If I could give Prosecco, 10 stars, I would!
Prosecco is not only my favorite Italian restaurant, but my favorite restaurant, and I've been to a lot of restaurants. Being in the medical device industry, the job comes with a lot of dining out and Prosecco is now my go-to restaurant when it comes to taking customers out. Not only that, Prosecco is my go-to restaurant whenever anyone whether it's a friend, co-worker, family member, or a stranger needs a restaurant recommendation.
Not only is the food the best in the city, but the service is superb. It doesn't get any better than this. From the moment you pull up your car (if you valet) to walking in door being greeted by the host to the wine connoisseur , friendliest staff, the most personable and talented head chef (Mark) I've ever met along with his sous chefs, an incredible event coordinator (Jennifer), and an atmosphere that is perfect for any occassion , you will be blown away.
The staff at Prosecco really tries to cater to any and all of your requests...if you only want to try a small portion of one of their pastas, they'll get you a small portion. I have incredibly high standards especially when it comes to restaurants and this place is unlike any other restaurant I've eaten at in this city and in any of my travels. Take my word for it, you must have dinner at Prosecco, and I guarantee you will want to come back a 2nd, 3rd, 4th....etc...time.
When you first sit down at Prosecco, you are greeted with a tasting of Prosecco which typically .ends up remaining my drink of choice for the night, but from experience they are more than willing to come up with a drink for you and offer a nice selection of wine. I think I've had almost every appetizer on the menu and some not even on the menu. I definitely haven't had every entree on the menu but you better believe, one day I will try them all.
I also completely trust Mark (the head chef) to surprise me with anything and everything from appetizers, to entrees to desserts...THAT'S how great Prosecco is and how great his food is! I'm not much of an ice cream/gelato person but let me tell you...I could eat an entire gallon of Mark's homemade gelato. They constantly change the flavors...risotto gelato, goat cheese gelato, strawberry and cracked pepper gelato, cherry gelato with chocolate cake pieces...out of this world. To be honest all of their desserts are out of this world. Actually, the entire place is out of this world! You should really go there today whether it's with a friend or a party of 50 people...Prosecco will instantly become your favorite restaurant too!
Some of my favorites:
Appetizers:
*Pork Belly (It wasn't on the menu but if they ever have it on their specials menu you, get it!)
*Risotto Crab Cakes with red pepper aioli
*Grilled octopus, calamari, fingerling potatoes, string beans, tomato, balsamic and sweet pepper oil drizzle
*Avocado salad with baby lobster tail and prawn, sweet pepper, scallion, basil oil, balsamic glaze (INSANELY GOOD!)
Pastas:
*Rigatoni Norcina: Pasta with pancetta, mild sausage and a light tomato cream sauce
*Orecchiette Tartufae: Fresh disc-shaped pasta, wild mushroom, asparagus, sun-dried tomato, black truffle cream, shaved Grana Padano, white truffle oil (A MUST TRY!)
Entrees:
*Diver caught scallops, spinach, shitake, diced tomato, vanilla Prosecco DOC reduction
*Halibut with avocado (one of their specials during the summer..AMAZING!)
*Double Pork Chop, roasted red peppers, caramerlized onion mashed potato (My Mom even said that this pork chop is BETTER and BIGGER than pork chop they serve at Mike Ditka's restaurant...doesn't Mike Ditka claim his is the best? Prosecco's pork chop definitely beats his!)
Desserts:
I already discussed the gelato above and as I was rereading the dessert menu on the Prosecco website to pick out the ones I've tried...I realized, I've had them all and they are all amazing!
*****On a final note, as I was reading other people's reviews about Prosecco, I noticed a common theme...most people mention that something is to die for in their review. Let me tell you....everything about the place is TO DIE FOR!***** read more
