We came to the stockyards for date night with no plan but lucked upon this spot. It was busy with an expected 60 minute wait but they hit us in within 20. We were sat upstairs in the mezzanine area which was pretty quiet and cozy. We started with the pimento cheese, which was good, it has a different flavor than I'm accustomed to but tasty nonetheless. For entrees I had the 16oz bone in ribeye and she had the chicken fried steak. My ribeye came with a side salad and mashed, hers with mashed and greens. Everything was delicious! The server was on top of his game. Kept the glasses full and checked on us without hovering. This is a cool spot, we will definitely be back...

Really enjoyable time with a chill vibe while letting our feet rest from all the walking! The bartender made from great drinks, from old fashions to my amaretto whiskey sour and the corn bread was so flavorful. We split the steak frites and the chimi on it was the highlight, along with the fries. Appreciate the kitchen for splitting the meal for us! The steak was good but the center was pushing more rare than medium though didn't impact it enough to say anything since it still tasted great (it's just a texture thing for me). Would love to stop in next time we're visiting to try the fried green tomatoes lol!

Apologies for the poor quality photos, but an amazing time! Our waiter, Ethan, was so sweet. Made plenty of food suggestions, interchanged our utensils quietly without interrupting our conversations, and even had our meals come portioned for us - we shared two meals. We thought it was so thoughtful and meticulous. The steak frites (we swapped for mashed potato's to be gluten free) were delicious! The chimichurri sauce was amazing on this medium rare steak... so juicy yet so crispy on the outside. The grilled romaine heart salad had bacon, balsamic vinegar, avocado, chicken and pork on it.... GOSH amazing. Thoroughly impressed. 10/10 would go again.

Wife and I ate here after the Christmas parade because every other place was very crowded. We were seated upstairs within a few minutes and our waitress came over immediately to take our drink orders. I ordered a cup of gumbo and it was really bad. The rice was under cooked and there was very little flavor. For entrée I ordered the Steak fritz. I ordered my steak medium and it came med rare and the chimichurri was really bland, it added nothing to the steak flavor. The price was very reasonable and the staggering was very good.

Arrived in the evening for a reservation upstairs, which apparently closes for seating an hour before the business closes. My reservation was set via the Resy app which didn't note the rule. Disappointing since other reviews mention upstairs to be the prime real estate. The steak was good, the chimichurri was phenomenal and fries were yummy. The draft beer system (CO2 issue) was out of service for the evening so the waiter kindly offered anything in bottles/cans as to not disappoint with a poorly poured draft. The waiter was very friendly and receptive. Between the reserved space not being honored and instead being stashed in the cozy corner (to the right after entering), a couple forgotten requests by the waiter, slow food delivery for a nearly empty seeming establishment with plenty of reservation availability, and limited beer options outside of the few draft options; wouldn't return.

Stopped in on a Sunday event day and did not have a wait. The restaurant is very cute! Our waitress was very pleasant and the food was tasty! Service was slow though -- table check-ins had a good bit of time in between and we had one entree come out way before others which wasn't great.

Went for dinner on a Saturday night, it was very crowded but thankfully we had reservations. Our waiter was friendly as was the other staff. The restaurant had a warm atmosphere with dim lighting and was very clean. We ordered fried green tomatoes as an appetizer, my dinner was trout with beans and my husband ordered shrimp and grits, everything was delicious! Cant wait to eat there again!

This was our first hanging out in the Fort Worth Stockyards and we came here to celebrate my kid's 15th birthday. We made reservations at the Provender Hall. It was very easy to make reservations on their website and they even send a reminder email. Free parking is very limited in this area but they have plenty of paid parking. You can pay to park until 2am or overnight. It was an easy walk and there are a lot of restaurants and stores in the facility. We got to the restaurant a little early but we were still seated almost immediately. There is seating upstairs and downstairs. We chose upstairs but learned later they only have bathrooms downstairs. It is a cute vibe, western feel. Our waitress was Fernanda. She was friendly and answered our questions about the menu. I feel like she had a large section to work because for a few requests we had to ask twice. We chose two appetizers, deviled eggs and pork rinds. For our entrees we got the chopped beef sandwich, the turkey club sandwich and the grilled trout with hoppin jack. I also got an adult beverage the spiced pear old fashioned. The deviled eggs were good and I appreciated they were made without meat. My husband loved the pork rinds he thought they were flavored really well. My kid liked her sandwich especially the bacon, my husband thought the chopped beef was just ok, he said it was dry. My trout was cooked perfectly but the plating was not ideal. They had the rice in the middle of the trout and the black eyed peas were underneath. Also the black eyed peas seemed really small but it was good. I would definitely get it again. My drink was amazing, it didn't have a cherry but a sliver of pear. For my daughter's birthday they bought out a piece of chocolate cake with a candle. Overall we enjoyed our experience and would come back if we are in the stockyards.

Great bar with gluten free items clearly labeled. Good drinks I am told. Great frozen margaritas. I got the ribs and it was pricey but good. I was told they are known for steaks but personally I just love ribs

This is my second time and second review of this place. This time it was amazing the my waitress Javel was very attentive unlike the waiter I had last time. The food was also amazing which wasn't a problem last time. Thanks for improving! Love the outdoor area and watching all the traffic of Stockyards

Ask the Community - Provender Hall

Is there a happy hour? if so what are the details- what are the days and times?

There is one! The limited food menu didn't seem less expensive, but the (few HH) cocktails are several dollars off. Excellent meal and drinks though! You can see the current HH details on the Provender website on the menu page.

Are the menu options the same for dinner and lunch?

Most recently we opted for some pancakes . Overall the quantity you get for the price is good but the overall quality is not always consistent. The first time we came my husband had piping hot mashed potatoes while mine were almost cold on one side. The next time we came the fries were no longer home fries but just your regular frozen variety. The time after that, one of the chicken fried steaks was a little gummy at the bottom, probably from an uneven fry. This is not to say everything else is bad, they just seem to have an inconsistent cook. Pancakes are good though. Service is typically okay, just like anywhere it depends on your server. If you happen to be seated in a... non assigned area... you may not get the most attentive service and flagging down a different server will just have to do. The restaurant itself is spacious with plenty of seating. They also serve pies, giant cookies, and brownies. I do recommend really looking at the pies since the servers don't always know what's in the fridge, so when they say "thats a lemon pie' you may end up with a Buttermilk slice like we did. The brownies are also... not good... so I really don't recommend them. They don't really taste like anything... Overall an okay country kitchen, not overly bad but also not the best. They could use some tweaks and better quality control.

So we were able to get one nice full plate of breakfast and then lunch was served at 11I believe and we also got to try the lunch buffet as well. I love that they have a lot of vegetable options because I am a pescatarian and don't eat meat besides fish. Regardless, if you have breakfast, lunch or both they charge the same amount, 15 dollars. They are open from 7am until 2pm. They only do the buffet on the weeknd. But if you order from the menu, the serving sizes are also very large, they are also open on the holidays. So if you don't want to cook, this would be a great place to check out, especially if you have family in town as they have a lot of tables that seat large parties. The operational execution is tight, and the staff is fantastic, but the real draw is the menu--simply a carnivorous delight of high-quality steaks and wild game specialties. We kicked off the night with a trio of phenomenal starters: the wild boar ribs tossed in their signature BBQ sauce, the elk sliders layered with sweet blueberry jam, and the rabbit-rattlesnake sausage served over a crispy manchego rosti with crème fraîche. While every bite was great, that sausage was an absolute standout flavor combination. Next up was a bowl of traditional Texas Red. As a major bean lover, I know a purist chili can be a gamble, but I had zero complaints here. The delivery was excellent, deeply flavorful, and incredibly satisfying. For the main event, the roasted garlic stuffed beef tenderloin was executed flawlessly, accompanied by a heavy-hitting lineup of sides: rich truffle-infused mac & cheese, crispy Brussels sprouts tossed in a savory bacon vinaigrette with black garlic, and perfectly sautéed Texas wild mushrooms. We tied the entire evening together with several LALO Ranch Waters, kicked up with a sharp, salted Tajín rim. It was a spectacular meal from start to finish. If you want a genuine Texas dining experience that delivers on its promises, this is the spot.

I would never have expected to try kangaroo, elk, rabbit, rattlesnake, and boar all in one night, but if that's your goal, this would be the perfect place to go. Our waiter did a perfect job of introducing his favorite items in the menu and allowing for each one of us in my group to get a piece of that appetizer on their own plate, which is which shown in the second picture. Instead of the appetizers served on its own plate. Every person in my group of eight got their own plate of individual appetizers so that we all got to try our own piece. I personally have never seen that before in other restaurants, but we were delightfully impressed with how accommodating this restaurant was of such a big group. This way, we didn't have to order multiple orders of the same appetizer and just got to eat off our own plate. My group also didn't opt for individual main courses instead shared every entrée we ordered which I thought was an amazing idea. I typically love family style when eating Asian cuisine so this was my first time eating family style in an American restaurant and I would highly recommend going this route at this restaurant to ensure that you try every unique dish they have.

First, major credit to Avery and Nancy, who were incredibly kind and patient considering we arrived fairly close to the end of lunch service before the restaurant closed for its afternoon break. We never felt rushed, which I really appreciated. I started lunch by ordering another cocktail (which may or may not have had me buzzing a little by this point) along with the 12 oz. prime rib steak served with buttery herb mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and chimichurri sauce. I'll admit, the steak was thinner than I expected for Texas (I sort of anticipated a Flintstones-sized slab of beef) but honestly? It was fantastic. Juicy, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth tender and cooked perfectly! The mashed potatoes were rich and even the vegetables were great! My dining companions ordered a bit lighter fare, I believe a salad and grilled cheese, but I was far too focused on my steak situation to pay close attention. I left absolutely stuffed and very, very, very happy about it. The atmosphere here is upscale without feeling pretentious. Between the Western inspired decor and the relaxed energy of the Stockyards area, it feels welcoming. Also worth noting: apparently bachelorette parties featuring men in cow-print overalls are welcome here too, so truly something for everyone. Great service, great food, and a really enjoyable dining experience overall. I'd happily come back the next time I find myself in Fort Worth!
