to run a business. Would have better luck storing in back yard under a tarp. Laura was especially helpful in helping me find the most cost efficient unit for the size I needed. I thought I had found the best price but when I arrived Laura offered me even a better rate for my unit. She let me choose out of a couple of units too. Very poor customer service. Paid for 24 hour access to unit. Elevator was constantly broke and stairs locked preventing storage access. Told manager of situation, nothing was fixed. I went in today and felt bad because it was 20 minutes before they closed but John was there and was very efficient. He didn't rush it and took me on a tour of the property and found me just what I was looking for. His attitude was excellent even though it was 102 degrees and closing time. The price was exactly what I was hoping for (42 for a 5x5) but do note that they require you to purchase the $9 insurance and you have to buy their $20 lock from them. Those are the only reasons why I didn't give it a 5. It seemed unnecessary but I understand their thinking and business model. John was awesome though. I give him a 5 for sure. read more

Chose this facility because of its' location close to Love Field. Found an online special with first month for $1 so I reserved on my phone. Immediately received a phone call thanking me and asking when would be a good time for me to come in. Manager was very helpful and extremely friendly. I setup appointment for Monday and I received a phone call reminder Monday morning. Again, upon arriving in person, the manager (different one) was very helpful and friendly, showed me the unit and it was very clean and secure. Well lit and has a functioning security gate so feel my contents will be safe. Very happy with the experience. read more
