Picked this location and business based on all the positive reviews. After going in vetting to different places ultimately I picked this business. My 1st visit was really good as Maria showed me around and explained how the units worked. Upon hearing that I would need my storage unit for a couple more weeks Maria extended my reservation to keep my rate and that really helped. On move in day I was given a phone call the day before, to check to make sure what time I was going to arrive. I was able to reschedule my time when I realised that the time slot didn't work any longer. The office staff were very flexible with helping me out. I was able to complete the whole moving process in less than 30 minutes. Overall I am happy with my unit I end up getting a 10 by 7 and a 1/2. I do like the ease of unloading my S UV into their docking station. I appreciate the climate control as it can get really hot during the summer and I was worried about my electronics. This was the true reason I picked this location even though about $50 more per month than the location about 2 miles away. All in all super excited about the fringe benefits of this location, To include utilization of a moving truck. The nice thing is that they allow you to use the moving truck up to 2 weeks from your moving date. This alone is going to save me a $150. read more

The staff, especially Diane, were extremely helpful and worked with me. My son originally rented this space, and I had to take it over due to his illness. I recently had to empty the contents and have them shipped to another location. CNS helped me in every way they could including providing me with extra boxes, packaging tape, and the use of a truck to transport them to a shipper. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, you'd think it was a scam and they're just trying to steal your stuff. This place was actually recommended by ANOTHER storage company in Chicago, so you know that there's something legit about it. It's not much to look at when you drive by. In fact, if you're not looking for it, you'll miss it. The facility is huge and environmentally controlled. To get to my room I walk through aisles of giant crate-like structures, like I'm walking through Area 51 looking for the Ark of the Covenant. It's a little pricier than usual, but it's clean and secure and the 10x7 space I rented easily fits an entire one bedroom apartment. The dock is pretty big, and easily fits two trucks. They also give you a key code you can use when staff isn't available. Props for the ownership. They are very friendly and walk you though the rental process in a non-pushy non-judgmental way. A month after I rented my storage room, I lost my lock keys. Usually it costs $25 to cut your lock and they give you another one to replace it. When I came in to have mine cut, they didn't charge me. The guy said to forget about it. Despite the weird location, I would recommend Chicago Northside Storage, because I feel secure that my belongings are safe, and they genuinely care enough to not let some thieving bastard wander in with a pair of bolt cutters. read more

Good prices, very friendly and helpful staff, good location and good enough facilities. FREE move in truck (which was a lot more useful than we first thought it would be). We've been very happy with this storage facility for about 9 months now. The most remarkable part (and the reason why I took the time to write a review) is that twice now I've had to call and change my credit card number for our account. I hate calling anywhere on the phone because it takes forever to get anything accomplished. BUT both times that I called to change my CC number it took literally less than 50 seconds for the entire call. Seriously, both times after the call ended I looked at the call timer in disbelief. How does that even happen?! This is the best storage facility, and the and the best staff that I have ever had the pleasure of working with. The positive experience started with my first inquiry on Yelp, and the excellent service never stopped. I am ashamed it has taken me so long to write a review. I thought it couldn't be real. You sign up and you get 5 FREE boxes, FREE tape, and a FREE lock. Unbelievable. Oh, and a truck to move you in. Seriously? How is this possible. The people are friendly to top it off. It was unfortunate that the truck had broken down on the day I was going to move in. BUT they let me use it to move out because of it. That was actually way more convenient for me! When I was satisfied with everything they offered and the price, Marty asked "oh, are you a student?" Yeah. 10% discount on what was already the cheapest option WITHOUT the freebies. Marty also happened by when my friend and I were moving my stuff out. I was figuring out what to do with my scooter in the vastness of the truck. "Oh, hey, would you like some rope?" Again... free. I'd honestly be shocked to know that they made any money off of me at all. There is no downside. I don't even care if you have to travel a bit. After all, you have the truck. The boxes were all jumbled up and most unmarked, it was looking futile and then Umberto who works there offered to help me. He found the box and even helped me to the car with it. I had some furniture delivered to the storage facility thinking I would be in town to unload it and put in my storage area only to find out it was coming in on the weekend I was going to be out of town. I called up the facility and talked to Marty and he said no problem that he would unload it for me and hold it until I got back in to town. How nice was that, so accommodating he was. So when i finally got back into town I went over to pick up furniture that was delivered and Pamela was there and knew all about it. She showed us where it was stored. It took us about one hour to move it. Realizing it took Marty that much time I went to tip him and Pamela and they wouldn't take anything for their time! On top of that you get free boxes, tape and truck. I would highly recommend them. read more

Where do I begin??? By far the BEST storage experience I've had. I used to rent at Public Storage(never again)and recently and Extra Space Storage(which I cannot complain about their service) but when I started contact with Marty and Eric of Chicago Northside Storage, it was the best! 1st -Free Boxes, Free Tape, Free Lock and FREE TRUCK??????? Really? who does that??? No one and that by far is a small incentive to rent here. 2nd -The service!!! this is the GREAT Incentive... very understandable, I normally get out of work late during the week and would make it home close to 6pm not giving me enough time but Marty was able to let me use the truck a little pass closing time and on top of that gave me access to my storage box after the closing time due to my work time restraint. 3rd- My box in located in the new section of the storage facility so for me is easier access for me. I highly recommend to check them out if you want to have an experience rather then having a place store your belongings. read more

Horrible experience all the way around. First, uhaul sent me there telling me my first month was free, which it wasn't. Second, I had the unit for three and a half months with no access code. I was told during the first 30 days that I was given the code an did not revive it until I moved out. Lastly, although I was paid up until October 31st, Marty cut my lock on October 24th. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone that's how horrible they are. read more

We have used 3 different storage facilities in recent years, and Chicago Northside is by far the best. Clean, easy access, trouble-fee rental process, free boxes and tape (woot!). A great experience overall. Very friendly and personable. I stored my things for a one bedroom apartment for about a year here. Access was easy if I needed to get something as well as for moving in and out. I was able to use their moving truck both for moving in and moving out. I lost my key to my lock at one point and they were very helpful with this and the price to remedy this was extremely reasonable.
