Recently stopped picking up my calls and text message. (718) 938-4472. I think he blocked me…read more. I bought my Tomos Targa limited edition with electric start to his shop. I was not expecting the bill to be so expensive. He will say "I'll try to work with you." First, he said the price was $190, then $650, and finally $950. When I bought it over, I wanted the electrical wires to be connected and the engine running. When I came to pick it up... - The headlights does NOT turn on and off. It always says on. - The turn signals does NOT work - The brake light does NOT work - The horn does NOT work - All the wires were nice and neat when i bought it over. When i picked it up, the electrical wires were dangling everywhere and cut. I asked him what the green wire you cut was and left disconnected. He doesn't know. All this play in the wires, and it still doesn't work. - The electric start does NOT work even though he claimed that the battery needs to be charged. It worked before I bought it over. It would crank when I plug in the battery. I got it back, it was completely dead. - The bike was very clean when I bought it over. It was very dirty and greasy when I got it back. We agreed to fix the engine and wires, but he only fixed the engine for $950 by using "new old stock" parts he claimed. The parts are just used parts, not NOS. Everything that was done was bare minimum. I got so pissed off when I got it back. I wanted to make this bike to look like new again but he only made it worse. I was going to keep it but now I want to get rid of it... my heart was broken when I picked it up. I asked him why isn't all the electric lights working and he said that I have to pay him more to wire it even though I told him on the phone, "fix the wiring and the engine".

My mechanic who is a family friend told me that my car's engine and transmission had been leaking…read moreoil and it was a matter of time before it was going to fail on me. It was due to old age (239000 miles). Too bad he doesnt do engine swaps. Fortunately, I have a coworker who has a husband that owns a shop and was told that he just recently swap a engine with a low mileage jdm motor. Chris called me that same night and we went over the details on the work that needed to be done on the car. He was very informative and he went step by step with me about the engine swapping process. He even told me that he would pick up the engine and transmission in NJ for a cheap fee. I decided that Chris was the right guy for the job and told him that I would give him the car in three weeks to work on. When I arrived at the shop, I told Chris that I had other issues with the car. He told me that he will look into it but his main focus was to replace the motor and transmission first. During the time he was working on my car, he kept in constant contact with me. He would let me know what he was doing and if there was something that needed to be replaced, he would call me first for permission before buying the replacement part. Chris also sent me picture and videos while my car was being worked on. One of other issues that I had address to Chris was that my heater was only give me luke warm air at best. I had thought that my heater core was clogged and that it needed to be replaced. Turns out, Chris found that it was just my heater control valve that was broken and prevented the coolant to go into my heater core. For people that dont know about heater cores, it would cost 800 to 1500 dollars for the heater core to be replaced. By finding out that it was just the heater control valve, Chris saved me a boat load of money. About a week and half later, Chris finally finished the job and he delivered my car in front of the house. He even gave my car a wash and even detailed my car. I test drove the car with Chris sitting on the passenger side and was surprised how much power I had on the new engine. Transmssion was shifting flawlessly. Chris also installed a dedicated transmission oil cooler and filter to prolong the life of the transmission. I had told Chris that day he delivered my car that I was going on a trip to upstate for the memorial day weekend. He told me that if I have any issues to call him immediately. I didn't have to call him because my car worked perfectly. In fact, Chris texted me asking how my car was doing and I forgot to text him back. (Sorry Chris). I highly recommend Chris to anyone. Not only that he does excellent work, he genuinely cares about his customers. Other than my family friend, Chris would be the only one I would trust my car with. Thank you Chris!!!

It's rather sad that when I receive honest, fairly-priced, quality service, it surprises me because…read moreit has become so uncommon. I read numerous reviews praising this shop not only for their excellent service but also for their honorable business practices. Today, I had the pleasure of confirming that every one of those kind words were true in those reviews with the assistance of Sean. As a new rider with limited knowledge about my bike's needs, I made it clear to Sean that I didn't know bikes and told him to do whatever he thought was best. He could have taken advantage of my inexperience and charged me for unnecessary services, but instead, he walked me through exactly what my bike needed and what it didn't. He charged me a very very fair price to fix it right there on the spot. Thank you, Sean, and the team, for reminding me what great service feels like.

I've been going to this shop on and off for years and recently decided to give it another shot,…read morehoping things had improved. Unfortunately, the experience has been consistently disappointing. While a few staff members have been friendly, there's been a recurring pattern of dismissive and somewhat condescending behavior across multiple visits. Questions and concerns often felt brushed off, and explanations of services -- like what a "free tune-up" actually includes -- were vague or incomplete. There were also several instances where the work itself didn't inspire confidence. A computer mount was left spinning despite being told it was secure, and on another visit, a mechanic refused to use carbon paste on a mount, which didn't feel appropriate for the component involved. What's most concerning is that this wasn't a one-off experience -- it's been a pattern over time. When communication and attention to detail are lacking, it starts to impact both safety and trust, especially on longer rides. Update (Jan 2026): I later found out that a tubeless setup I paid for had barely any sealant in the tires, which explains why a flat wouldn't seal. Another shop had to fix it. At this point, I've decided to take my business elsewhere. I'd recommend double-checking any work before leaving.
