Robin was a very nice & prefessional worker who was very helpful as far as customer service. However, I don't understand why I have been a long-time customer and my rate has went tfrom $150 a month to $300 a month. Is this a punishment? Is the economy that horrible that you have to charge me double? I will definitely be moving to another storage as soon as I can. public storage increases prices after you move in. . they give no grace period on any amount you might owe and quickly add fees and then they are quick to threaten the sale of your property not even two weeks past the bill due date. I do not recommend public storage . read more

Storage units are a commodity now...this one was convenient for us, nothing to complain about the facilities. Didn't appreciate the frequent raises in the rent (25-50% per hit some times), but once you are in, its kind of hard to move again. But just wait until you move out. I was out on the Morning of Dec 1...was told I had to pay for the whole month because they wouldn't pro-rate the time. 4 years in, paid on time, and NO amount of discussion was going to get us any consideration. I put my lock back on the door...didn't want to let them rent it if I had to pay the whole month. Seemed like extortion to me. It go even better...I had to leave for business on short notice, when I go back was locked out. Had to pay an almost 50% late fee on top of everything just to get out. I was hard pressed to find a storage unit in less than 24 hours and Public Storage had the perfect size and it was on sale! I was able to rent it for the month and the vacating process was made suuuuper easy by Robin M. She was incredibly sweet and personable, and made my whole exhaustive move out date so much better! read more

I think it's pretty disheartening and worrisome that through this whole pandemic no one was allowed to charge rent never mind raise rent yet public storage was doing so Not to mention at this current time when people are probably being sent homeless and once again public storage finds that they need to raise the rent once again? What ever you do don't trust them with your belongings they will let your storage unit get broken into the tell the police that they have no footage or clues as to who it could have been that broke into my unit. Now they the nerve to actually claim the unit was out for auction and when I asked where said they couldn't tell me where. Which is illegal on so many levels it's unreal. I searched all the Storage units in Wells Branch and came to Public Storage on Owen Tech because of three things; the location is in my neighborhood, the security is superb and the staff are AWESOME! I first met with John before Christmas who showed me the facility and was so personable and energized about the place that he just made me want to belong. He showed me the security features, told me that he does a property check several times a day, showed me the type and size of unit I was interested in and thanked me for giving them an opportunity to serve me. I reserved a unit online to get the special pricing (recommended) that same day and John called me when he saw the reservation come through to make an appointment to complete the application. He again thanked me for choosing Public Storage. I went in yesterday for my appointment and met Trena the onsite manager. She was so friendly and personable and gracious, escorting me to the unit (the same 10x5 (which is shallow but wide for easier access) that John had shown me) to place my lock; showing me how to set it and make sure it was locked. When it came time to complete the application and pay she discovered that in my haste to reserve online I had inadvertently reserved a 5x10 which is deep and narrow instead. I double checked my online reservation confirmation and sure enough I had made a mistake and reserved the 5x10. She said the 10x5 would be more expensive than the one I had reserved so I went online to see if there was a 10x5 available for the special pricing; there was not. I explained that a 5x10 would not work for me because I need ready access quite often and stacking things deep in the back meant removing lots of stuff to get to the things in the back, where the shallower but wider unit would allow easier access. She spent a few minutes looking around the available units and VOILA! found one for a couple $$ LESS than the one I thought I'd reserved! She is AWESOME! This kind of personal service is missing in most businesses these days and is especially refreshing to find in my back yard. Both John and Trena exemplify Great customer service and Professionalism. Bait and switch so we didn't rent the unit. The 800 number I originally called said I can use my own approved lock, but the local place said we must buy their $20 lock. I tried to call the 800 number back to seek clarification, but the 800 number routes my phone to the Owen-Tech automatically. I can't even call the national number from my phone!!!!! Now I read that we would be required to buy their insurance, and they insist on automatic billing! Glad I found this is not for us before I became obligated! read more

So, I have a family member that has passed away in another city and in an attempt to get her place cleared out, I hired movers and needed to find a storage unit near my house so at my own pace, i could go through her stuff and sort it out. As you can imagine, this has been a stressful time. This public storage center is new and close to my house, so very convenient. It was my first and only choice for those reasons. I had looked up the prices online, but went into the office to meet with the employees and see the space. When I arrived, I was met by Trena who in fact was very kind. I told her what I was looking for and she took me to tour the space. I had told her that I was looking for a 10 x 10 and she took me to see a first floor unit and then showed me a 10 x 15. When we finished, she asked me if I had a reservation and when I said no, she advised me to make one online because the prices were cheaper, so I did. I went straight back to work and made a reservation which was showing up for $89 a month. Shortly there after, I received a call from John to make an appointment to come in and sign the paperwork. Both employees were nice, BUT....today when I went in to sign my lease, I was told by Trena that the unit she had shown me was $40 more a month than the $89 that showed online because it was a first floor unit. When I reminded her that that unit was what she showed me, she simply told me not for that price. I feel like I was bamboozled! Due to this confusion, I am having to pay the movers extra to take my sister's belongings to the 2nd floor. Trina knew today that it was going to cost me more for the movers and offered to hold the doors open and allow them to use the extra dollies, great, but that doesn't pay the movers for this foul up. In the situation i'm in with the movers already in route and just the overall stress of the entire situation, I didn't have the energy to stand there and fight my case or go and find another unit, but I'm not happy with this and don't feel that we are off to a good start....AT ALL! You know what sucks? This location is clean and the employees are very friendly and helpful. My beef is not with this particular location, but the fact that after only 6 months of renting my unit here, Public Storage DOUBLED my monthly rent. No reason given, and it was absolute hell trying to talk to anyone on the phone at corporate. I am moving out because the parent company treats their customers like garbage. read more

Worst customer service. They will call you real quick about your payments but fail to relay important information about your account or unit. The guy I spoke with was very unapologetic about misinformation I was given by a staff member! Not to mention they increases in prices every 4-6 months! Tre knew his business and got us checked in quickly and efficiently. Good security protects the facility; motion sensors provide excellent lighting and guard against dark corners; climate control should keep us mildew free. I love the people that work at this location. Very friendly. That being said I have been a renter for little over a year and my "rent" has gone up twice! The cost to move wouldn't be worth it so I must stay and just keep paying the higher rent. Not happy about that. You would think that the longer you stay the better the deal. read more

Worst customer service. Could not be a worse initial experience. Public Storage calls me and tells me there is not a storage unit available for the reservation and refuses to honor the online price at Public Storages own website. I did have all the details in my reservation. 5 dollars below what she asks. After that she rudely hangs up the phone. I spent the next 45 minutes trying to confirm my reservation. I call the central office that they 22 units available of the booked / reserved type. They also tell me my reservation is valid. I loved how fast and efficient Ahad and Trena were. I showed up 15 minutes before closing and they were super friendly and helpful. They even stayed late to help me look for my cellphone that was was lost in my handbag. You just don't get better customer service than that.
