In short, it's almost impossible to go through a storage term without some degree of inconvenience. Deep Ellum Storage, however, sets a new mark in what a storage center should be. It has a convenient downtown location, its design allows you to bring even a large truck directly up to your unit (no need to push carts down hallways or into elevators), and the place is across the street from the police department. But beyond location and design, Deep Ellum Storage's biggest asset is its owner, Ed, who couldn't have been nicer to my wife and me. His prices are fair and flexible, he runs a tight ship, and his business is b.s. free. After a year of storing the contents of my home in one of the units, I went to Ed to close out my contract, expecting that I would have to go get some document notarized and signed in blood in order to be able to exit the agreement in 30-60 days. Ed, however, told me that he had taken care of everything, and that he hoped to see us again soon. Who else in his business does that? Not trying to slam the others but it's nothing like "snatch & grab" places like Public Storage or Extra Space Storage with extremely high turnover rates for auctions.
