Unfortunately, my TV was damaged during the move (unclear if it was from the POD, but I doubt that since the TV was against the king size mattress). One of the movers later stated that he had noticed damage to the TV box when he unloaded the tv from POD but did not bring it to my attention at the time, which was very disappointing. However, the owner Joey, took the situation seriously and handled it with genuine empathy and accountability. I was extremely frustrated from the move (it's really a lot to handle) and Joey was kind and patient as he listed to me explain what happened. He suspended the team member involved, made it clear that he wanted to put the customer first, and worked with me to make things right. After I provided the original receipt for my TV, he sent me a check for its full original purchase price and did not waste time to go through insurance. I didn't buy additional insurance, so at most if Joey had went through insurance, I would have received $40/$50 back for my tv at $0.60/lb. He said he wanted to make sure we reached an agreement that felt fair. I truly appreciate Joey's customer first mindset. Although the damage was frustrating, I greatly appreciated how Joey responded. He's been in business for 25 years and stated that accidents happen and what he cares for the most is customer satisfaction. This was my third time using their service to move a 1B1B apartment. The first two times went fine…read more-- each took about 3 to 3.5 hours, and that's why I trusted them again. But this time? Total disaster. They charged me almost 8 HOURS for the exact same size move. From 9 AM to 4:45 PM -- are you kidding me? They didn't even start moving until around 9:20 or 9:30, and then moved like they were taking a casual stroll in the park. I asked them why this time was so ridiculously slow compared to the last two. Their excuse? "No elevator" at my old place and "your stuff is in small boxes and bags." That is complete nonsense. My new place has an elevator, and I used larger boxes this time to make it easier -- unlike the last move where neither location had elevators. And yet, that move only took 3.5 hours. There is no possible reason this one should take nearly EIGHT HOURS unless you're deliberately dragging your feet. And get this -- I even helped them move! I literally carried stuff myself while they moved slowly and inefficiently. When I brought this up to their supervisor, instead of acknowledging the poor service, he blamed me and said I had "too many things." Give me a break. It's a 1B1B -- and you guys have moved it twice before in half the time! I even attached a photo comparing the invoices from both moves -- one was 3.5 hours, this one nearly 8. Their supervisor had the audacity to say he'd refund me for 1 hour if I didn't leave a bad review -- that tells you everything you need to know. He knew it was shady but just wanted to shut me up. Before moving day, they had the opportunity to assess the size of our home and determine what equipment would be needed. Despite that, they arrived with a truck that was too small to complete the move. Instead of having a second truck available, a large portion of our day was spent searching for a U-Haul. The U-Haul they eventually rented was also too small, and the movers repeatedly pressured my husband to transport our belongings in our personal van because they didn't have enough room. What should have been a one-day move turned into a two-day move because AB failed to arrive properly equipped. The problems didn't end there. The movers lost the hardware needed to reassemble our refrigerator, leaving it unusable until the end of the second day. As a result, the refrigerated and frozen food we had carefully packed in coolers spoiled. We submitted receipts documenting our loss. Our Lovesac AnyTable was gouged and chipped during the move, and numerous other items were scratched or damaged. Instead of placing boxes and furniture into the correct rooms as we paid for, many rooms were simply filled with random stacks of belongings. Even worse, the garage was used as a dumping area, with heavy boxes, furniture, and miscellaneous items piled together. We have had to move many of those items ourselves just to unpack and determine what else may have been damaged. After I submitted a formal claim, AB did send a representative to inspect the refrigerator and the other damage. He looked everything over, told us the necessary refrigerator parts would be ordered, and made it seem as though he would be back the following week to complete the repairs. That was more than two weeks ago. Since then, we have repeatedly called, left messages, sent additional photos, and provided everything they requested. We have received virtually no communication, our calls have not been returned, and we have since learned the refrigerator parts were lost. We were never proactively informed of that or given a timeline for resolving the issue. Mistakes can happen during any move. What has been the most disappointing is the lack of accountability, communication, and follow-through. We paid for professional movers so we wouldn't have to finish the job ourselves or spend weeks chasing the company to honor its commitments. At this point, I cannot recommend AB based on our experience. I sincerely hope they will finally complete the repairs, resolve our claim, and stand behind the service they promised.

From the first conversation with the representative when I called, I knew I was in good hands. The conversation was calm, every step was explained, emails and communication was fluid thru moving day. The truck was much bigger than I was expecting as well as the ramp placement at the side of the truck vs the rear which made me nervous, but luckily we were able to make it work in my apartment complex. Sully and Kenan were friendly and understanding overall. Asked questions along the way as needed, and took some of the stress away from what typically comes with a moving day (especially when it comes to this being my first time moving things into a storage unit). I do have to note that the move may have finished sooner had one movers not been out of commission by his lunch choice longer than expected... Also, seeing the feet of my couch during the move has me a bit nervous about how they'll look when I remove my furniture from the unit. From a few feet away when I saw them on the cargo elevator and being placed into the unit, they seemed like they were angled and scratched a bit from positioning during transport. The email after my move stated that I can inform them if I notice any damages, whenever it may be, so I'll have to do a thorough check when I next access or move-out of the unit. Other than that, I would for sure use them again, possibly even for when it's time for that move-out. I chose Firehouse Movers because of their glowing Google reviews, and their initial estimate was very competitive. Unfortunately, the final bill was a complete shock. To begin with, they insisted on a virtual estimate and refused to come out in person and assess the job. This was a 5000 sq ft home full of furniture, and I wanted the most accurate estimate possible. I asked multiple times for an in-person estimate, but my requests were declined. By moving day, I had sold two-bedroom sets and several other large pieces of furniture that were included in the original estimate. Even with significantly fewer items to move, the final price was more than double the original estimate. On the day of the move, I somehow went from needing two trucks, as stated in the estimate, to four. And from 9 to 17 total man hours. At the end of a long day, my husband just wanted them gone, so he reluctantly paid the bill before they could log anymore hours. When I called to discuss the bill, Firehouse claimed I had verbally approved the additional associated costs over the phone, citing a recording, which was completely false. I have asked multiple times for this recording, but I have not received it. That was not a small miscalculation. Our move was grossly underestimated. This whole experience felt misleading and dishonest. Stay away.
