I brought my motorcycle here for inspection and it failed because the tires were too old. So I replaced them with the new one by myself. When I brought my motorcycle back again for inspection, while I was waiting in line for pick up, an old man approached me and told me to follow him. He took me to another room where there is nobody around and told me in a hostile manner that I can not come back here anymore because I did not use their service to replace the old tires and therefore they could make only $6 for inspection. Unbelievable but true story. People working there seemed nice but this man, who I understood was the previous owner of this shop who recently gave the shop to his daughter, was unjustifiably hostile to me and seemed totally unconcerned with the concept of customer service. After 10 min of talking to the store guy I end up buying HJC cs-r3 and when I got home I checked the prices in few other places and I had what to see... just payed almost a double the price. I'm kind of shocked at the negative reviews, which did not match my 2 experiences. My son has been a customer of theirs for a while and turned me on to them. My last experience was replacing a bad rear tire. I purchased the tire and tube online and they swapped it out, no questions asked. The tow guy had trouble starting my bike and took it upon himself to tell them to check for electrical problems, unbeknownst to me. It turns out they did check, but couldn't find anything, and couldn't recreate the no start condition. When I heard they couldn't find the issue, I asked what they were talking about and they explained to me the conversation they had with the tow guy. They didn't charge me anything for checking, so to me, that was them being honest. Replacing the rear tube/tire was right around the same cost as anywhere else. I am going back maybe Thursday for an inspection sticker and maybe an oil change. Any time I called them the dialogue was always friendly. I had no issues whatsoever. If anything changes, I'll update this review but I give them a 5 of 5. read more

They've come through for me a few times in the clutch with tire fixes, minor readjustments, or even a tuneup. I've felt comfortable and safe riding after they have done their work. I completely understand all the bad reviews about their showroom service - it's pretty terrible. But if you go in knowing that you'll have a better experience. I can say that after waiting a bit in the retail space, they've been able to sneak me on their schedule on minor, but necessary, repairs, usually with same-day service. Can't give them 5 stars because the service is a pain, but have to give them a solid review since they've always taken care of me. read more

Sales rep walked right by me to go talk to his friend at the desk in the sales floor. They both ignored me and acted like I was not in the room until I politely asked for help. They were condescending when I asked about bikes they have for sale, didn't seem to take me seriously at all, and quoted me a price on a ZX-6R that was waaaaay above market price. Please avoid this place at all costs. I brought my bike here awhile ago to get fixed and they completely ripped me off. Please look at my profile, I am not a 1 star reviewer (or even a reviewer for that matter) but I feel it is my obligation to alert anyone I can to avoid this place. Long story short: I paid Prospect Power Sports to change out my transmission fluid on my bike as I was having clutch problems. They said they did it, they charged me, and I paid. I continued to have clutch problems. I then brought my bike to a new shop who checked out the transmission fluid and informed me that it has not been changed in at least 5 years and there is no way Prospect Power Sports changed it as they claim. To be honest, every step with these guys was painful. They are terrible at communicating, they took over three weeks to fix my bike even though I had an appointment with them, and they charged me an exorbitant amount of money for a very small amount of work. Please save your money and time and find a new shop. NYC is a tough place to get your bike fixed but there are better and more honest mechanics out there. I really wish I had read the 1 star reviews before bringing my bike there. Oh well. Live and learn. read more

I bought a new 2017 R3 ABS and they gave me the best price possible and I never thought that a price like that was even possible. To add on to that, they also hooked me up with a helmet because the helmets that I have had gave me hotspots. I'm surprised this place is still in business. I can't speak for the service dept. but I've been told by several people not to take bikes here. This review is for the sales/retail side. I walked in a few months ago eager to see and potentially buy a new Yamaha FZ. I walked in off my bike with my jacket and moto boots on and helmet in hand which should suggest I'm there for a reason and won't be a time waster. I walked around for at least ten minutes without a greeting. I could understand if the shop were busy, it wasn't. Finally I just patiently waited at the parts counter. When it was my turn, the parts guy yelled across the room for someone else to chat with me about the Yamaha. This kid took his sweet ass time, not caring or showing any respect for my time or presence. On top of that, he didn't know squat about the bike and seemed perturbed that I even asked about test rides or inquiring about demo days even elsewhere. Worse yet, the entire time I was in the shop they were screening some grainy edit on tv's featuring squids wheelying down public streets and highways. Combined with proudly displaying things like "german's" half-helmets that would be as protective as a yankee cap, they're encouraging the culture of hooligan squid douchebaggery that kills even experienced riders and stains the reputation of all motorcyclists. How do you guys go to bed at night after a days work of selling inherently dangerous machine's while not considering your customers safety or wellbeing? Grow up. read more

In 2016 did buy a Kymco 2016 200i from this place, i was offered a two years extended warranty, for 500 since i was gonna uses it scooter to delivery food, was like sounds good to me. Two years later after Riding over 13,000 miles on its scooter wanted to get a belt drive replacement and stuff, my 500 extended warranty doesn't cover none of that. Asked one of the worker. Whats does my attended warranty cover? His answered only manufacturing defections. So Did call kymco headquarter over a second opinion on my extended warranty. Next thing i do learn is, two years ago there was a kymco 2 years extended warranty free promotion Going on. So i was sold a free promotion warranty for 500 us. I've been coming here for 4 years now and I think it's time to call it quits. Each year Miles(?) gets more and more bitter but I usually just put up with his rants about how business sucks and I just get what I need done. Last week, I went in for a tool that he didn't have so I said I'll just order it online (I wanted to work on the bike that day so it was pointless if he ordered it for me to pick up later). After him ranting for ten minutes, I agreed to spend a few extra bucks and buy the tool from him if he gives me an inspection the following week (since I know he hates doing inspections). He said ok. All went well at first...until they failed my bike...for the BATTERY NOT BEING GOOD and the FI (error) Light being on. I have watched people do many of my inspections and none involved checking the battery, and nothing in the law requires a battery to be checked. I stupidly did not think about this at the time. There is also nothing wrong with my 6 month old battery that fires up first try every time. I also don't see anything about error lights being on in the requirements, but this reason at least sounds like it can make sense. However, they have passed me the past 4 years with that same error light being on. The light is only on because I have an aftermarket exhaust. I can easily install the piece that will make the light turn off, but I don't trust them touching my bike anymore without me watching after those bullshit excuses to try to get me to spend more money with them. read more

This review is for the service department. Today I went here to have my first 600 mile service on my scooter. I made the appointment a day before. The person that helped me was Sean. He explained to me in depth about the service and advised me when the next service should be done. The service itself took about two and a half hours. When I got it back, it felt completely different in a good way. Would go back here in a heart beat. While I was there, all the customers loved him. I did not hear or see people with issues at all. Keep in mind that Sean is the service manager. His cell phone seems to ring off the hook with calls and text notifications. But he is really polite and will answer your questions to the best of his ability. Somethings I did not know I needed and you should bring if you go for service. 1. Registration in hand. 2. Exact mileage. 3. Your Key ( most obvious ) I will update my review should something go wrong with my scooter, but I doubt that will happen. Happy riding ! read more

Went prepared to buy a scooter - I'm planning on upgrading to a motorcycle but need something for the Summer because my motorcycle endorsement isn't valid in NYC yet and the DMVs are closed. The guy out front took one look at me and assumed I had no idea what the fuck I was doing - went into a long diatribe about the laws around driving a 50cc. When I asked about the bike on the website I tried to verify the price that was listed, I asked "It's 1700, right" and the guy crossed his arms and said "yeah, to start..." when I asked him what that means he just blew me off. When I was walking away he just started going off about "these kids" that "have no idea how to ride". Just literally the worst experience I've ever had at a shop. Couldn't justify giving these people my money. Note to the owner - if you don't like selling to a certain type of customer - don't advertise the products it brings in. Also don't be so rude. You don't know any more about the people coming to your shop at first glance than they know about you. read more

Late review. Nov. 2015 I bought a Yamaha R1 from the dealer ship. Fred was my sales consultant. He was very pleasant. My buying process was pretty quick, the only thing was I didn't get my bike the same day because I was registering it out of state (which they charged me for & was included in the final price). They told me the following week I could pick up my bike with temp tags. I called the following week to confirm. In which they told me I needed to pay $100 for the temp tags. After a heavy debate & finally checking the receipt it was found that I had already paid for the temp tags. Long story short I had to wait another week to get my bike with temp tags & an additional week and a half for my plates. It was a mistake that costed me time (3 weeks) but was resolved. To this day I still do business with them. The staff is very friendly. Bottom line I would recommend them just remember to check your receipt !! read more

Everytime I go in this place I am treated like I have a disease because I have an older bike and I didn't but it there. I used to just have my bike inspected there but when I needed a repair on my Honda and old guy came out and just made faces at me and said we don't have parts for you and that bike is so old----he didn't ask for the model, I just got treated like shit. I always tip the service guys and I spent my life helping others and to see where this place has gone saddens me. So I called initially to get a maintenance done on my 2018 Kawasaki Z650, I spoke to Egor told him that I had 1000 miles on it, he asked if I got the 600 miles service done. I told him I did, and he told me that I don't need a service until like 2500-3000 miles depending on how I ride. I was surprised because usually greedy businesses would just say okay come in for a service just to take the money. He gave me very valuable information and he is a honest dude. Brought my bike in for service and brought a set of sprockets and tires I wanted to put on my bike. The guy that was actually going to work on my bike was chill but the Arab or Indian dude that runs the show was another story. He went off on how he doesn't want to do the work and will turn away anyone that brings in their own parts and how his business is doing bad and he's thinking of closing the place because of people like me. Also mentioned that I should tell my friends the same thing, being caught off guard and honestly confused i let out like a little laugh but that like set him off and was like "I'm not laughing, this isn't a joke and isn't funny". I wasn't intimidated in the slightest but decided to keep my kool because you know, I wanted to get the job done. Moral of the story, stay clear if you have options and the dude should be happy that I even gave him the business for the labor because at the end of the day, some money is better than no money. read more

Absolutely rude and racist! I ordered motorcycle parts 10 days ago and today they called me to come pick it up. When I went there they told me that they actually do not have it. They called me 5 minutes after I left and said they found it so I went back to get it. When I got there I was told they already sold it to another customer "by accident" even though they had only called me a couple of minutes ago. I obviously was upset but they were treating me like I had no reason to be. I was told that there is no manager and I should "act like a civilized person" because this "is America". Brought in a 2008 Yamaha R1 with a minor charging problem. (Error code 46.) Bike sat there for a week and half with no one even looking at it saying they're "understaffed." Finally got the call back saying that I'd have to change 2 key components and that it'll be over $1,000. Gave the O.K although it is obviously way over priced. A week and a half later (they were waiting for the parts) got another call saying they've just noticed that there's another component which needs to be replaced - another $500. Told them not to do anything and that I'll fix it myself. 2 min later got another call - now threatening to charge me extra for every day the bike it at their work shop (which is outside on the street, exposed to rain, sun, bugs etc..) The nerve of these amateurs; keeping the bike hostage for almost a month, have no idea what to do, trying to rip you off and then when you just want to walk away, trying to charge you for "parking." I've been riding motorcycles for over 20 years and never in my life I've experienced such a horrible, disgusting sub-level of costumer service. STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. You have been warned. Would give them -5 stars, too bad there's no such option. read more

What a bad idea. Went in to help my buddy buy a bike. He suggested this to be a good place to start since they did offer him the lowest price for the pike he wanted. We went in at 10 am sharp. We waited for about 10 minutes while the guy behind the glass showcase helped another customer. From a distance a young guy behind a wooden desk watched but didn't bother to approach us. The manager walked around turning on lights and radio while taking on his cell phone and didn't bother to ask if we needed help either. Finally the guy behind the showcase asked if he could help. We said were interested in purchasing a bike. They referred us over to the guy behind the wooden desk and called him Scruffy. " Go speak to scruffy" We did. My friend expressed his interest in a bike and "Scruffy" looked at him as if he was speaking Chinese. When I approached scruffy with my helmet in hand and riding jacket on he tended to my inquiry which was the same as my friends just a moment before. We wanted an out the door price and wanted to see the bike. He got up to find the bike and we followed behind. He said you can sit and wait or not Sarcastically and we followed. Upon seeing the bike he goes "Tada" theres the bike you want so you want to take it home today? Lets start the application." Takes my friend back to the desk and has him fill out an application. Then leaves us at the desk for 10 minutes. Never offered to let him sit on the bike or feel it out. No financing options. Was a bit sarcastic and standoffish. I called a friend at a different bike shop and they offered the same price. Just based on service alone we decided to leave and check it out. As we left the manager follows behing saying" Hey Whats the Problem? I hate when people walk out of my store? I just hired this guy and this is what I get. Let me make it up to you." and proceeded to scold the sales rep infront of us... Not for me. read more

They get one star because every time I've been here (only twice) to buy parts or accessories I have been treated rudely by the wall to wall jackasses. Why are there 5 "salesmen" hanging around with nothing better to do than insult a customer? I have no idea. They get the second star because several people in the motorcycle world have told me that the owner is a great guy and runs a good service shop and so I give them some benefit of the doubt...although I wouldn't give them my bike to work on. Go here if you appreciate.... Over-inflated bills for standard motorbike service, and Step-motherly treatment. I have gone to this place a couple of times for getting my motorcycle serviced. Both times I have walked out with $300+ bills. This is for labor and fluids. No spare parts. No body work. No new installations. Just adjustments and changing of fluids and an oil filter. And mind you, these were the first two services of my brand new Japanese motorcycle so not that there were many things to fix anyway. I noticed they charged for stuff like fork oil. I checked my motorcycle manual after I came back home and seems like I didn't even need my fork oil changed for my second service. Something that I am sure they were (or at least should have been) aware of but contributed significantly to me running up a $300 bill for a regular service. And, the best part is that in the two bills I have from them, they have charged me wildly differing amounts from the same thing. For e.g. service #1 - 2 units of fork oil @ $14.50 ea. Service #2 - 2 units of fork oil for $29.99 ea. BOOM! Fork oil prices must have spiked because of the unrest in Syria and the IS. AND, there is no way of knowing if all of these fluids were actually changed in my bike. But lets give them the benefit of doubt on that one. And as for the service, step-motherly would be the best way to describe it. Nothing that I can point to as obviously unprofessional but everything just seemed distant. Sort of like I wasn't entirely welcome and that maybe I shouldn't have bothered bringing in my motorbike at all. Definitely didn't leave with the impression that I was a valued customer. Now, as a wrinkle - the owner, Mayo, is a genuinely likeable guy and if it weren't for him, no chance that I would have made it back for the second service. Maybe all this stems from the fact that I didn't purchase my motorcycle from them. Well, its not going to matter any more. My beloved steed and my hard-earned dough are going to find a different place. read more
