Caesar Salad

Had a decent meal at this restaurant tonight. The menu on the previous reviews was not available. Very limited options. The Caesar salad was great tho a little difficult to eat as u had to cut it up yourself. It came with their special bread in two wedges. Our dinners were were the BBQ shrimp again with huge piece of bread for dipping. The sauce was a bit over powering but hearty. The wine and cocktail list was perfect blend of all types. We had dinner at 6:45 pm and unfortunately the music provided in the restaurant contrasted with the live music in the entrance and trying to enjoy either was impossible.

This restaurant was in our hotel so an easy choice. There was lots of seating and a live band. We were able to get seated right away on a weekday evening. The food was good - we got the chicken and meatloaf Wellingtonand both were great. We didn't try the drinks but they looked good. They were accommodating for substitutions and allergies. Our server was very busy (I think she might have has the whole restaurant to serve) so there wasn't much interaction but I don't fault her for that as she was hustling!

Public service is just meh". Public service is located inside of the NOPSI hotel on Baronne. The food has never been that great so there's that. I do love my sweet bartenders who always know what to make as soon as I walk in the door. Shoutout to my guy Chris who always hooks up a great drink and my girl Ashely who handles the restaurant w| grace. I would go here for a nice drink, food, no in deed. Allegedly, there is a new chef in the kitchen, still doesn't help the fact that the food isn't great. I believe this place needs a big refresh.

Amazing whiskey selection here! HUGE SHOUTOUT to the lovely ERIN JUPITER for the wonderful customer service and hospitality at Public Service! She truly went above and beyond during service and I could not thank her enough for my experience at the bar. First impressions are important right? She excelled and delivered to a T and I will forever remain loyal to the NOPSI Hotel. Thank you again Erin! You are the best HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! UNTIL THEN!! ^-^

A very overpriced restaurant inside the NOPSI hotel. I suppose you could go for the convenience of it. The food was generally good but it appears I got overcharged $9 beverage fee for just water. I didn't find out til later. The service was just ok. If anything, just got there for the bread and jam. On the plus side, there's usually live music and the ambience is pretty peaceful and serene.

Happy hour here is 4-6pm, and both the drinks and staff are amazing. I was well taken care of and had great conversation with the bartenders. The vibes here are classy, yet casual, and the music choices were great. I'm definitely adding them to my Happy Hour rotation.

My husband and I stayed at the NOPSI for a few days while visiting NOLA, this restaurant and bar is attached to the hotel. We got a few drinks from the bar during our stay and got some brunch before heading to the airport. The service was fantastic 10/10, Miss Ella was our waitress and she was very sweet. My bacon was super crispy and my husband loved his French toast. Also their prices are very reasonable.

Here I'm drinking a grand Hennessy; must try it ! It's Hennessy, grand mariner , moscato and pineapple juice.

The bartender , Reggie was top tier ! The food was mediocre; needs more options and make them local cuisines ! I had fun here with the amazing mixologist . He was sooo sweet and catered to my requests even made me a special house juice

This place served our best bites in New Orleans! We went during Mardi Gras, and service was still tip-top. As a former server, I was impressed with how much the staff helped one another, ensuring prompt, calm service. I had a well-balanced dirty martini first- definitely get a drink while you're here. The Caesar salad was the best I've ever had! Crisp, lemony, perfect. I also had shrimp and grits, which I don't even like normally, which were a hit as well.

Just your basic shrimp pasta. With barely any shrimp.

We planned to have dinner here and was seated in a casual area with lower tables. While nice to sit for a casual drink was not up to par for parties who planned to dine in. Our first server we asked to move had declined our request. Stating there wasn't any room to accommodate. Which to be fair is fair when it's a Saturday night. However, we had made reservations and was astonished this wasn't an accommodation for a party they knew was coming in ahead of time. Thankfully, my friend went up to the host to request a table change, and was eventually accommodated with a booth. Booth can sit 6 people comfortably and 7 was a tad squish so they immediately offered an ottoman for someone to sit in the end. Food was delicious, most of us ordered the steak and frites.

However, a few of our drinks took longer than expected to arrive, which temporarily paused the fun and conversation while we wondered where they were. That aside, the staff were all very pleasant. You'll find street parking and there were some parking garages within walking distance.

The highlight of the meal was easily the CALAS appetizer. The snapper pastrami brought a wonderful smoky depth that paired beautifully with the horseradish cream, and it was one of the few dishes that felt balanced, intentional, and memorable. A genuinely excellent start. Things became more disappointing once the entrees and cocktails arrived. The Rohan duck breast itself was cooked very well -- tender, properly rendered, and clearly prepared with care -- but what was never communicated by the staff was just how sweet the overall composition of the dish would be. Pairing that with cocktails that also leaned heavily sweet made the entire meal feel one-note and overwhelming by the midpoint of dinner. The red beans and rice suffered from the same issue. Despite the spice topping, the dish skewed surprisingly sweet and didn't complement the duck at all. What frustrated me most was that this felt entirely avoidable. At a restaurant with a cocktail reputation this strong, I would expect the wait staff to guide guests toward drinks that balance the meal rather than amplify the sweetness already present in multiple courses. Instead, no recommendations or warnings were offered, and the meal suffered because of it. I was especially underwhelmed by the Harlequin cocktail, which seems to receive a massive amount of online hype. In practice, it simply didn't justify the reputation. It wasn't bad, but it lacked the complexity and "wow" factor you would expect from a signature drink that's so heavily talked about. Overall, there are flashes of excellence here, particularly in the appetizer course and technical preparation, but the lack of thoughtful service and pairing guidance made the experience feel far less polished than advertised.

To be clear, I don't care about the money, but I value the good energy I receive in NOLA. The oysters and the other item I got were mediocre. But then when I left, I saw a sign outside saying a dozen oysters were on special during the Happy Hour period I was there in for $12. So they looked me in the eye and decided to rob me (not of money, of human decency) instead of letting me know about the special. Stay away from this crappy place, there are countless cool people and joints in this wonderful town.
