BEWARE - BAIT-AND-SWITCH PRICING! I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent experience with this company deserves one. I chose Firehouse Movers because of their glowing Google reviews, and their initial estimate was very competitive. Unfortunately, the final bill was a complete shock. To begin with, they insisted on a virtual estimate and refused to come out in person and assess the job. This was a 5000 sq ft home full of furniture, and I wanted the most accurate estimate possible. I asked multiple times for an in-person estimate, but my requests were declined. By moving day, I had sold two-bedroom sets and several other large pieces of furniture that were included in the original estimate. Even with significantly fewer items to move, the final price was more than double the original estimate. On the day of the move, I somehow went from needing two trucks, as stated in the estimate, to four. And from 9 to 17 total man hours. At the end of a long day, my husband just wanted them gone, so he reluctantly paid the bill before they could log anymore hours. When I called to discuss the bill, Firehouse claimed I had verbally approved the additional associated costs over the phone, citing a recording, which was completely false. I have asked multiple times for this recording, but I have not received it. That was not a small miscalculation. Our move was grossly underestimated. This whole experience felt misleading and dishonest. Stay away. read more

A 5 mile move. Hired "professional packers and movers." What could possibly go wrong? After 2 weeks of unpacking ... numerous pieces of broken furniture, fragile pieces packed into boxes whole and coming out broken. Called about ripped upholstery to make a claim ... two weeks of silence. Price was reasonable ... or, would have been had we been packed and moved "professionally". Movers parked in front of my garage door and started unloading. I waited 20 minutes for the driver to show up. When I finally spoke to him about where he should park, he moved his truck just enough to unblock my garage but ended up blocking the garage doors of other tenants. When I confronted him again, he replied, "Worry about your own garage; don't worry about anyone else's." I told him that this was my community and that what affects me affects everyone else as well. Moving day came and John, Kevin and Steven called to let us know they were in route. They were very friendly and moved very quickly and had her all moved in 90 minutes. Dyamon was my first contact and she was great! We went over everything! She knew it was going to be a large job and quoted me accordingly. I met the 3 guys at my storage unit very delayed due to weather. I don't know if the main guy was pissed or just hungover. He made me feel like the move was such a burden for him. He said they would have to call in another crew to help, mind you I went with another moving company to make the first move and they did it in 4 hours with 3 guys no problem! This guy made me feel horrible the whole time I signed for the job to the point that I lied and said I couldn't find the key to the 2nd storage unit just so it would be a smaller job. The other 2 guys were awesome though! They started working right away while the other guy disappeared for like 20 minutes. The whole experience was just awful! I'm a military brat so I have moved a lot and this was by far one of the worst experiences. Movers themselves were hard working, polite and did a great job with our stuff. What I didn't like- we were the "2nd move", but have done previously without issue. This time, they showed up after 4 pm which made moving day frankly awful. We tried to get a "1st move" but didn't work with the timeline needed ( was moving my elderly in-laws) so had to settle for 2nd move of the day. FM was very nice as we spoke multiple times during the day to see the status. But honestly if I knew they would not come till THAT late after a single move (really, one move from 7am till 3:30? I guess it's possible but just highly unlikely) I wouldn't have booked. I would not suggest booking anything but a first move unless you have an extra 6-8 hours to sit around waiting for your movers to show up. read more

I cannot begin to describe how easy our move was thanks to Franco and his team. We've moved a handful of times the last decade, so we've tried just about all the big name brands. They were extremely efficient and treated all of our stuff like it was theirs. They wrapped everything up with both moving blankets and plastic wrap. I was really nervous about moving our brand new nursery furniture, but they moved it perfectly. One of the main reasons I went with Firehouse Movers is because they use the trailer rather than boxed truck, so nothing had to be lifted up or thrown in. They were able to easily take it up and down the small ramp. The price is obviously a bit more expensive than most. It's why we used others in the past, but we had zero damage during this move compared to multiple items broken the last few times we moved. Overall, we don't have to buy new furniture or stress about it, so the price was worth it for us. We will be using Firehouse Movers for our next move! read more

They showed up with 4 people and without my permission upped the labor cost to $229.00 - while I could afford it, this is not good faith and fair dealing! Poor service, quality, and value. We hired firehouse movers to properly wrap and store our furniture items on a moving truck for a move out of state. Upon arrival at our new destination, we realized that the movers had not wrapped half of our white couch and associated pillows; they also did not utilize the blankets that my husband had to purchase to properly wrap items such as our daughter's new wooden bureau. Since reaching out to the firehouse movers, we have yet to make any progress on retribution, being refunded for the lack of quality service, or have this issue promptly remedied. I would never recommend using this company. We are completely and utterly disgraced with the lack of customer service and follow up. We still do not have a couch to sit on.
