They and their main and regional offices all responded extremely quickly to my complaint and wanted to make it right. That's very much appreciated. I think a great solution would be to not bury the fine print so far from the pricing but put a short notice below the pricing for each unit - simply that price is subject to change at anytime with 15 days notice. I certainly would've paused and considered other options. Original one star review: Bait and switch pricing. Increased my rent 65% after less than 3 months with only 20 days notice. You have to scroll down 6 pages to find the fine print that says they can change pricing at any time with 15 days notice. This is a summer storage unit for my daughter's dorm and we're not local so it wouldn't make sense for us to fly out and move to another facility. Will never do business with them again. Utterly ridiculous and shady business practice.

WHO PAYS FOR MOTHS??…read more WARNING: DO NOT STORE YOUR ITEMS AT THIS STORAGE UNLESS YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH: 1.) MOTH INFESTATION 2.) RATE INCREASE 3.) $20 PENALTY FEE FOR NOT PAYING ON TIME, DUE TO SEE #1. This is my first time using a storage space and the last. My items arrived clean and pest free April 1. They were to be stored while I was out of the country. I am still out of the country and it's been extremely stressful having to leave my items knowing there is a moth infestation, and no one concerned to check out the issue and ensure the infestation is gone. I noticed the moths ONE DAY before flying out. I notified the Manager, Patrice, who provided moth traps, which I placed. While I was away, she tossed a bag of moth balls on top of my unit. She has been nice and did what she could, but far more action needed to be taken in order to provide a clear, firm answer that the moth infestation was gone. When I returned 2 months later, the traps were covered in moths (see photos). The toxic chemical gas from the bag of moth balls, has permeated all of my personal belongings -- fabric clothing, leather jackets, et al. Everything will need to be dry cleaned. $$$ Again, who in their right mind would be expected to pay for an infestation of insects??? Zero regard for my items which have been infested with moths since MAY and now reek of gaseous moth balls. This is a health hazard!!!!! Also, they will ask you for a glowing review on day 1 of your move in, which makes no sense, since it is only time and how things are handled that speaks to how the facility is run and the cleanliness. Following my review, of course management says "sorry" and their "head manager", Marisela Navarrete, sitting in another office who has never once gone to visit my unit, sent an email with a bulleted bandaid list while she has never once gone to my unit to resolve the situation. When they increased my rate I complained, so they gave a $25 credit, but no resolution. Since when does $25 get rid of moths??? What a JOKE. * Providing multiple garbage bags to assist with the disposal of affected materials. * Providing eight moth traps over a three-month period as an additional measure to help address your concerns. * Providing a $25 customer service credit related to your moth concerns. * Approving a temporary rate adjustment to $90.00 as an additional accommodation.

Pros: America, in the office, is efficient and answers all questions quickly. We had a problem…read morewith the lock, Elvin (maintenance) was accessible and responded quickly. Hallways are clear, lights are motion censored, obvious climate controlled. Plenty of carts to use for your loads. Cons: America gave me a map of facility but such tiny print made it difficult to use. Simple reflective numbers as you round corners would be extremely helpful. The pad for access code, the hand sensor to open the door leaving, the elevator buttons, have all seen better days. America was busy in the facility and out of office when we arrived. The sign on door said 1245 return, almost hour and half later. Called the facility number, remote customer service bot, etc. America did call us about 20 mins later. Explained that when she is rounding, she can't be contacted by customer service (no beeper, cell, walkie-talkie) etc. That's an issue for customers needing assistance ie needing a lock cut off or someone needing a storage unit tour. My sister was clearing out her storage unit. We had movers scheduled. It was a smooth process after a rocky start. America is an asset to this facility.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS BUZZARD OF BUSINESS…read more i've been a customer for years and have had many other storage units/companies in the past, NONE have been as disreputable, dishonest and negligent as ANY cube"smart" facility - NO MATTER WHO THE "manager" is supposed to be. the FRAUDULENT policies come from the TOP down and the CEO; chris marr, clearly doesn't care about customers, employees or the law surrounding his company. it doesn't matter which facility, the one I hired is on Oakton St, in Skokie.

They tell me there is more parking coming out back. Entrance from back is needed too for at least foot traffic. This will help when the main entrance is full of vehicles. Jason is the guy who runs this place and he goes out of his way to make this an attractive option for storage. He cares, he tries his best within the constraints he has with corporate SSS. I now have 3 units here. I think that says the most. I had one when I posted my original review and despite the shortcomings I hit, Jason has earned my business. This place isn't perfect but it is better than the many I've dealt with in the last 4-5 years.

Unit was broken into and the robbers stole jewelry and other precious heirlooms - insurance covered nothing. If you store there you need receipts or appraisals for every single item- oh and they don't cover jewelry at all. There was no camera on the row where my unit was. When I moved out I saw that there is a camera now. 11 units were broken into and oddly only two in my row. Kind of seems like an inside job since they track each visit. I hardly ever went there. Plus the units broken into weren't consecutive and seemed more selective. The whole experience was a giant ripoff and a terrible waste of money. Plus I am certain they did nothing to investigate into who did this! Even though I filed a police report as I am sure the other 10 victims did I have no faith CPD looked into this. All in all - this is a terrible place to trust your belongings
