The crew was really efficient and handled our furniture with care, even though they were under pressure. The team even finished packing boxes that were still in progress. Although they were in a rush, the team packed the unfinished boxes itself, wrapping fragile objects very carefully. The furniture was packed and moved efficiently, and in the least amount of time we had before we had to move out of our old apartment altogether. They unloaded at our new home very quickly, but carefully, so that there was no damage done to any of their belongings, although the whole move had taken place hurriedly. What I liked the most about this company is its communication. All calls were answered immediately, and I had no need to follow up on anyone. On arrival day, the crew showed up with all the equipment we needed, and we were given clear instructions before the move. Heavy furniture was properly wrapped, and fragile boxes were loaded separately to prevent damage. The unloading was just as streamlined as the loading, and each box was put where we said. In addition to making our bed and dining table, the movers also helped us reassemble them before they left. All items were received without incident, and no extra charges were applied at the end. They Outsource the business, they outsourced packing to inexperienced packers who did not take proper procedures to protect our glasses, dishes and electronics!!!! They do not have the proper materials such as permanent markers, correct packing tape with cutter. They used our markers and scissors I also found out later they used our knives from the kitchen drawer. They left items inside cabinets and failed to wrap everything before stuffing the boxes and sealing them before we could inspect them!! They also didn't evaluate the job prior to arrival therefore they sent 3 young men to pack a 5 bdrm 4 bath home. The "manager" had to drop off Home Depot wardrobe boxes at least 3 times. It took 4.5 hours at our expense. The movers who were scheduled to arrive the next day was completely blindsided by the size of job and ridiculed the packers work taking pictures to report to the office. They only accept cash, credit card written on a form or over the phone to a remote unknown person (sound like he was in Starbucks). If I can prevent one person from booking this company, then this review has done its job. This was one of the most stressful and unprofessional moving experiences I've had. Keep in mind I was moving from TX to CA. During move-out, the crew stacked boxes carelessly on top of each other, causing them to fall and dent my trash can. A mover even left a bloody thumbprint on my door (eeks!) Then at delivery, the company tacked on multiple last-minute fees, increasing the total cost by roughly 20%. This included an elevator charge, which they never mentioned even when I had disclosed from the very beginning that my building has an elevator. Also, usually moving companies charge for STAIRS, not elevators?!?! I was also charged for a shuttle service, which you think would eliminate any long-carry or distance issues, but they STILL charged a long-carry fee, which does NOT make sense because they barely walked. I also need to point out that their so-called "shuttle service" is them renting a u-haul. Keep in mind, this was all during the day of, during the move and so it felt like I was under pressure to pay for all these surprise charges on the spot and left me feeling cornered into paying for things that were not previously agreed upon. The company frequently uses vague language like "should" instead of clear commitments, creating a false sense of security while leaving customers vulnerable to surprise charges. Despite them saying that they manage the move end-to-end with their own people, the delivery was handled by a third party contractor, not company employees. Communicating was another major issue. My primary contact was unprofessional in written correspondence, using "lol," inconsistent capitalization, and an overly casual tone that felt inappropriate for a paid service. My office desk drawers arrived damaged, and when unpacking, the crew couldn't find the feet for my TV and left my TV not set up. The delivery process was stressful, and I was not asked to verify or count the boxes - I was simply told, "They should all be here." And guess what, my guitar stand was missing and I got a box that didn't belong to me (whoever's missing their mattress protector I'm sorry). June 2026 This was the most unprofessional company and untrained employees that I have ever experienced expediting a move that I paid over $5000 for. In initial conversations with the aggressive sales representative Danny Barnett, I communicated to him that I was a terminally ill woman who could not lift more than 10 pounds and that my daughter and I would be packing and unpacking all of the boxes. He assured me that their movers were trained and professional and that they would be responsible for the secure transport of all furniture, disassembling and assembling all furniture securely, wrapping it all properly, and transporting it without issue. I expected perhaps some dishes or other things I packed to be broken, and perhaps some small scratches on furniture that could be repaired. This is what happened in reality: Although the contract stated that items would be delivered within 21 days of pick up, Danny told me via email, likely 2-3 days as it is moving season and the office manager told me in writing 7 business days. When the very unprofessional "David" from A&M's dispatch dept. contacted me after a week, he stated the items would likely arrive in the beginning of the 2nd week and then changed his story to perhaps the end of the second week and then hung up on me. The items were picked up on May 31st, and were not delivered until June 10 after 5:00 PM. The items were loaded and unloaded by 4 men (different people in each direction). As the furniture was all supposedly wrapped and disassembled properly by trained movers, I did not see the furniture's condition prior to delivery. Upon delivery, the lead "mover" said "we have a problem" one time after the other. He had the audacity to ask me to sign for thousands of dollars of broken furniture and said, the movers damaged it when they disassembled and attempted to reassemble it (after 5 minutes they stated that the broken furniture was beyond repair and left pieces of broken furniture all over our home. Our two beds were both destroyed beyond repair. The mattresses (also damaged) were slapped down on the floor with pieces of the beds scattered through the home. The recliner chair was broken, the ice maker was broken, the file cabinet was broken, and all three lamp shades were destroyed. 6 picture frames were damaged, and the following items were missing all together: 2 tablecloths 8 cloth napkins Duvet cover king Duvet insert king King sheet set 2 pillow shams Missing items were all purchased from Pottery Barn, along with the damaged items: King Bed, picture frames, lamp shades and recliner. The ice maker, file cabinet and queen bed were purchased from Amazon. I have attached photos of the damaged items and the replacement cost from the actual vendor and have attached estimates for the missing items listed above. Although the "insurance" is listed as .60 per pound, the company was in breech of contract which states Per contract/order: 126525: "SECTION 1: Liability of Community Moving and Storage is always subject to the minimum valuation of $0.60 per pound per article and in compliance with and subject to the limitations and provisions of 49 CFR Section 375.701(a): - there is no 100% waiver of liability for property transported by carrier. when allowed by law, and subject to 49 cfr section 375.701(a) (a) carrier is not responsible for injury or damage to any fragile article (articles susceptible to breakage or crushing). Unless such fragile articles are both packed and unpacked by its employees and subject to the further conditions that such packing, unpacking or other handling is performed in a grossly negligent manner by Community Moving and Storage." Community Moving and Storage were highly negligent, careless, and they packed all of the furniture, therefore, those items are not subject to the "insurance rate" but the total price to replace all broken items". I want to be reimbursed the full amount to replace each item as the company was in breach of contract. $ 7000. And the amount of the move that did not oblige by the contract. ($5,500) This claim does not even include the additional lodging expenses due to their incorrect timeline, the associated medical fees to get lifesaving medications available beyond 7 days, and paying extra housing costs for a lease that was already executed based of the company's estimate. So, I was paying rent fees, hotel fees, food costs as we had to home to cook in, etc. The icing on the cake after explaining all of this in detail to Danny, who suddenly became absent and unavailable, a ghost in the wind given all of these problems, the dispatch department and "customer service" the "manager" offered me $150, than the insurance offered me $96. Hard to resist, given that nearly $7000 was wasted on this "move". I could have easily hired 4 college students to do this work for less than $1000. We were all a little nervous about handing over all of our belongings to strangers for the first time when we moved. Fortunately, the office staff did a wonderful job of explaining the entire procedure and keeping us up to date before our move day. The crew arrived just as the window had been set, and as soon as they arrived, they started protecting our furniture before loading. They did an amazing job with our old cabinet and big mirrors; we were impressed. It was delivered on time, and unloading was just as carefully performed as loading. All boxes were delivered to the correct room, and none were damaged. The movers were extremely courteous and never rushed. They were extremely professional and made our move very stress-free. We did a regular move but also included a complete remote workplace, with desks, monitors, a printer and files. I was particularly worried about the computer equipment, as I work from home daily. The screens, cables and office accessories were each individually protected. The desks were dismantled, and all the screws were stored in labeled bags. Important documents were stored in marked boxes to avoid getting lost among household items. They also put our stuff in our kitchen and living room, dividing the space. The truck was on time to the new address, and unloading began immediately. It started raining while they were moving, but they were careful and had covers to protect them. Fortunately, the boxes remained dry, including some with electronics and papers. They were delivered at around 10 pm. One cable was installed in another office box and was easily found due to the labeling. The service was useful for anyone relocating to preserve a work-from-home regimen. read more

Movers showed up, added maybe $5,000 to the price, which, given that my home was selling in about 2 days and they already had my deposit I could not argue or just get new movers. Congrats AM Moving, you took me for more $. You win, this customer loses. THEN, when they got to the delivery location, their 3rd party contractor said he could not drive his particular truck up my new driveway because of the "hill." The "hill" had an incline of about 25 degrees for maybe 20 feet; you'd find much more hilly roads in normal neighborhoods. He said I would have to pay an extra $3,000 to get my stuff. When I complained to management they said it was in the contract, and they would, graciously, allow me to only pay a $2,000 fee. Bear in mind they have all of my household goods. The management person I spoke to told me it was in the contract that they could charge me that much more. ***How hard would it be to look at the address on any map program and see this "hill" and ensure that your customers stuff gets put in a hill capable truck??????? Maybe that's 2 minutes online?*** Instead of their graciously reduced $2,000 fee I had to have the stuff put in storage and delivered by a separate moving company at my additional expense. Congrats AM Moving, you, again, took me for even more $. You win, you saved yourself the cost of 2 minutes of research online in exchange for your customer having to pay over $1,000 out of pocket to another company. You win, this customer loses. Despite living in a 3-bedroom apartment for almost 10 years, I thought I'd find it easy to move out until we started filling up everything from heavy bookshelves to delicate glass figurines. As pickup time approached, we asked what items needed special attention. They wrapped each glass cabinet door separately, padded the wooden dining set before packing and loading it, and wrapped the larger items in padding before loading. We also had a few boxes we packed ourselves that required extra care, and the movers kept them separate from the heavier household items, We didn't just walk through the door to our new home and leave our furniture in the foyer; they not only moved our furniture up to the house, but also positioned the beds, sofa and cabinets just as we instructed. Completely dishonest, unprofessional, and disrespectful from start to finish. I referred Donnie a long-distance move for my clients, and from the very beginning it was a mess. He rushed through the phone call, failed to gather basic and necessary information, and quoted my clients $1,500, which turned out to be wildly inaccurate. When the movers actually showed up, the price magically jumped to $2,300 -- and even after paying that inflated amount, they still didn't move everything. My clients were forced to rent a U-Haul themselves just to finish the move. Absolutely unacceptable. Communication was nonexistent. At pickup, the movers couldn't even give a rough estimate of when the items would be delivered. My clients' belongings were left in limbo for days, and it took countless phone calls just to get a vague update on where their items were and when they might arrive. This level of disorganization is shocking for a company that claims to be professional. On top of all that, Donnie personally put in writing that I would receive a referral fee. When I followed up to resolve the issue professionally, he completely dodged responsibility -- ignoring messages, blocking my calls, and refusing to communicate at all. That alone should tell you everything you need to know about his character and how this company operates. I asked for an estimate for my move a few weeks in advance. I was given a price based on the company's viewing of my home room by room and the yard. Then when the movers arrived, their first statement was that they could not take all of my things; that the truck wasn't big enough. I had to rent a truck myself for an extra $300. Plus, although they did a good job they broke a very large desk making it unusable. The reimbursement process was complicated and finally required me to have it notarized and they offered me only $82 for a $590 desk! I still have no refund of any sort. We left the 4-bedroom house, and the furniture and boxes made it seem like too much work. The crew began their process with a walkthrough and inquired which rooms should be loaded first. They wrapped the sectional couch, dining table, beds, dressers and large TVs. We packed our children's toys and books by room for easy access upon arrival. The kitchen packing was carried out meticulously, particularly for the glassware and small appliances. There were a few large plants that required special attention, and they were properly cared for. The loading period was most of the day, but the team was polite and focused. The truck had to be moved around a little before it got back onto the street. Otherwise, the program was the same as we were informed. The delivery was last weekend at 7 pm. When the movers left, they had placed the beds and large furniture in the appropriate rooms. They gouged all of our floors, broke so much of our furniture, tried to steal our TV and when we threatened to call the police and file a report, it was magically "found" 2 days later in the back of the truck, although the returned it with the base broken off of it completely, so it's useless unless we wanted to mount it to the wall which we can't in our rental house. And now, we have discovered that my husband's $2000 watch that he had planned to pass along to our son as a graduation gift is gone. He had it out showing it to our son prior to our move and put it right back in my jewelry box and now it's gone and they are the only people to have touched that jewelry box other than myself, so you can connect the dots. When I called to speak with the owner, the customer service rep, Michelle point blank stated that the owner doesn't call customers at all, that was what she is there for, however, Michelle didn't seem to give two shits about any of my complaints and offered nothing other than their insurance company to file a claim with. We have moved many times, but this moving company is absolutely horrible! I called and received a quote (I was told there would not be any additional charges per Donnie Mattox). Moving day came, and it was a nightmare. we had a mobile shelf in the garage, all they had to do is wheel it on the truck, but no they, took everything off loaded the shelf then put things all over the truck (not on the shelving). Next day to unload and it was a mess! including that shelf again, we have movers before they shrink wrap it, roll it on and roll off, pretty simple. I was charged an additional 2 hours; this was due to them unloading that shelf (on Wheels) that didn't need to be done in the first place. While unpacking, we had 2 items that were broken, I had to deal with a 3rd party to file a claim, took 7 weeks to get the claim approved, then I was told AM Moving issues the check! I have called and left messages to Michelle about issuing our check, No phone calls back and a month later still NO CHECK! this claim was less than $100.00...Poor customer service, poor moving experience!!!! We were moving between two houses in two different cities and required two moving vans. The first crew who showed up seemed okay and were working diligently and quickly. The second crew showed up about 4 hours later and were disorganized and I'd catch a few of them on their phones. They finished around 8:00 and took the vans away. We were told they would be at our house in the new city the next morning at 6:00. We drove our personal cars to the new city (about 4 hours away) and woke up at 5:00 to be ready for them. The first moving van didn't arrive until 10:00 am. The second moving van didn't arrive until much later after that. They were rushed and didn't follow instructions on where to place boxes. They were literally tossing boxes around and banging furniture into things in their attempt to finish quickly. Some of my china was broken, many of our pieces of furniture had huge scratches or chunks of woods missing. They hit several of the walls and ruined the new paint of them. When it came time for them to leave, we offered a small tip (small, because we weren't overly impressed) to the lead mover and told him to divide it between the 6 movers (three movers in group 1 and the other three in group 2), but to give more to his crew because they worked harder and longer. My husband caught him giving his crew $20 each and pocketing the rest!!!!!! My husband called him out on it. I wouldn't recommend this group to any one. Updating my review because I had another fantastic experience with AM Moving. I had a 1pm-4pm window for the movers to show up, and I got a call around noon. My team of movers had finished the earlier job and wanted to know if they could come rightaway (~12:30pm arrival). I asked if they could come at 1pm, since that is the earliest that I was expecting them, and they honored my request and showed up exactly at 1pm. The movers who helped me today are Rafael, Carson, and Kaleb, and they were amazing. I moved from a 1st floor to a 2nd floor with no elevator. The team was super fast, and they took really good care of my belongings. It was also a really hot day (high of 99 degrees) and there was not one complaint from anyone about the job. Prior to Move Day, I worked with Max on my quote and he made the process of booking the services super easy. I also appreciated the text reminders 5 days before the move and the day before. I am an anxious person and I feared that there would be a no show and I would be stuck with no movers (pretty much up until the movers actually arrived), so I appreciated the reminders, even if they were probably auto-generated. I would absolutely hire AM Moving again for my next move, although I hope that is not for a while. read more

Communication via email and phone was OK for scheduling I was really hopeful to use this company to move items from a window warehouse to my house. This was a very important move- items were large glass doors and pretty pricey. This company was aware of the dimensions and accepted the move for Saturday 1-3pm on Wednesday that week. They were very responsive and felt promising that they would do a great job- we confirmed our move on Wednesday and again on Friday at 11am. However, later in the afternoon on Friday around 2:30pm they called stating they needed to reschedule for Monday giving us less than 24 hours notice. They said they'd callback Friday evening to see if they could still do our move Saturday afternoon but they never called. We assumed it was just rescheduled since they never called back, however, Kent did go to the warehouse to view the doors Saturday at 11am only two hours before our scheduled window for the move to then state that they would not fit in the truck. Unsafe covid practices, expensive and exhausting experience. I will be writing an in depth detailed summary of my experience with this company once I've settled my bill with them and finish my move with another company. After a horrific 9 hour 2 bedroom apartment incomplete move, I refused to pay the entire amount due. Don't get me wrong. I will pay and expect nothing for free, but I will only pay what is reasonably fair. I understand that moves often take much longer than expected but I never imagined a two bedroom apartment taking 9 hours. Only to be incomplete. Their side of the story is that I had oversized furniture and a glass cabinet that was difficult to move. No, you sent a team that was unprepared. After explaining my stance on this DURING the move, they communicated that if i refused to pay, they would send police. That was the last straw. I called after 3 hours into the move to request help. Operations manager never followed up. What happened to customer service? More on that and a detailed timeline on my experience with this company. The next part means more to me than any amount of money I pay this company. I felt it was timely and critical to inform anyone looking for movers that the movers did not comply to wearing masks (after I asked three times). Only one of three men complied but often had his nose exposed. Not only upon arrival did they take off their masks, but didn't wear them in a building that houses senior citizens. I made it VERY clear that they needed to keep their masks on. As someone that routinely sees my extreme at risk parent, I find it disgraceful that despite the terrible experience I had, the worst part is any potential exposure to covid 19. Please consider another mover that offers a safe experience for you and your family. As a side note, the only time I took off my mask was when I went on my patio or used the restroom. Update: operations charged my card for the entire amount without my consent. I never signed the contract. Was told that they would deduct hours off of my move if i would delete this review. This review is a month overdue, but so well deserved! Stop your search if you're looking for a mover - this is the company to go with. From the very beginning, Joe was very knowledgeable, accommodating and professional. He helped me understand the needs of my move, answered all my questions even when it came to storage on the other end, and was so flexible with all the changes due to the snow storm. One thing I really value is companies that treat their employees right and I was happy to see they would not risk their employees' safety to stay on schedule during the freezing storm. The moving team was made up of Luis P, Luis L. and Felix. They were fantastic! Luis L. Was the crew lead and clearly took a lot of pride in his work- he has former experience delivering with high-end furniture stores in Dallas. They were super careful with all of my belongings and I was amazed by how they loaded everything into the moving truck. We even passed them on the highway and we were so happy to see how carefully they were driving - we left a good while after them and know they didn't expect to see us. Price-wise, they were very fair. I received quotes from other companies and this was the most reasonable and clear quote I received. Other quotes were confusing, had additional add-ons in terms of possible fees, and I was unsure what I would pay in the end. This was a long distance move from Dallas to San Antonio and I really value that I understood exactly what I was getting into. I was completely blown away with the way this company moved and took care my belongings! I seriously can't say enough and I'm a very tough critic! Sergio, Felix, and Connor worked at such a great pace and made sure all my belongings were unharmed during the entire move. They are very polite and so patient! My last movers took their time on purpose to make more per hour. I had the same amount of items moved with better professionalism and kindness for a fraction of the cost! I'm still blown away. If you want honest genuine movers that don't have hidden fees and do the job right, book them! We had a great move from Dallas to Austin with AM moving company. Daryl, Brian, Sergio and Jordan were great to work with. They were very respectful of our property and time. True professionals! 3-man strong, skilled crew Arrived on time, and got started quickly. Well stocked with tape, and moving blankets. Crew worked efficiently together and clearly experienced handling a challenging move with awkward equipment and operating loader on their moving truck. Very respectful of freshly refinished wood floors in new home. Took extra care around tight spaces and up and down steep flights of stairs. no damage observed on items moved or departure or arrival residence. I cringe thinking about how move time would have easily doubled and likely damage items and environment going with UHaul and hired helpers. So overwhelmingly happy I decided on AM Moving company. Professional, courteous and friendly movers. Great guys overall. Docked 1 star due to damages to the furniture. Andres, Indio, Pedro Edit: I Reduced more stars due to discovering more severe damages to my furniture while unpacking after movers left. The movers tried their best to consider avoiding any damages to the furniture but their packing methods were lacking. I regrettably should have said something when I saw some of their methodologies but didn't want to be that guy that told them how to do their job. Since they are the professionals, I trusted they knew what they were doing. A few examples: The dents and scratches to my trashcan were caused by them placing their dolly on top of it in the truck. A trashcan might not sound like a big deal but we invested in a more premium one to use as an accent furniture piece, therefore these damages ultimately reduces it's decorative appeal. The most heartbreaking damages are the tears on my headboard leather. My bed is one of my most valuable pieces of furniture and I ensured to inform the movers of that. Unfortunately this did not prevent the damages. I can overlook the small scratches and dents to the wooden parts of the bed but tears to the leather need to be called out. The scrapes, dents and white powder covering my cabinet was caused by them flipping it upside down while moving it. They clarified with me if the cabinet was full and I informed them that yes it was full. By flipping the cabinet upside down, the baking soda inside spilled all over it and also caused the top edges to be scraped. There were more damages but I only shared these three to avoid writing a review more lengthy than it already is and still get the message across. Conclusion: It pains me to write this review since the movers worked so hard and I really appreciated their positive personalities but the company owners and other shoppers need to understand the company's areas of opportunities through honest reviews. read more

I had a fantastic experience with my movers KT, AJ and Jose from AM Moving Company. They communicated with me when they were on their way. I was moving from a one bedroom 3rd floor with stairs to a one bedroom 2nd floor with a service elevator. They were polite and organized, worked together nicely and handled my items with care. I had a couple of heavier pieces and pieces that required tear down and putting back together which they did with no issues. Thank you guys for the hard work and making my move as seamless as possible! It gave me great comfort to know I was in good hands Update: as of 7/30/2020- i just used AM Moving a second time moving out of my 2nd floor apartment. They sent a rockstar team of Joel and Michael to the rescue! All of the communication was great! ( i had made several changes regarding my move and they were great at making adjustments with no issues). I am moving out of state so I ordered two UPack Relocubes because I wasn't sure all of my items would fit in one. These guys worked incredibly hard for 3 hours straight and they were able to successfully get all of my items in one relocube saving me about $400+ dollars. They were polite and took great care of my items (special attention to making sure all of my furniture was protected). I would highly recommend you hire this company for any moves- great or small! Setting up the service online was easy, and I liked that I was able to input the items I had in an inventory. I sat on finalizing the appointment for a while, and the offered me a discounted rate! It was $105/hr for the entire move and a $40 gas/trip free. Andres, Brian, and Javon helped me with my move and they did a really good job. They wrapped everything up which took longer than expected. They informed me after that if I had wanted anything unwrapped to save time then I would have had to tell them prior and signed a waiver. So just a heads up if you want to save some time and money. On-Time Guarantee? Satisfaction Guarantee? Try hours late to arrive...TWICE! We were given a three-hour service window between 1-4 p.m. during which time AM Moving Company's movers were supposed to arrive, according to Kent. They arrived late after 4 p.m. -- no call, no notice prior to me contacting the company for an ETA. (Not a great start...) Once our two rooms' worth of furniture was packed into the truck, we left for our new house but not before confirming the movers made it out of our complex and onto the road safely. We arrived at our house in approximately 30 minutes, and the movers took OVER TWO HOURS to show up! When we asked why they'd been delayed, the movers argued with my wife, and blamed one another, the faulty truck, traffic, etc. We didn't finish until well after 9 p.m. that night. I called less than 24 hours before I needed our house moved to a storage unit. Note that I do not usually operate on short notice but....here we were. Anyway, as luck would have it they had a spot available on Sunday afternoon, did not ask me a bunch of questions about how many boxes and what size this or that and I booked the appointment within minutes. Joe was very professional and friendly over the phone and sent over a quote and confirmation immediately! Can all business transactions be like this?! I mean I booked a move faster than I can get a drink at a Starbucks drive-thru! And I did this without waking my sleeping toddler next to me. I received text messages confirming my move and the movers called me in advance to let me know they had finished another job early and wanted to know if they could start our house sooner than the original time. We agreed on 12 pm and their truck pulled up at 11:55 AM. I love when people are on time! And thank goodness they came early because we had quite a lot of things to move. We had a three man crew. They came with masks for COVID-19 precautions. Everyone was very friendly, polite, and efficient. They took great care of all our furniture, wrapping it, and carefully loading and unloading it. I will be booking them again for the move into our new house, just not at the last minute next time. And I promise to have water bottles or cups for the water cooler this time!
