I met a friend for brunch at Wishbone & Flynt and had a great experience! We made reservations for Saturday morning, but they weren't necessary. We were seated quickly and greeted by our server, Spencer. The service and hospitality here were the highlights of the experience. Spencer made sure we always had what we needed and was attentive without being overbearing. 10/10 for the service! The food was very good too. Wow! We showed up during happy hour at the suggestion of Braun Stroman of the WWE and his 'everything on the menu' show. We saw the PB&J wings there and felt like we had to give them a shot. They were f'n unbelievable! The wings were cooked perfectly, were crispy and had that PB&J glaze in the perfect amount...highly recommend these and will definitely be back next time in Fort Worth for these again. The biggest selling factor of this place is the intimate setting. The rustic industrial decor with great service. And not to be missed is the crafted cocktails. With different menus between Wishbone & Flynt and the Amber room. I visited both for an evening dinner and brunch on a Saturday. The dinner meal included, trying the bone marrow and a steak. Brunch included Chilaquiles's, Relleno, and a Dutch baby. Of all the things that Dutch baby was my favorite. If I'm being honest, the food did not nearly as impressed me as the atmosphere and service. I feel like this may be one of those spots that is popular because it's small, quaint, intimate with a fine tuned menu. The Mexican brunch dishes, were a little bit bland for the price and what I expected. If I was rating on just that it would be 3.5/5 stars. I would probably lean towards traditional breakfast/brunch dishes here. And stick to their highlighted items recommended by the servers. The patio looked very intimate as well. And they had nicer patio heaters for winter dining then some of the other places I've seen. That would also make it worthy of a visit to try a few more dishes. read more

I really wanted to love this place, especially for Valentine's Day, but the experience was honestly disappointing. I understand doing a set menu for a holiday -- that's completely fine. But if you're going to offer a limited menu, it should highlight dishes you actually execute well. Also, when you book the reservation it should've said it was a set menu.. The beef Wellington was laughable -- overcooked, poorly composed, and nowhere near what you'd expect for a special occasion. The salad was borderline inedible. For a premium-priced Valentine's dinner, that's tough to overlook. Ambience matters on a night like that too. The only indoor dining space shares the room with the bar -- which would have been manageable -- except the TVs were on the entire time. It's hard to lean into a romantic evening when sports highlights are playing overhead. Service didn't help the situation. Our server wasn't attentive, and when it was clear we were disappointed, instead of addressing it, he pivoted to telling us how great their brunch is. Read the room. That's not the move. Valentine's Day is supposed to feel thoughtful and elevated. This felt rushed and phoned in. Don't worry -- we won't be back. read more

We ordered; Steak and Eggs, Breakfast Sandwich, Dutch Baby. Overall the execution of each dish was there. Perfectly cooked steak (medium rare), crispy potatoes, sunny side up eggs. Sandwich bread was perfectly buttered and toasted, over medium eggs on point bacon was crispy. However the flavors were lacking. The quality of the beef for instance had a slightly stringy texture granted it was likely sirloin flap. Perhaps a different cut like skirt would be better. The sandwich albeit good, was almost too big. Leaving a ton of bread and not many uniform bites. Feels like if wishbone matched the quality of ingredients to the blatantly obvious high skillset of their chefs (and I mean it!!) then it would be a 5* brunch spot. Just something to consider!! The menu looked great, but food was disappointing when it arrived. Our shrimp fra diavolo was unnecessarily spicy and resembled a spicy chef boyardee. Not quite the nostalgia I was hoping for. The location is cute and dimly lit, with Amber Room attached. I WOULD recommend grabbing a cocktail there. But back to Wishbone & Flynt. Our server was trying their best, but just kept missing the mark. Our friend wanted to know if they could put blue cheese olives in his martini. They said they didn't have any but had both blue cheese and olives and could bring them if he wanted to stuff them himself. I was mortified for them when they actually proceeded to bring them out that way. Considering it was over $700 for 4 people (2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and beverages) for dinner and drinks, I'd definitely expect a better overall experience. We recently went to Wishbone & Flynt for our anniversary. The ambiance was perfect for our anniversary that Wednesday evening. Since it was a random Wednesday we actually had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Our server was attentive and kind and knew just when to swing by while giving us a chance to converse. The food was incredible. We started with the truffle cheese fondue and the crispy pork sopes which were delicious. With just enough room for the entree, we split the salmon. It was probably the best salmon we ever ate. This is the third or fourth time we've been to W&F and we enjoyed it as much as the first time we ever went. The shrimp soup special was more like a pot pie than a soup, but was quite tasty! Also tried the Asian Lobster Pasta feature. Wasn't the best thing I've had here. The empty lobster tail shell on top with them dicing the lobster meat very small made it seem like there was not really much lobster meat. I would have preferred the chunk of lobster meat that I could just cut to size as I see fit. But ignoring that I was really not a fan of the flavors in this dish and there were a lot of noodles. Came into Wishbone & Flynt for the first time tonight. Our waitress was absolutely fantastic and the vibe in the place was very nice and laidback. Started with the Bone Marrow and it also had a pimiento fluff and pickled onions. Great flavor and was a great way to start the evening. Next was the ShortRib with a butternut squash risotto. This was fantastic with great flavor perfectly cooked. We also had the filet with Truffle Au Gratin Potatoes. This was fantastic plate of food and was perfectly cooked and the veal Demi was great complement to the steak. The truffle potatoes were a fantastic side also. Now this might sound like I'm being critical of desserts, but don't let that take away from the entrees. This is where a lot of restaurants miss the mark. I was highly optimistic about the dessert based on starters and entrees. We had the carrot cake and the chocolate lava cake. The carrot cake had an under cook sponge and coconut in the cream cheese frosting that overpowered the cake. Next we had the chocolate lava cake that was just hands down overcooked. There was zero lava and was totally dense sponge. Definitely dessert needs a little more attention to detail. Based on the starters and entrees I would say dinner was a successful. Our lunch here was a very enjoyable experience. Due to it being our first time we decided to get a bunch of shareable plates. Hands down our favorite was the peanut butter and jelly wings. The service today was really spot on. My party was doing a relaxed lunch and we were never rushed by our waiter. He gave us great food suggestions and checked in on our needs. My group was only one of two parties having lunch at the restaurant, so there was no wait. There is inside and outside seating available. Our favorite item was the PB&J wings. The flavors really worked well with the perfectly cooked chicken wings. Second favorite was the date and Gorgonzola bruschetta. It was not sweet but more umami. We had water right after we sat down and order within a few minutes. Truffle fries are delicious but I should have ordered a side of ranch. You know that smell of delicious meat in the air and you hope the burger taste as good as the smell? Well it did. I recently visited Wishbone & Flynt for their brunch service. My sister and I were meeting up with a friend, so she made a reservation online. The table was ready when we got there and we were sat immediately. Our waitress immediately got us started with mimosas, which you can't go wrong with for brunch. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of our meal. I ordered the breakfast enchilada stack, my sister ordered the whihop and our friend ordered the Dutch baby. None of us were impressed with our meals. The presentation was great, but the taste left much to be desired. Recently visited for lunch on a hot summer day. I called beforehand to see if we needed reservations but was told to just walk in. When we arrived, it was only mildly busy. We were promptly seated by our host however had to wait forever (20mins+) to have a server assigned. We took it upon ourselves to call over one of the servers. Anyways, so our server turned out to be really sweet and friendly which helped alleviate our initial frustration. We asked her for recommendations and she was great. We ordered roasted chicken thigh, pork schnitzel and steak. The roasted chicken thigh was so good, one of the best I ever had( or maybe I was just that hungry lol). But it was really tender, full of flavor just perfect. The pork schnitzel was second on the list. It was good but not great. I will order these two dishes again! Well, for now for the steak! It was a major let down, overcooked and dry. One consistent highlight were the potatoes that came as side dish for all our plates. They were perfectly seasoned and cooked! I wanted more! For dessert, we ordered Dutch baby and French toast. The Dutch baby turned out to be a disappointment. We couldn't finish it as it was very chewy and just lacked the proper texture. It was just too heavy and even a little charred at the bottom. We have made better one at home with so less effort. Anyways the saving grace was the French toast. It was again one of the best I ever had. So fluffy, just the right texture, flavor! Ofc, this was a mixed experience but I would go again just for the chicken/potatoes and French toast! This place amazed me! The shrimp and grits were so different. Not your usual blackened or Cajun shrimp. So good and the blue grits were wonderful in the sauce they were in along with the egg on top just added just the right amount of deliciousnesses! My husband had the short ribs and said they were super tender. We had the Cesar salad to start and it was roasted and with some yummy unusual croutons. I would take just a little more dressing but overall tasty! My husband had the Blue Crush drink and I had a glass of Riesling! To end this wonderful meal we ordered creme brûlée and carrot cake. This place is super cool. I love that they have a speakeasy in the back with different drinks than what the bar in the front serves. There's a ton of space in that speakeasy as well so it wasn't hard finding a place for our party of 4 while we waited for our table to be ready, even for a Saturday night. Definitely make reservations if you want to eat at one of the indoor tables. I snatched a reservation at 8:30, which worked out because our party wanted to check out the speakeasy anyway. So we arrived a little early to drink and I had asked the hostess if there was any availability at 8 to be seated. She said there wasn't, but to check with her at that time to see if anything popped up. So I checked and unfortunately there wasn't, but not 15 minutes later, she came to the speakeasy and found me and said a table was ready. I absolutely loved that she went out of her way to notify us. Once seated, we ordered a bunch of shareables. It was getting dark so I was only able to take pics of the bone marrow and the octopus because those were the stars of the shareables. Bone marrow was delicious, but definitely needed more bread. We asked for some and was gladly given another side of bread. The octopus was a surprising favorite, but the fig and Gorgonzola was #1 for sure. The fig and Gorgonzola worked really well together. We ordered the pb and j wings, hot and cold caesar salad, and I ordered the herbed chicken. The wings, which I believe are a signature staple---stick to it's namesake and is a nice salty, sweet twist on the wings! The salad wasn't my favorite. (Truly, this was no fault on the dishes part---I didn't read the menu and realized there was an ingredient I don't enjoy in it. (If only I just paid more attention! *facepalm) Lastly my dish, the herbed chicken. BABY. It was delicious. The base was a cheesy flavorful rice, topped with creamy elotes, and then a delicious, juicy chicken. There was some kinda sauce or something on it that I'm positive was laced with addictive properties/crack because it was sooooo good. Our waitress Jenna was very fun, friendly, attentive, and helped us with any questions we had. The additional staff was super friendly as well and we shared a chuckle with a few of them. I liked my dining experience at Wishbone & Flynt. They have a nice sitting area outside that's covered and is great when you have nice weather outside. We sat inside and it was nice too. Food was good. I had the short rib over butternut squash risotto. The risotto was really tasty and the short rib was good but in my instance maybe slightly overcooked as it wasn't as tender as I like my short rib. My wife had the truffle mac n cheese which comes with the option to add a protein. She opted not to and it was just fine without it. Brother in law had the shrimp fra diavolo. It had a nice kick to it and was a good sized portion. Sister in law had the shrimp and grits. It was the most interesting take I have seen on the dish. It was made with purple grits and was more liquidy than any shrimp and grits dish I had seen. In my opinion I like a traditional grits that's thick. Dish was topped off with a fried egg. Although a different take, it was still tasty and worth a try. We had good service and good drinks. I love it in there, great drinks, decor and ambience. The restaurant side though not as much. I like the decor and the menu always sounds interesting but the food hasn't lived upto the hype. We had a set meal on valentine's day which was ok and then we came for lunch and we had the PB and j wings which were bland and i split the chicken sandwich which wasn't anymore than standard. This is a nice Sunday brunch spot. We arrived around 12:45PM and still managed to be seated inside. The restaurant was packed inside and out. There were only a few spots left at the bar. Our very sweet server was Mischa. We scanned the menu code and saw many tempting dishes. We settled on "The Whihop" - traditional breakfast of 2 eggs, bacon, home fries, and toast, and the Dutch Baby - a blueberry Dutch baby pancake topped with lemon custard, bacon & eggs. Both meals were delicious. The Dutch baby pancake was light and fluffy with nicely crusted edges. Neither it nor the lemon custard were too sweet. The eggs were fresh and the bacon was good quality. I also had a guava mimosa which was fabulous. I do wish that they served 1/2 pitchers of mimosas on the weekend. A whole pitcher is $20 and the two of us weren't going to finish it, so I only ordered the one glass. There was a live musician performing on the patio. Live music is always a nice touch. Service was quick and Mischa checked on us regularly. We'll return to try some lunch specials or dinner. There is a parking lot, as well as ample parking along the street. read more
